Will I see him again 1 by cx61 A friend asked this question about someone she spent a single day with many years ago. They were in the Air Force and he shipped out the next day. She said it was like to magnets meeting; they were just supposed to be together on that day. They didn't exchange any contact info though, so that one day was it. I'm afraid I haven't been able to figure out how to attach the chart so here is the info: 07/28/2009, 1822 PDT, Portland, OR USA. Basically, I see the answer to the question as no, but there are some odd features that I would like to get some comments about. First, the Asc is 28Sag35 which I take to mean it is too late to ask the question. Her significator is Jupiter and his is Mercury. They are both moving toward an opposition (Jupiter Rx). From my reading this is either a No or Yes, but more trouble that it is worth. What interested me about this chart was Pluto conj the Asc and Venus conj the Dsc. Any thoughts on this significance of this? Quote Thu Jul 30, 2009 10:20 pm
by Tanit It's interesting that so many people posted romance horaries during the via combusta. The Moon in the via combusta in Scorpio (at 8 degrees), the Moon's detriment, never bodes well for a question. Here it probably shows a lot of pain and regret on her part, and obsessing about what might have been. Yes, this chart is too late to be fit to judge. The outcome is likely already decided, and your friend probably knows this deep down. Sagittarius rising makes me question the validity of this chart also, as this is a love horary and you'd expect a sign of Venus or Mars to be rising. Some astrologers say that Pluto retro in the first house destroys a question - pretty much an automatic "no," unless there is a lot of good stuff to override it. There isn't anything good here, as far as I can tell, unfortunately. The opposition is likely to be a negative in and of itself, but there is also a lack of strength in the planets involved to bring about any action in regards to the question (via house placement and/or dignity). There is no mutual reception between their significators either to help - Mercury alone has term dignity to Jupiter (Jupiter has no dignity to Mercury - peregrine) in this diurnal chart. Maybe he tried to contact/locate her but was unsuccessful. Mercury is severely debilitated in the 8th house and being peregrine (without any dignity), which makes me wonder if he's even worth the the regret, or if something bad happened to him after she last saw him. Mercury is disposited by the Sun, though, which is in his 8th house with him. The Sun could be a secondary sig for him, or perhaps someone else he is with now. I think it is probably a secondary sig, because the Moon is separating from it in square which shows the past - their brief meeting and painful separation for her. If the Sun is him (it is also seen as a secondary sig for men in general by some horary astrologers), it is applying to Mars in his house of secrets. Mars rules his 5th house of romance, and it being in his house of secrets also makes me wonder if he is with someone else now that she doesn't know about. I think Venus (ruler of the 5th house of romance here) signifies where her interests lie regarding the question - a love relationship with this person. This is especially true because Venus is in Mercury's dignity (loves him). Venus already aspected Jupiter in trine, and would translate light to Mercury, if Venus did not escape Mercury at her last degree before she enters Cancer. The final aspect does not perfect before she changes signs - unrequited romance in the end. Jupiter retro conjunct Neptune also points to idealism about the past and not seeing things as they really are. I am very sorry for her, but maybe it's for the best. I hope that she can move on from this false hope and find someone better for her. Quote Sat Aug 01, 2009 7:43 am
by aglaya Is the Querent sure that that man is still alive (I am NOT suggesting that he might be dead! I only looked at this chart very briefly). Does she know anything about him? And how many years has it been? Quote Sun Aug 02, 2009 1:36 am
by Tanit The 8th may just be suggesting that there is a loss here. They are in each other's 8th, so maybe they both feel/felt some grievance in the fact that they won't see each other again. I am also wondering about Pluto conjunct the ASC, though... both Venus and Mercury will aspect it, but only once they change signs. Pluto creates complications and makes things unpredictable - but it also tends to be destructive, in general. Quote Sun Aug 02, 2009 6:13 am
by cx61 Tanit - I totally agree with your interpretation; but you're definitely better at it than I am. This meeting happened in 1984, so the death of the man is not outside the realm of possibility. The querent is a Scorpio and aren't they just the best at obsessing! She says that the meeting took place at the absolute low point of her life and it gave her the ability to keep going. Quote Sun Aug 02, 2009 3:27 pm
by Tanit Horary shouldn't be used to predict deaths, but it could be a possibility. All of the charts I have done involving death have had Pluto aspects to the person (or animal's) sig - these were missing person questions and an incident involving an animal I found wounded (I asked if it would heal). I understand about obsessing about the past and believing in karma and all of that. She probably has some dreamy Neptune in her natal chart like I do. I think we do meet people for a reason, but often times it doesn't work out as we would hope and we have to keep going, regardless. Dreams are great, as long as we remember that they are just that and don't let them hold us back from persuing other things. If he was her soul mate, at least she got to meet him. A lot of people can't say that. Quote Sun Aug 02, 2009 8:48 pm
