I wanted to start this new topic file where we could post certain conclusive quotes from Astrologers we have read, who have seriously studied the field of Mundane Astrology. Please limit your quotes to their conclusions pertaining to the field of Mundane Astrology; and, if you have or see a good chart example exemplifying these conclusive statements-- please offer the chart data. Also, it would help all of us to offer any web links that may show future dates pertaining to a particular astronomical/astrological factor discussed as pertinent to material quoted in this topic file. Hopefully this will better help us learn, see and understand manifestations of certain mundane astrological/astronomical influences in the future.

Planetary Nodes and Super Full Moon perigee Cycles, taken from Cycles, an article by Mary Downing, page 85, ?Essentials of Intermediate Astrology,? Copyright 1995 by NCGR, Inc.

??I consider nodal points and other orbital factors as hot spots, which one ignores at one?s peril. Regarding lunar nodes, I subscribe to the standard Cosmobiology interpretation of a connection with the public at large. I consider that a malefic planet configured with the lunar node (in an event chart) was often the signature of fatality. (Perhaps ?closure? would be a more politic term.) When any planetary configuration connects with nodes, I?m sure the corresponding event will be public and not private, which is one of the reasons that I consider personal socio-religious interpretations inadequate. In the financial markets any given planetary configuration will incite a greater movement if there is temporally corresponding nodal or perihelion activity from any planet. When a transit or planetary event is heavily interrelated to planetary nodes, put a mental exclamation point after it. The difference on the stock market is extraordinary, and there must be a pandemic corresponding intensity in all human interactions. Latitude and declination cycles have noticeable economic correlations. I consider both maxima and 0 degrees nodal positions very significant. I use almanacs and ephemeredes to mark lunar apogee and perigee, and the nearest passage of the planets to earth. In the case of nodes and perihelion, we have ample evidence that they correspond to physical and mass economic cycles, so we must consider incorporating them into individual charts. There are precious few directions on just how to do this however. The reading list below is ?it.? Welcome to the new frontier.?

An excellent example for many mundane principles of Mary Downing?s above quotes, pertains to the recent Chilean 8.8 earthquake and is posted at: http://skyscript.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5173 . I believe this 8.8 quake is the 7th strongest earthquake recorded in our modern era. This chart is posted in this link topic along with some reference threads to the all important Super Full Moons (perigee cycles) that have been correlated by other astrologers (and their web links) with strong storms & earthquakes. Also, other important astrological/astronomical principles such as Paran Configurations (the most potent of all astrological configurations) are stated on threads in the 8.8 quake topic. ***Note in the Chilean 8.8 quake chart-- Saturn and the Lunar Nodes was in Paran Formation (on the angles). This Paran Nodal factor strongly reinforces Mary Downing's above quoted references to the importance of planetary nodes.
