by Tom I took a different route and used a different country. Korea has been in the news of late and whether this is just saber rattling or the potential for a war remains to be seen. If North Korea deliberately sunk a South Korean Warship, this would seem to be more than saber rattling. Beginning with the Aries Ingress cast for Seoul South Korea, we note Mars in the 7th (Placidus cusps) and Mars is the exaltation ruler of the 1st. Not good, but Mars is in the 8th sign. Not great but less of an indicator of war I would think. However the south node is in the 7th (house and sign) and Pluto is on the ASC. Mars is in a partile trine and mutual reception with the Sun who rules the 8th house of death. The Moon, the people, is on the violent fixed star Algol (piled up corpses), and rules the 7th house of war. Mars also rules the MC. Now if we move to the Uranus Ingress and cast the chart for the same place, we see Mars has moved from the 7th to the 1st, bringing the 7th house to the nation at large. The Moon moved from one violent fixed star (Algol) to another (Antares). The Moon rules the 12th house of treachery, sneak attacks, etc. and is posited in the 4th. The Jupiter (Lord 8 death) - Saturn (Lord 7 war) opposition is very tight - less than one degree and it occurs on the 8th - 2nd axis. Positive's, i.e. no war? The Moon is separating from an opposition with the Sun and is, in the minds of some void of course for a while until it trines Mars. In other words things hardly go on and we hope that means they go on as is with difficulty, but do not lead to war. The Saturn - Jupiter opposition is separating as well and perhaps this indicates the worst is over. But Uranus hitting the Aries point will occur twice more. Those charts may well be worth looking at as well. Quote Fri May 28, 2010 12:26 pm
by Mark Those charts may well be worth looking at as well. I agree. Thanks for the interesting analysis. I had been intending to create a thread on the Korean crisis and your post has righly brought this up. I will attempt to do this over the weekend. Would you be ok if I cut and pasted your response on there too? I was wondering why you didn't look at the ingress chart for North Korea cented on Pyongyang too? I know the two capitals are not that distant but it might also be an interesting comparison. I have also been trying to research a national chart for North Korea. I dont think the date Nicholas Campion gives is actually correct. Seems like a lot is going on today. War threats in Korea, and terrorist attacks today by Islamic extremists in Pakistan and Maoists in India. So many charts and too little time! That and the excessive use of Chiron are my two pet hates in modern astrology. :-) Well, there are people who insert every little piece of rock that has lately been detected into their chart... As to the sabian symbols: Dane Rudhyar, as far as I know, must have devoted a lot of his time to these symbols. I must confess: the greater part of them does not refer to any chart I know. However, at times I come across an interesting coincidence.Well, that, of course, may be mere chance. But there are some degrees that really work: a) the aforementioned 17th degree Virgo b) the second degrees of Aquarius and Taurus - both have mre or less the same content - "a thunderstorm" - something totally unexpected happening, driven by a tremendous energy. - I have found this to be true in dozens of charts - e.g. the New Moon preceding the collapse of the Berlin Wall: AC 2nd degree Taurus (with SAT/NE conj MC and JU conj IC). I would also add that the second degrees of Leo and Scorpio are of that quality - although obviously less strong. - At present NE is on the antisc. degree of the second degrees of Taurus - 28,x Aquarius. This seems to have given an additional impact to some of the events that have taken us by surprise. ((It might be worth mentioning that in the charts of the EURO and the European Central Bank (Frankfurt - 1st June, 1998, midnight) we find NE on the 2nd degree of Aquarius. And in the progressed chart of that bank we find AC conj. NE for 2010 - with NE still on that degree - square SAT, 1st degree Taurus)). Regards, LL Quote Sat May 29, 2010 7:17 am
by daz madrigal Well I'd already argue that 1 aries is at work in the recent focus on female prostitution both in Brazil and the UK, the impulse for it is slightly different but the aims of lifting women out of these sad circumastance remains the same. Right now we're at a very early stage but I'd expect to hear more about it in the coming years. The symbol is 'a woman emerging out of the ocean' but right now I'd view it as more akin to a murky muddy pond and would - more tentatively - view Obamas Gulf Coast beach? tour as being symbolic of a potential female politician making hay out of the unfortunate circumstances whilst Obama struggles with ailing popularity. I think there is a tendency to view the more actional degrees such as 'a volcano eruption' and as you say the more dynamic 2nd degrees of each sign as being more important than some of the more subtle degree interpretations. But I certainly do not want to state that "the rest" is more or less meaningless. Howver, I've in many cases been unable to refer the symbols to any specific charts. I would certainly not mind having my list of "meaningful" degrees enlarged. Quote Sat May 29, 2010 12:20 pm
by daz madrigal Well I'm more practised in the arts than science, so maybe that is the difference of interpretation, maybe more visual creativity is needed in symbology rather than the more exacting, mathematically measured approach of the scientifically minded. I've just watched a BBC news report full of images redolent of UR 1 Aries symbology. A guy flying up and over the white cliffs of Dover lifted across the Channel by 55 helium filled balloons, earlier and rather less joyously the remains of one dead woman prostitute are lifted from the bottom of a local river; others are expected shortly. Even the peice about Brazils emerging economy began with the familiar image of beautiful brown skinned girls coming out from the ocean at Rio's Copacabana beach and then I remembered that they always use this image when reporting from Brazil (either that or Brazil playing football!). No doubt we'll also see some new emerging country coming near to taking the World Cup by surprise; similarly with the Eurovision Song Contest, a nation new to the contest would have better than expected chances. 23 by Melina One possible interpretation for Uranus? ingress in Aries has to do with new "breakthroughs" for people that are different, uranian in many ways. I think that in the case of Argentina, the passing of the gay marriage bill ( ) on thursday 15th?s very early hours is connected with the Uranus/Jupiter conjunction in Aries opposing Argentina?s natal Jupiter in 00? Scorpio. Best to you, Melina www.starryherald.com.ar Quote Fri Jul 16, 2010 10:25 pm
by Mark Hello Melina, Yes that story was even picked up here in the UK. Things are certainly changing in Argentina. Very different from the trend in sub-saharan Africa where homosexuality is increasingly a criminal offence carrying sentences as long as murder in some western countries. I think that in the case of Argentina, the passing of the gay marriage bill ( ) on thursday 15th?s very early hours is connected with the Uranus/Jupiter conjunction in Aries opposing Argentina?s natal Jupiter in 00? Scorpio. Like most countries there are a few national charts floating around for Argentina. Which one are you using? I will put it up for display.
