20 by amandaW Final is close to solar eclipse ( not visible from SA obviously) but with all the world watching it might be important... "The universe is full of magical things, patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper" Eden Phillpotts
21 by Ficina Thanks for posting the charts, Andrew. Last week I did have a look at the chart for the final to see if it might describe the finalists. I've never approached a chart in this way before so this is an experiment. As Amelia says, there is an eclipse on the day, visible in Argentina and Chile which may be significant for these two teams. The Moon/Sun conjunction (which perfects during the game) is in Cancer and with Neptune sitting on the Ascendant, might suggest a watery country like Holland for example. Those are my thoughts so far. Does anyone else have any ideas on who the finalists might be, using either this chart or any other?
23 by ciuboda Looking on Neptune on AS and ruler of AS being Uranus - both retrogrades it makes me think that the winner will be a team which already won the cup before. Jupiter close to Uranus (AS ruler) might indicate a big team - maybe the biggest in terms of glory and winnings. Counting also the fact that the eclipse will be in South America my first option for the winner will be Brazil. The Venus-Midheaven on locational map is crossing Brazil for final time. Also Brazil is watery country. It's also interesting how Jupiter-Uranus will influence the games. Uranus will switch to retrograde movement on beginning of July. I think that we will have some surprises on early games and some big names will lose important games. Living Astrology Blog

I don't know whether I can take the winner of the tournement from the event chart and that is why I personally lean on a horary. Brazil are ranked 2nd by the bookmakers at present, after Spain. In view of the horary, I also favor Brazil, seeing that the ascendant is in Virgo, receiving the trine of Pluto, Mercury is in the exaltation degree of the Moon (present rating silver), and since Mercury is retrograde the title is returned from the champions of 2006 to the winners of 2002, Brazil. However, I am uncertain about my thoughts on the Moon being joined to Jupiter in Pisces that caused me to suggest Portugal. Another thought that struck me was following Mercury's mutual reception with intercepted Venus in Gemini in the 10th of the horary chart. Because this is a masculine/positive sign, Venus placement in Gemini gives leaning towards Venus' masculine/positive domicile, which is Libra. Libra is associated with Agentina. Argentina - Brazil in the final could be an exciting possibility, but I think it important to examine the chain of events and victories that could make such a final possible.
