How totally bizarre! The "wrong" chart gave the right answer.. 1st,2nd,3rd AND 4th... which makes me think should we be looking at the FINISH of a race? (As Andrew says in the Norwegian election thread).

I agree the closer the better but I had difficulty finding anything to fit, even when Moon/Mars is conj Desc.

I quite like Mrs Boss in the 2.25 at Bath but she's carrying top weight and is a real outsider - at least 20/1. Might be worth an E/W fun bet....

Having received a PM regarding abbreviations on racecards, I'm posting an explanation here as it will probably be helpful to those of you who are new to horseracing.

Examples:

b g = bay gelding

ch f = chestnut filly

So the first abbreviation refers to the colour of the horse and the second refers to its gender.

c = colt; g = gelding (males)

f = filly; m = mare (females)

Always check the name of the race because some are for colts only or fillies only. So no point looking for a female horse in particular when all the runners are female, for example.

I look for race at Beverley 22 sep 2009 at 14h. and give my analyse based on John Addey's method .

5 house cusp at 1Ta 39 and first aspect is with Ve at 2Vi25. Ve is female planet. Sphere, Aven , First Hand , Flying Phoebe, Madam?X are mare (female horse) so, because Ve is female planet and Vi female sign, I think winner have to be among them.
Next, Ve is connected with blue, green and white colour.
From all of these horses only jockey of Sphere has kit in green/blue color, and as Ve is in 8 house, Sphere perfectly fits with some of the meanings of that house. Also, Ve rules round shape or objects, again fit with Sphere.
