However, you might consider that there is both a calendar change and the New Year festivities were moved in the time interval that you are mentioning. If you do search through the historical material, maybe you could take note those years where an eclipse occurs either on the solstice or equinox - or anything else that you thing makes up a spectacular eclipse. We could certainly run a discussion on such topics. :'
