Hi Rob, and thank you for that! I was thinking that maybe this CrossOver program might work well with other Windows applications that Mac can't open. The platform issue is such a pain!

I use a Mac. Crossover MAY work with various astrological programs, but it may not. Crossover doesn't officially support them. I tried Janus and had some font issues.

What works flawlessly is either Parallels or VMware Fusion. Both are in the $50-$75 range and are downloadable. You install one of those programs first, put in a Windows CD, open their wizard, and you can have Windows running as a window within your Mac. I use Janus and Solar Fire with no issues this way. You can also drag files from your Mac to Windows and vice versa. I also have a shortcut to my Mac from my Windows virtual machine.

It's pretty cool stuff.

Alternately, if you have room on your Mac you can create a Windows partition with Boot Camp which comes with Mac. I don't like this because you have to boot either Windows or Mac, but if you don't have a problem with that, it works great.

Morinus works well with CrossOver and is only 35$ and you dont have to buy windows (which is expensive!) or install windows. It runs like an app - a bit slow but at least it works... I am going to try the trial period and if keeps working i think I will buy it.

I have installed all that stuff and I had a would-be python expert try to help me yesterday to get it running, without luck - we followed those instructions pretty carefully. Morinus starts loading, and you do see the menu structure and everything and then terminal spits out errors and it hangs.

Thank you for this excellent software however - there certainly isn't anything close to it on the mac platform. I will send you the terminal errors if you could help that would be even better than a software work around!

I see. Looking forward to receiving the error message. MacOS is not popular in Hungary. The solution will be added to my homepage and your name to the Acknowledgements(if you are not against it). In the worst case I won't be able to solve it

This seems complicated, but I had an idea and sent you a changed file.
If this doesn't help then I will only be able to solve this with a MacOS.

I noticed that the Linux and the Windows wxpyhton-implementations differ a little bit.
For example on Windows if you invoked a dialog (e.g. Primary Directions by CTRL+D) and then closed it, then the personal data in the statusbar(bottom line of the window of Morinus, with the name, typeofhoroscope, datetime, long, lat) was lost. This worked on Linux, so I had to change it in case of Windows.
A more serious problem occured on Windows if the user created a revolution and rightclicked on its window and selected Positions: the program died. This also worked fine on Linux, and I only managed to solve the problem by removing the scrollbars of the Positions window on Windows.

It's obvious that there's a bigger difference between the Mac-wxpython and the linux-windows-wxpython.

So sadly, its official my fellow mac lovers - until a mac python developer willing to help rob implement it on our platform comes forward, we will have to make do with something like CrossOver or Parallels to run on Mac OS.

The CrossOver website is very well designed and instructions are easy to follow - it should be noted, though, that according to the Requirements page (http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxmac/requirements/), CrossOver only works on Intel-based Macs running OS X; it does not work on PowerPC systems.

In William Lilly's Xn Astrology vol. 3 pg. 711 there is a table used for finding the portion of the equator for the measurement of yearly time.

So my Sun is 21Gem01. I look under Gem and go down to 21 and find 62m5s which is 01:02:05. So would I in Morinus under the key use the user section then and put 01:02:05 for the user settings?
