by Tanit We have been getting a lot of Sag rising the past few days... Again, Pluto retro in the first is regarded as malefic and could destroy the question. Pluto in the first in general usually means that things will go unpredictably and that you are vulnerable - in this instance vulnerable to getting hurt by this person. I'm not sure why you'd say that the Moon is VOC here, as she is applying to an aspect to Mercury before either change signs, I believe. My ephemeris isn't clear, but I think that the Moon went into Capricorn first, no? Even so, she'd still aspect Mercury as soon as she changed signs, which I believe Lilly has said is not grounds for a VOC - at zero degree aspect. The Moon is also perfectly conjunct the ASC, which means it's angular and pretty powerful in regards to the question, though not very dignified in Sag (it is a sign of Jupiter, but the Moon is peregrine). The Moon here shows a lot of uncertainty on the part of the querent and in regards to the question over all. The Moon is in Jupiter's dignity, but Mercury's detriment. I'm not sure what to make of that... maybe you have some contempt for him right now. Your sig of Jupiter is in its traditional ruling house (the 2nd) and in its own term, though weakened being retro. Your planet appears much stronger than his, so in regards to the question, you have more ability to get what you want than he has to give it to you, even if he wants to. The Moon separated from a sextile to your sig, and is applying to his sig in trine, which indicates a "yes," to your question, for good or ill (just because someone wants to be with you doesn't mean that they will go about it properly or that it's good for the both of you). He is not doing well at all in this chart (peregrine and in a debilitated 8th house), which probably means that he's been miserable since you left. He's about to change to a much better sign for himself, though not really for you, as Virgo is Jupiter's detriment (dislike for you). Usually a planet in its own dignity cares more about itself than others in regards to romance questions. This guy is sounding less and less like a good catch to me. Luckily, after Jupiter goes direct again, she too will go off into her own dignity (Mercury's detriment AND fall). Unfortunately, Mercury and Jupiter are not in each other's triplicity because this is a diurnal chart, not nocturnal. Mercury is peregrine to both the Moon and Jupiter. He is in Mars' face, not Jupiter's. You are in the Moon's face, not Mercury's. I think the separating opposition is showing the conflicts that you have been having thus far in the relationship. Saturn in the 9th could indicate your separation geographically, and Mars (ruler of his 5th) in his 12th does seem to indicate his secretive ways with you and in the work place. Venus is likely just showing the issue here-your wanting a stable love relationships with this person, as Venus is your 5th house ruler in his house. In other words, he holds your heart. Unfortunately, his house of secrets holds his heart. Workplace romances are rarely easy. I don't know if he's worth it, but you might want to consider getting a job elsewhere, and not just for the summer. But he may have other excuses after that... Again, this is just a horary chart... and repeating questions about a person doesn't really help to get things moving forward. If you do have such doubts about him (enough to leave for the summer), maybe that is enough in and of itself. I wish you luck, in whatever way that you go about this. I think this guy does care about you but he has a lot of problems and that you probably deserve better. The problem is that we can?t choose who we love? Quote Tue Aug 04, 2009 12:37 am

Naaah, the Moon is swift- they'll meet at 28,48 , before Moon changes the sign! So, you're right- the Moon is not VOC! Quote Tue Aug 04, 2009 1:26 am
by Tanit And you are right that considerations do differ between astrologers considerably. You are the astrologer asking the question, so this is your chart and your rules apply. We can give you ideas as to how we would read the chart if it were our own, but it is really up to you in how this is interpreted. I have learned most from a professional astrologer who primarly follows classical horary rules, and he states that when a planet is in your domicle, triplicity, etc. that it does not necessarily mean that they have feelings for you or not because these findings are not always consistent. It is only when the two planets are in mutual reception that he looks at the light that they give to each other. If he were to look at this chart, he'd likely go by the applying trine between your significators (the Moon, your secondary sig, and Mercury his main sig) indicating a positive answer to your question. He said that modern interpretations, such as assigning the Sun or Mars to men as co-sigs when they are not their primary sig or in their first house, are not found to be reliable in most scenarios. Though, he does look at planetary strength, and I'm sure he'd agree that Mercury is not doing so well here. He has often told me that Mercury can be a "bad player" in horary. 5 by PFN I'll be brief: your significator in 2nd and his in 8th never bode well in this kind of horary. The Moon on the AC tells that you want very badly to engage this relationship. Venus on the 7th oposing Moon can be one out of two things. Either he has another sweetheart or he does not return your entusiasm at all, and the idea of commitment simply does not excite him. He is about to go to his own sign as well, so beware. Quote Tue Aug 04, 2009 2:11 am

by aglaya Re: my Moon VOC comment- I post on another forum occassionally and there are people there who won't even look at a chart if the Moon is not going to make any new aspects before it leaves the sign. Even if the aspects it IS making will perfect before it leaves the sign they will call it VOC! This drives me nuts and I don't think it is accurate, as you said. The Moon here is NOT void. I don't get this- it is pretty contradictory (if I understood everything). If Moon VOC is, by deffinition, a phase when the moon will make no major aspects before leaving the sign it is in or, in other words- the condition of the Moon between the moment it performed the last major aspect with another planet in its current sign and the moment of stepping into the next sign then, how can the Moon be VOC if it is yet to perfom another aspect before leaving the current sign?! Also, some Astrologes would suggest that the Moon is not VOC if it starts applying to another planet before leaving the sign as well (an application by a favourable aspect to the Sun usually bodes well even if it is an out of sign aspect). When do they consider the Moon to be void of course, then?! Quote Tue Aug 04, 2009 3:04 pm

by aglaya if the Moon has already started the aspect in orb then it doesn't count if it has yet to perfect it or not. Since it is not a 'new'aspect then it is VOC if there are no other aspects coming up. Ahaaa, ok i get it now (I mean, I get their logic unlike until now ). So what they mean is basically that the current application does not count and that, unless it is followed by another application, the Moon is VOC ! But it still doesn't make sense as the partile aspect has not happened yet and traditionally, the Moon is not VOC if it is applying to or making an application to another planet. When I think of Moon VOC, i often remember Lee Lehman's explanation "when Void-of-course, there are no events being recorded by the Moon"! So, if the "chief of the action", the Moon, is applying to another planet, it is a promise of an action or activity. The Moon applying to the significator of the Quesited is often a good sign and we certainly do want to see it within the orb of an applying aspect- thn it is reachable and belongs to the future; hardly a dead road situation! 10 by Tanit I certainly do not agree with that definition of VOC! It's so odd because I have heard the exact opposite also by other astrologers, whereby even if the Moon will make aspects to other planets before she changes sign, she is VOC because she is not within orb of any planets at the time of the question. Both of these usages are a bit extreme, and, I would imagine, unreliable. Quote Wed Aug 05, 2009 5:52 am
by Tanit And Janders - thanks for calling me intuitive. I take that as a compliment. I am a natal Cancer ASC w/ strong intuitive focuses in my chart, and use other modes of divination than horary. My spider senses are more heightened than most, esp. regarding romance questions... Quote Wed Aug 05, 2009 6:04 am
by Deb One reason why the VOC definition becomes confusing is that the Moon being 'currently void' is often confused with the definition of being ?void in its course?. If you are interested, this article covers some of the issues http://skyscript.co.uk/moon2.html Quote Wed Aug 05, 2009 9:09 am
