by PallasAthene Probably a better bet for increasing your money : ) Will you have time to look at the Grand National, 10th Apr? Quote Fri Mar 19, 2010 4:19 pm

by Deb Thanks for posting the Grand National Chart PA, and reminding us that it is impending. I don't know much about any sport, but once a year I have been known to risk a pound at the bookies on this race. I will definitely take a look and come back later. Deb Quote Thu Apr 01, 2010 9:24 am
by PallasAthene Thanks Deb! Is the moon closest enough to the angle to make the favourite win? And if anyone is near Bath on the 10th, the Bath Astrology Forum are giving a presentation on the astrology of horse racing, with a view to picking the winners in time to place bets! Here's the full list of runners. But sometimes they drop out nearer the race. http://www.grand-national-guide.co.uk/g ... unners.php Quote Thu Apr 01, 2010 9:28 am
by Deb ooh I think that's a cadent Moon and not an angular one. Sounds like that will be a fun meeting at Bath. I need to revise my rules on how to get this wrong according to traditional technique before making my prediction. 176 by Deb Putting any kind of traditinal theory to one side for a moment, my instincts are usually drawn to the most angular planet, or the aspect that is closest to perfection, as representing the theme that comes out in the event. So here I am thinking that Saturn retrograde in the 1st, in the very last degree of Virgo, opp Uranus in the 7th, has got to be significant somehow. Also, asc-ruler on the 9th cusp - a foreign entry, conjunct Venus - a filly? Quote Thu Apr 01, 2010 9:45 am
by PallasAthene Yes I agree on looking for the most dominant aspect... last year's chart had saturn opposing mars, 2/8 axis I think. * 2nd, 3rd and 4th all had names that suit that theme. And all are running this year... http://www.grand-national.me.uk/grandna ... esults.php I will try and post the 09 chart as well... where Mon Mome came from heaven knows! * edit: actually across 1/7 axis Last edited by PallasAthene on Mon Apr 05, 2010 4:35 pm, edited 1 time in total. 178 by Goca I would use John Addey's method and then we have Pl in 5 house as first aspected planet from 5H cusp. As 5 house is about entertaintment, and Pl keyword is underneath, hidden I would chose "Backstage" as winner. 179 by Deb This 'name-picking' game is a lot of fun. At this stage I can't help being drawn to 'Comply or Die', picking out the 8th house Sun and the Moon-Pluto sextile that does a green pointy thing to Mars. Quote Thu Apr 01, 2010 1:21 pm
by PallasAthene An early pick from Gocca! : ) That's great! What about Backstage's colours.. do you think a little pale for pluto in cap? I was looking at the yod (I thinks it's a green pointy thing lol) to mars in leo on the 12th.. and got the same horse. Quote Thu Apr 01, 2010 1:23 pm
