Worried About This Flight...and...

1
I am trying to figure out this chart and would like to know 1. If the man that I dated and I will be on the same flight - 2. If it will be delayed? I ask because it just so happened my friend (the one I'm travelling with, had to change our dates due to a conflict of hers at work) and booked this flight on the same day I know he's travelling too. Also, the flight is to Las Vegas on Sept. 11! I'm a little worried about aircraft problems but I really just have an intuition a bad feeling. I'm usually right with my intuition.

Thank you for helping!!

I am Sun/Moon.

Venus and Sun = No aspect

Mars and Sun = No aspect
Mars = detriment and fall

Moon in 6 = No aspect 6th to anything

I will delay the flight? (It's already booked)

He - I can't tell if he goes or delays too. Saturn issues.

Jupiter is retro

After noting some scary signs, I decided to make an event chart - and now am more worried. As you can see, this is an event chart for take-off time:

With all your noting of ?scary? signs and listing of various and sundry planetary placements and conditions, it looks like you would do well to stay away from horary questions until you get yourself more knowledgeable and organized in astrology. You're just getting yourself all worked up and then asking others for help in relieving your worries.

How does Venus' mere appearance in the 8th house of the departure chart lead to ?loss/danger/confinement of a female figure?? Why is Venus even important?

Hi, Freedom- I'm glad Kirk answered first- he broke the ice. :) And he is entirely right - though, it happens to students of Astrology all the time (seeing deadly dangers in their first "delineated" SR chart, car crashes in horary romance charts and so on. :D ). It happens to medical students, after all, they often "catch" deadly diseases while studying the symptoms too. :)

But that is why, in my opinion, one should always have a mentor or a teacher- not only because that person will help the student understand his/her own charts ( after all, that is not the purpose of studying- we can get a reading from another, experienced astrologer any time)- but will give him/her enough examples and previously delineated charts where the student can exclude him/herself emotionally from the situation and focus onto the chart objectively instead of "freaking out" over the possible outcome. Finally- a very important word in any chart delineation is "synthesis"- that's the blending part that I mentioned to you once.

Naturally, a certain lack of objectivity and confusion caused by it is something that even the most experienced astrologers are occasionally prone to- that too is normal; but an experienced astrologer will know when it happens and will usually ask for an advice or even ask his/her colleague to do the delineation for him to make sure that he/she gets an accurate and objective reading!

As for this question- we often obey to our intuition but ...
I will delay the flight?
...the charts don't bring decisions instead of us. (I hope this means:"Will I postpone the flight?" because, make sure you are never the cause of such delays- it could cost you a lot of money! ). If someone is asking about their trip- they're is usually looking for any signs of danger or reasons not to go or are simply trying to find enough signs that they will have a successful (business, leisure etc.) trip. Still- in the end, it's the Querent that needs to make a decision if he/she will eventually go. Of course- on occasions, the chart will be suggesting that the trip will, indeed not happen but here we're talking about inevitability ("The firm will decide to send someone else on a business trip", "the Querent will lack the money" etc.).
This forum is a great place for practice as well- you can find the charts, read other people's opinions, test your own knowledge and perception without any fear of making a mistake; if the outcome turns out to be completely different from what you thought it would be- no harm done, you're not the Astrologer, you're just practicing.

Also, asking about deadly dangers (I can't help but to see it that way when someone is worried whether he/she should board on a specific plane) makes the second part of the question sound almost trivial (don't get me wrong)- we've got a very complicated mix of a romance and a safety-trip question here !
But, after seeing the date of the planned flight- it's not really the intuition, is it?! Many people are scared of flying on that date ('though, statistically- no big disaster is likely to happen on that date again) but, if you don't like the idea of travelling on 11th September- than maybe you should postpone the flight; fears and anxiousness are exhausting (little) things and, thus, a very unwelcome company during flights as well.

