Will the business make allot of money in the next 6 months

1
Hi there.

About 6 months ago I got laid off from my job due to restructuring from my company. However, I have had a business that I have been doing on the side for about 2 years.

I had no doubts that I could return to the regular corporate working world if I wanted to. But I wanted to give it a shot of trying my business out full time. So here I am for the last 6 months.

In the last 6 months, there has been some definitely some good growth and winning of some good accounts. However, I'm still not making as much money as I used to with the combination of stable employment and my having this business as extra income.

So I decided to ask a Horary question if the business will make allot of money in the next 6 months. The date, time and location. I've also tried to post a picture

DATE : FEB 10th 2010
TIME : 1:25am
PLACE : TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA
RISING : 21 DEGREES SCORPIO

The most worrying aspect of this chart is the ruler of the 1st(Mars) and the Ruler of the 10th Mercury (Success) are head into a direct opposition with each other. Which looks like I could be headed for disaster. However, the saving grace seems to be that the aspect will be frustrated and prohibited by the ruler of the 3rd and co-ruler of the 4th.

The moon aspects don't tell much, as only as sextile to Uranus - Co-ruler of the 3rd being made. And the last aspect almost is a conjunction to the ruler of the 10th. However it seems Mercury is in refranation and changes signs before that aspect gets a chance to be made.

Other saving graces are ruler of the 11th of Business income will change in a few degrees to Pisces where it is exalted.

Although, overall I am pleased with the progress the business has made looking at it in a realistic light and expecting hurdles along the way. Still I'm not making the income I'm used to (Though its not hurting me financially yet or causing any strain). And this potential opposition of the ruler of the 10th and 1st have me worried.

Excuse if I'm mixing up some of my terminology, my horary is a little rusty and I'm getting back into practice.

Any thoughts on the chart?

Hi effdin - interesting chart. I had a very similar one yesterday involving a university question with the same degree rising. It has the fixed star Unuk close to the ASC: http://www.skyscript.co.uk/serpens.html From what I understand, the star especially seems to deal with some sort of regeneration/transformation, though there is a malefic association to it, as would an ASC in the via combusta. It seems to suggest some sort of process where you have to shed some skin somehow. The via combusta is sometimes a warning to the astrologer/querent that the person may be approaching dangerous territories and that they may receive damage by the question even, since it may not be the best news (the news that they want to hear).

Your ruler Mars is pretty debilitated, though it is at least in an OK house and has sect. Mars retro peregrine in Leo can show someone who is normally driven and confident/bold/impulsive be more confused and hesitant in regards to their goals. Moon is in detriment in Capricorn in the 2nd house of finances, which seems to show radicality for your finances question. The Moon is decreasing in light though and below the horizon in a night chart, which shows that tough times are likely to be ahead (or continue for you basically). Capricorn tends to be a sign of struggling and hard work. Your 2nd house finances ruler is Jupiter in its domicile though, which is a bit nice, though there is also an applying combustion of the Sun (out of sign but still close), which might be unexpected and eat up your monies soon. Jupiter is also a diurnal planet in a night chart (although below with the Sun) and occidental, so its not at its strongest point right now. I usually associate planets at the 4th as at their lowest point in the chart. It's like when you have a Saturn transit at your IC in natal, which shows a low point in the achievement of your goals. Such a placement doesn't usually last forever of course, but it does tend to show that things are a little low right now financially or soon (but might eventually improve). The Sun is also your dispositor and a natural significator for achievement/goals, and it too is low in the chart and also in detriment, which suggests the same.

The Mercury opposition is not so great, and it's in the 3rd, which seems to suggest some sort of writing/communications type of connection here. Mercury-Mars oppositions tend to relate to heated words, bad communications, legal problems, and stuff like that. Mercury is also of course your 10th ruler, and it's at a crises degree, showing some sort of change about to happen. A Virgo MC might suggest more than one job going on, so maybe you will have to seek employment besides your business, perhaps after some losses (the Sun combustion of Jupiter and the Mars-Saturn sextile). It might have a 3rd house connections somehow (another job).

I didn't check, but I think Mercury evades a conjunction with the Moon, but it also increases in dignity in Aquarius. This also means the Moon might be considered VOC in the chart, and that you should expect the status quo to basically continue. The Moon has a separating aspect with Saturn, and is received by Saturn, and it is still being felt, and also a sextile to Jupiter, showing a 2nd/11th house connection, but Moon applies to nothing else after that. I would more likely think it suggests a change is necessary in your business/job-seeking, or will occur no matter what, since I believe the Moon meets Mercury right at the beginning of Aquarius.

The 11th house deals with income from a business, and you have Venus ruling the 11th, which is not so great in Aquarius right now, but it will increase in dignity soon in a sign of its exaltation. This may again show that things are not so great right now, but there may be a promise of improvement later. Venus in a dual sign in Pisces might also suggest two sources of income. Saturn sits on the 11th cusp also and is retro and in a bad sextile aspect with your significator, showing an obstacle with this house that is causing some anxiety for you. Saturn rules the 3rd house and you are in the 9th, so there is a 3rd/9th connection to your business maybe - a business related to those houses.

A lot of things are changing signs here, which seems to correlate with the fixed star, saying you're going through some sort of transformation right now. It seems like your monies might decrease a bit and that you'd have to seek another job maybe while running your business?

Thanks for your reply Tanit!

Most likely I'll be okay with financial resources to the end of the year. Since I have savings to substain me for another 6 months even if I didn't make a dime. And even if I made about 40% of what I made when I was employed, I'm okay throughout the year and able to cover all basic expenses like Mortgages car payment, etc.

However, really the worse case scenario is what you outlined, I'd have to return to the workforce and continue the business as a part time business...which still really isn't the worse situation, but I'd really like to make this work and having been putting in tons of hours to make it happen.

I am wondering about the 3rd/9th axis though, does it have meaning for you or your type of business? My university horary seemed overly negative for me too. And, like you, I was Mars intercepted (boxed in) the 9th. The Sun rules over the sign intercepted there, and it seemed to suggest some sort of stall in my goals. The only thing I'd caution is that there might be something unexpected with the applying Sun combustion of Jupiter (some sort of unexpected thing that could eat your money), so I'd be extra careful on finances. I'm sure you already are with a Cap Moon in the 2nd!

I also had a VOC Moon that met a sig at the zero degree (Moon-Sun sextile). I hope the chart works out for both of us!

Hi Tanit.

Well my business is an Internet Marketing Business. Assisting businesses with Web Design, Search Engine Optimization, Social Media promotion, conversion. So that would be where my business relates to 3rd and 9th (Computers, Communication and Publishing).

Good call.
