Ficina wrote:I know we sometimes disagree on this because you use an alternative method but I have Mercury as hour-ruler, making the chart radical by triplicity.
I don't think we disagree, but sometimes we differ. The only way to check something out is by practicing it and discussing it. You can't actually see the planetary hour, can you Ficina, according to the time based system. There has to be an additional calculation or a computor program that sorts it out. If you apply the placidus house system then you will be able to observe and develop an eye for the planetary hours as you see them. Just to repeat the basis of my theory for any new readers, I observe the planetary hours as they appear in my house system, namely Regiomontanus.

There is no disagreement, we are just both working to acheive an efficient model. And to be quite honest, I am glad you are doing the other thing - so we can compare.

Boxing day! Part 1 :D :'

I want to get ahead with discussing some of these games. In particular I want to make sense out of the games that occur in the hour of Saturn with Taurus on the ascendant. I consider these charts radical since Saturn shares the same powers as the sign on the ascendant, ie. cold and dry. I am looking for a qualitative difference from when the Lord of the hour shares the same powers, not as the sign in the ascendant, but as it's Lord, ie. Gemini by night ruled the cold and dry Mercury in the hour of Saturn. My thesis is that Saturn may manage the ascendant when agreeing with it's lord, but when sympethizing with the ascendant alone - this is not the same as an OK from the Lord, which still keeps control of this point. Whether I can find anything useful in football matches that confirms this mechanism - that is my question. And can we detect any particularities when the Lord of the hour agrees with the ascendat by powers - does this grant favour to the home team or the favourite?

As a second consideration, Saturn is in mutual reception with Venus, that puts things back to normal and supports some sort of contract or radicality.

Boxing day! Part 2 :D

Championship
Watford - Nottingham Forrest,
12.00 GMT
Odds: 2,95 3,20 2,60
Asc 11AR20 MC 4CP21 Moon 25AR24 VOC POF 1LE53
Day Saturn, Hour Mercury/(Moon) - Mercury stationary - Moon VOC
The Lord of the hour is on the change and the guards are on the bridge. Saturn is in exact square the with the MC and this could put a lid on the match. I am going for a draw, but if the lord of the hour is considered to be Mercury - then Mercury is in the same sign as Venus, L7. The Sun (a luminary) is on the MC indicating the favourite - and being on the antiscia of the fortune, Jupiter. This would give Nottingham the upper hand.

Sheffield W - Newcastle, 12.45 GMT
Odds: 4,75 3,45 1,70
Asc 6TA13 MC 13CP44 Moon 25AR48 POF 27LE09
Day Saturn, Hour Saturn - same powers as the ascendant, mr Venus.
As a matter of fact, Chiron casts his antiscia to the descendant - I am not at all sure what that means. Reserve team? Different from the others and premier leauge next year? The Moon is VOC applying trine to POF and the Sun is trine Asc. Although the aspects are slightly wide, I think this double virtue indicates the favourite. But the L1 is mr L10. :???:

Premiership
Birmingham - Chelsea,
12.45 GMT
Odds: 6,00 3,75 1,55
Asc 4TA06 MC 13CP23 Moon 25AR48 POF 25LE02
Same time as the previous game in the Championship. the particularity is the opposition between POF and Jupiter. Jupiter is a fortune and exalted in Cancer, the sign that rules Chelsea. So although I think that the price for B'ham is good and overated, I still thin Chelsea will get it. Noting this particular aspect between POF and Jupiter is important because other games that do not show this aspect may feel obliged to divert elsewise. Note that B'ham is Virgo - so actually Jupiter in aspect POF could be an antidote to their success on this day.

The problem with this game is Saturn, LHr, inconjunct the ascendant. The inconjuncts tend to open the doors for the outsiders, but because the inconjunct is to the asc - and maybe because the radicality contract, I think the disadvantage is to B'ham. Rather, since Jupiter is exalted in Cancer I am interested in looking for some remarkable performance from Chelsea. Something like a 1-4 result, or something. It's just thinking loud.

Boxing day! Part 3 :'

Premiership
Liverpool - Wolves,
17.30 GMT
Odds: 1,29 5,00 10,00
Asc 24CN28 MC 24PI24 Moon 28AR23 POF 17SC47
Day Saturn, Hour Moon - rules asc, radical but VOC
This is so interesting. Wolves could beat L'pool in view of the latters current form, but on the other hand the Reds are desperate for a win. Liverppol are in a period that has been both truly VOC and barren. Are we picking up on something here? The closest aspect to POF is the sinister square to the infortune Mars cast below the horizon. That guarantees nothing. The price for Wolves is good, elsewise stay off!