But, analyising a chart with the aim of determining whether an aircraft will safely get from the point "A" to the point "B" - that is a huge mission for a mundane Astrologer. I've spent years working on an airport and studying Astrology at the same time- i can assure you; hundreds and hundreds of air-crafts take off and land the very same second all around the world, some of them from the same geographic coordinates, often with the same planned take off time and Venus in the 8th in their events charts- luckily, only very few of them have actually crashed during the last 50-60 years.
Finally, every air-craft has got its own Natal chart, and so does its company, and the country under whose national flag it is operating. Delineating an event chart is not the ultimate method in such cases- check out the Mundane section here on Forum, you'll notice how complex the process of analyzing a mundane event is. ;-)

Cheers!

Kirk seems to be good guy despite his joke about me. :) I'm glad he did, as I harbour no ill feelings AT ALL.

I can give you background here. I initially heard there may be a delay for this flight - and my friend changed our booking due to her work. I remembered the guy I dated was travelling this day as well. It was merely informational - to prepare for a coincidental meeting perhaps. Anyway, I had no worries at the time of conjuring the chart. I was just checking up on something I heard. However, I showed this chart to an aquaintance and she completely freaked out and told me not to go. She mentioned a "Part of Fatality". So, I'm sure you can understand NOW I'm worried.

I have never had a fear of flying before. I've travelled all my life since I was 2 year old and I am thankful to be safe and to have visited so many beautiful places.

and FYI, this is what the person who looked at my chart said:

"Moon is conjuncting Jupiter which rules 8th house
to make matters worse ... jupiter is rejecting sun..
then Sun is conj part of fatality and life

then.. sun is peregrine and rejecting venus natural ruler of fun

jupiter is retro natural ruler of travel .. yes moon does conjunct jupiter but jupiter is cadent fixed an dretro .. which makes me believe that she should rebook to another time"

I came here because it's a better site and was hoping someone can tell me if it's safe or not. That's all.

Actually, I still don't! :) The Part of Fatality is just one of the Arabic parts and its location can be determined (calculated) for any chart! There's always The Part of Fatality..or Marriage...or Fortune....

Astrologers who use Arabic parrs intesively in their readings will usually provide a good explanation of the influence of that part onto the rest of the chart! ;-)
BTW- what do youi mean by "rejecting"?

(The 8th house is not only about dying- it's about fears as well! Notice that your ruler is also applynig to Neptune! And, keep in mind that your question was not only about the trip...)

I can ask her what she means by "rejecting". But yes, I see where you're going with this Aglaya. In fact, if Jupiter is "rejecting" the Sun, it could mean I'm not even flying perhaps.

This is why I have a love/hate relationship with horary. It's so interpretive. The fact that 8th can mean death or fears is really a big "OR" in this case. :(

Oh, but it is also about the debts, taxes and loans. That is why it is important to ask clear and comprehensible questions and be focused on the matter. Confusion in the Querent's head will often have a confusing chart as a result.

And every chart needs good interpretation. Personally- I don't see a single difference between a Natal chart delienation and a Horary chart reading when it comes to it. Some things are different, the whole system of "blending" the signs into a single reading indeed has to be learnt again but it is still a reading and that means a lot more than just a list of aspects, placements and dignities. Remember- there are only 12 houses in a chart- and so many different things, activities and qualities in life that we need to examine from them. The houses, as well as the planets, always have multiple meanings but, for what is worth- Horary astrology at least allows the Astrologer to focus onto a single sphere/matter depending upon the nature of the Question. But he/she will still have to take every placement, shape and aspect of the significant planets into consideration and draw a unique conclusion . ;-)
I can ask her what she means by "rejecting".
Well, I'm pretty sure she was talking about the signs of the Venus's and Sun's fall/detriment but still- how does she explain that? What does it mean when the ruler of the 8th is "rejecting" the ruler Querent's ruler?

And what does the "cadent fixed and retro" ruler of the 5th and the 8th actually mean? Is that the placement of the 8th ruler in a "Will I get a loan?" or "Will I have to pay off my debts this month?" or "Will I travel safely?" or "Will the two of us be on the same plane?" or some other chart? Cadency, the quality of the sign, its motion....their symbolics and meanings will always depend upon the Question.

If 8th is "rejecting" the Querent's ruler, than I think this must be positive for safety. ie: Death/harm, (which is really the "question behind the question" as you've taught me, is being repelled, so this is probably my answer. :)
