I just want to point out that the game started late (about 3 mins I think) due to the one minute's silence which is being observed before all the games, so the Ascendant had already changed signs by the time the game kicked off. I don't know how long they'll continue doing this before the games but it's something we should perhaps watch out for.

This is Ghana's first game due to Togo being disqualified. The group is reduced to 3 teams and winner of this game is qualified for the next round. The looser is out. With a draw - anything can still happen. POF is conjunct the infortune Mars, who is lord of the 4th house. That could upen up ofr the underdog. I haven't been able to make sense out of these games so far, so I'm staying off. My best guess is a draw.

I'm glad this tournement is coming to an end. Fortunately, it was not cancelled as I thought might occur with the solar eclipse on 15 January, but my opinion is that it has been messy and unhappy affair from start to end. I, for one, haven't been able to make any sense out of it and lost heart before things got going. It began with the terrible attack upon the team of Togo, killing 3 people and then with the team being disqualified when it failed to meet to their first match. The question of security, or lack of it, continued to be an issue through the tournement.

Then there was the opening match between Angola and Mali ended 4-4 with Angola letting in 4 goals in the last 15 minutes of the match. It is still hard to figure out what actually happened. Mali appeared to be the stronger team but played absolutely toothless until the 79th minute and then Angola started to do things way beyond reason. I don't get it.

Later Angola and Algeria quit football and both qualified to the quarterfinals by delivering an outrageously passive 0-0 game at the expense of Mali. On Thursday Egypt won their semi and qualified to the finals, beating Algerie 4-0, but not without Algeria receiving 3 RED CARDS, including the goal keeper Faouzi Chaouchi.

Today Nigeria and Algeria play for the third place. On Sunday Egypt meet Ghana in the finals. I hope the tournement has a worthy end.