Championship

Odds: 2,25 3,25 3,00
Asc 0LE33 MC 4AR33 Moon 28AR40 POF 24SC06
Day Saturn, Hour Moon - LHr VOC, not radical
Saturn, L7, is on the IC. I believe we are talking of a win to the underdogs or a draw.
Inspite of me liking Leicester as a team. :)

From the 'Nobody gets the ascendant' thread:
John wrote:If Blackburn play in dark blue-saturn they are beneath the horizon.
I think saturn is the stronger planet, so I go for Blackburn if they play in their third strip!!
Asc 23GE48 MC 15AQ08 Moon 27AR01 POF 15LI51
Day Saturn, Hour Sun/(leaning to Venus) - triplicity, Sun in same sign as Mercury.
The interesting thing with this chart is Mercury, L1, stationary an in the degree of the Moon's North Node. I am uncertain what this may signify, but considering that Mercury is in the terms of Mars in Carpicorn, this may be yet another testimony of it being Blackburn's day. Would it be possible to suggest an away win with a two-goal clearance for Blackburn?

It's all draws!

Watford - Nottingham F 0-0 :'
Sheffield W - Newcastle 2-2 :,
B'ham - Chelsea 0-0 :o

Sheffield W took an early goal that Newcastle soon counteracted and the score at half-time was 1-2. This looked perfect but then the goal in the second half went thre wrong way. Birmingham - Chelsea? Well, Saturn LHr inconjunct the ascendant? No goal-orgie as I was looking for - that is a fact! Those two last games started at the same time, although the ascendants are two degrees apart. I must really think through what this type of radicality does for the home team.

I'm happy enough with the Man C and Sunderland games.
Not suprised with the Wigan game, that much confusion with colours I knew I should leave well alone.

Andrew, it looks as if the two goal idea didn't work this time. I also focus on the time of the first goal on sky super 6. Which seems to be fairly close to when the planetry hour changes.

When the Lord of the hour agrees with the ascendant by natural powers, ie the Hr of Saturn, Taurus ascending, both cold and dry, then this adds a token to the home team or that team represented by the ascendant?

This could be significant! Thank you!

Liverpool - Wolves 2-0, after Wolves had a player sent off in 8 minutes into the 2nd half.
Leicester - Sheff U 2-1, the winning goal was scored on a penalty. :-cry

Arsenal - Villa, 13,30 GMT
Odds: 1,70 3,50 5,00
Asc 27TA16 MC 26CP29 Moon 9TA27 POF 0LI47
Day Sun, Hour Venus - radical by sign
This combination of radicality is good for the favourite, or at least seems to save it. Mars, L7, is not doing much, but Moon is cadent in the 12th an applies by anitcia. However, the stronger testimony appears to be POF in the same sign as Saturn, L10, and in square Venus LHr + L1. It therefore seems reasonable that the favourite shall win. Inspite of me cheering for Villa.

Hull - ManU, 16.00 GMT
Odds: 8,00 4,35 1,40
Asc 10CN25 MC 4PI02 Moon 10TA52 POF 15SC15
Day Sun , Hour Saturn
The chart is not radical. less you take the Moon in exact sextile the ascendant and the Sun hanging below the descendant. The LHr rules the descendant. This should be enough for ManU to capture all points in this game. They are favourite by odds.

Arsenal/Villa
Venus (L1 and hour-ruler) conjunct Pluto. Which way is it going to jump this time? :? My latest thinking is that perhaps it is more detrimental to an underdog than a favourite. We shall see. Moon conjunct antiscion Mars L7 is a minor testimony for Villa. I think Villa should get something out of the game, even if it's only a goal. If the Pluto thing works, then it might be something more.

The away team scored every time in the 5 recent occasions that these two fine teams met in the premiership. That is going back to 14 Mars 2007. I notice that all these games are either draws or away wins. The home team has yet to win such a combat. Arsenal will get no easy job.

I've gone for a home win, but we could easily be in draw-territory.

I've just won a bit of money on this game already, having gone for the 0-0 half-time scoreline :) Odds were 2/1 (3.00). I thought we may have to wait a long time for a goal. This was based on Moon being in 12th and a long way off from making any aspects, plus no planets crossing angles during the first half. (Mars will cross the IC during the second half.)
