Odds of favourites

I checked the odds for favourites to play each other at the different stages of the play offs.

Brasil and Spain can meet in the final if they both win their group or come in second, otherwise they will meet in the round of 16.

Brasil and Argentina can meet in the final if they both win their group or come in second, otherwise they can meet in a semi-final.

Brasil and Germany can meet in the final if they both win their group or come in second, otherwise they can meet in a semi-final.

Brasil and England can meet in the final if one of them fails to win its group, otherwise they can meet in a quarter-final if both win or in a semi-final if they both come in second.

Argentina may play Spain in the final if one of them fails to win its group, otherwise they can meet in a semi-final.

Argentina and Germany may play in the final of one of them fails to win its group, otherwise they can meet in a quarter-final.

Argentina and England may play in the final if both win their group or come in second, otherwise they can meet in a round of 16 game.

Argentina can meet the Netherlands in the final if they both win their group or come in second, otherwise they can meet in a semi-final.

England and Germany may play in the final if they both win their group or come in second, otherwise they can meet in a round of 16 game.

Looking at the chart of final game, these are the teams that best suit the colours, AC saturn in virgo v DC sun in cancer, imo. Thanks for working all that out! Probability nightmare for me..

Profit chart for the above prediction.. what do you think? L7 applies to L1 & L2... unfortunately, L7 is not translating from L8 to L2 as antiscia of mars gets in the way... Lent Sports Astrology to someone, must get it back!

Hello,

I think its a hard luck. Saturn the lord of ASC and 2nd in 8th is very telling for your desire to profit from the bet. The Moon indeed is appying to Saturn, the lord of 1st and 2nd. Her previous aspect was conjuction with the Sun, the lord of the 8th. A good token bringing virtue from the Sun to Saturn. But I am afraid that a square does not work if you wish to win something, there needs a trine or at least a sextile. Besides the Moon squares Saturn (dispositor of POF) without reception, not very well when it depends on entire luck.

Yet POF rises (just about) and NN is in 1st.. Saturn in the 8th.. in this case shows I want his money?

I was thinking more about moon being L7 the bookie. Is it enough for L7 to apply to L2? There is reception, I think? Moon is saturn's triplicity by day.. saturn is in moon's triplicity by night.. are you very strict about day and night triplicities? I think it shows the bookie getting my money.

Overall I won't be betting based on this chart because of saturn ruling L1 AND L2.. I will be checking that book as soon as I can get it back! Not too bothered about the square, just means I have to walk to the bookies to get the winnings and I'm v lazy!

Thank you Jan for your input and possibly saving me from ruin : )

How do I calculate the almutem of 1st, 2nd, 7th and 8th cusps? I think it will still be saturn, but I'm not sure how to calculate correctly? Do I include a negative value for detriment and fall? Do I include triplicity for day AND night or only according to the chart ie day OR night?
Is the almutem of 7th and 8th cusp jupiter in both cases?
Thank you.

I prefer to use both by day and day and by night and night triplicity rulers. So, according to me, there is no reception. Moon is unhappy in Gemini (12 th from its house Cancer). The applying square exactly means that the bookie is getting your money, or you are going to part with your money.
I noticed, whenever I had the lord of 2nd in 8th, it means a sure loss. When the lord of 8th is in 2 nd, it is usally a win.

Thank you Janis, I agree that I am flogging a dead horse here (flat football??). Not least because of the difficulty when 2 houses are shown by the same planet.. hey we can ask.. doesn't mean we will get a straight answer.
It has been a good chart for me as it has lead me look at almutens in more detail.. and if my calculations are correct.. we now have L7 and L8 with the same almuten planet.
And I think you are right to consider the significance of saturn as L1 (and L2) since almuten of L7 and L8 now appears to be jupiter....
There is an interesting thread here which I will study in more detail..

I have come across almutens in practice through Nicky Smutts work in fertility astrology which some of you may know.. and she makes a very convincing case for the compound.

Anyway, which ever way you look at it, this seems to be a chart which is saying "null and void" which ever way you look at it. Fair enough.. we ask the deamon, but the deamon is not obliged to answer : ) Actually, she has!

Back to the odds... who do you think will win? Based on Astrology, of course.

I do not think that Jupiter can be considered as Almuten of VIII (it has only a pair of minor dignities). I think that Almuten shall have, apart from a couple of minor dignities, a big one (house or exaltation). Triplicities and terms do not work very well (sometimes yes and sometimes no) since there are much contraversies in opinions on this point. Minor dignities usally add some flavour. Morino considers that a planet has a greater impact on the house in which it is than on the house it rules. In this case Jupiter is in 2nd and is the ruler of intercepted Pisces. Its dispositor Mars in 8 th (the house of loss) probably means a loss. Besides Saturn the lord of 2 nd 8th, peregrine (if we do not count his resemblance in humour with Virgo, both dry and cold) is not good.

As to which will win the cup I have already provided my astrological reasoning in forum. So you can read. It is Argentina.
