Melina wrote:I?m no specialist in this sports astrology branch, but I?ll give it a try with Mexico-Argentina ( Very Happy ).

They will play next Saturday, June 27th in Johannesburg at 20.30 (local time).

ASC. 16? Aquarius
SATURN: 28? Virgo (8th house)
SUN: 6? Cancer (5ht house)
MOON: 20? Capricorn (12th house)

I give Argentina the Ascendant, for it is the favourite and Aquarius matches the light blue/white shirt or the dark blue shirt they wear.
Mexico is Leo (which also matches Mexico?s historical relationship with the Sun).

I believe Argentina will win, for the Moon will trine Saturn (and it is the only aspect it will perfect), even though we?re talking about an 8th house Saturn and a 12th House Capri Moon. There are interesting matches between the chart of the game and Argentina?s: the Moon of the game is conjunct Argentina?s natal moon and the Ascendant is 3 degrees away from Argentina?s 5th house. The match?s moon is also conjunct the Sudden Advancement Lot, which should also favor Argentina.
There is a relationship between the Moon in Capricorn, disposited by Saturn in Virgo, disposited by Mercury in Cancer, and back to the Moon again.
On the other hand, the Sun (Mexico) has no special dignities, although it rules the hour of the chart.

So, my question is: why the 8th and the 12th houses appear in this chart? Does something smell dirty for the upcoming match? Or maybe the connection between the 8th and the 12th is showing the game will not be won in the expected way? (maybe a penalty will make the difference)?
Argentina 3 -1 Mexico

Well done, Melina :' Regarding your question, I suggest it describes Argentina's first goal which should have been disallowed for offside. Yet another refereeing error which gave rise to a certain amount of unpleasantness at half-time Not that it made any difference in the end though, with Argentina winning by two clear goals.

Brazil - Holland
July 2, Port Elizabeth
Kick - off - 16:00
ASC - 23:30:39 Sagittarius
Hour - Saturn

The chart is not radical for there is disagreement between the lord of hour (Saturn) and ASC.
As there is no pronounced favourite, I will use the colour method. If Dutch play in orange and black they get ASC (Jupiter in Aries).
Acc dignities for Jup 15, Mer 1, ess dignities Jup 6, Mer 2. A pretty significant dominance of ASC team.

Saturn, the lord of hour, is disposed in X and is the dispositor of North Node and R Pluto both disposed in I. Saturn rules DSC by triplicity; but being in X he opposes IV, the success house of DSC team. North Node in I strengthens ASC team. Pluto in I trine MC (orb about 20 min) seems also to be an advantage for ASC team.

POF being 3 degrees away from MC seems to be an advantage for ASC team, but in my understanding, the orb is to wide to bring some tangible benefit. POF is quincunx to Uranus (orb 0.5 degree) and Jupiter, L1 (orb 1.5 degrees). Quincunx is believed to be a tricky aspect for favourites.

POS conjunct Mars antisca may also import also advantage for the underdog.

The Moon is VOC disposed in IV, in Pisces, detriment and fall of Mercury, L7 (and also the significator of Brazil, as it is believed to be a Virgo country), unless we count quincunx with Venus which is the only aspect the Moon perfects within the orb of 5 degrees.
I doubt whether the favourite can benefit from the VOC Moon in IV. The Moon being in a waterly sign may promise something to the waterly country.

All considered the chart does not look good for the favourite. I think that Holland should at least not lose in the base time.

All angles mutable, rulers (Jupiter and Mercury) cardinal, the Moon mutable looks like that there might be an extra time for the mutable indicators prevail.

I will bet for Holland; I see little that Brazil may advance (except VOC Moon which may suggest that the expected result would occur).

Ghana - Uruguay
June 2, Johannesburg
Kick - off - 20:30
ASC 21:05:24 Aquarius
Hour of Venus

The chart is not radical, as Venus, the lady of hour, does not agree in humour with ASC.
Uruguay is the favourite and by colour method it playig in blue and black gets ASC and its ruler Saturn. Saturn is placed better as his counterpart the Sun. Saturn being above the horizon but the Sun below seems to be a good start for Uruguay. Besides, the Sun is heading towards South Node, however, is not in a partile conjunction yet (the orb is more than a degree). Sun being close to South Node is a big minus for Ghana.

According to my calculations, Acc for Saturn 3 (free from combustion he gets 5, direct 4, in VIII -2, slow in motion -2, occidental -2), Sun 1 (in V 3, slow in motion -2); essential dignities Saturn -5 (peregrine), Sun 4 (reception by exaltation).

Using alternative methods, if Ghana play in white it gets the Moon as the significator, if in red in which they played against US, it gets Mars as the significator. Saturn being closer to MC is still in a better position than Mars or Moon. Advantage for Uruguay.

What the chart does suggest in favour of Ghana. Venus, the lady of hour and IV, the success house of DSC team, on the cusp of DSC seems to be an advantage for DSC team.

The Moon is in Pisces, ruled by exalted Venus, the ruler of Taurus which is believed to rule Ghana. The Moon is VOC, unless we count quincunx to Venus, the lady of hour and IV, sitting on DSC which is the only aspect the Moon will perfect within the orb of 5 degrees. The Moon's trine to APOF has already been gone, so it is of little help for the favourite.

Uruguay is believed to be a Virgo country. The Moon VOC in Pisces, detriment and fall of Mercury, does not look like very promising for Uruguay.

Remember that Ghana won US when Venus also was on DSC.
All considered to me seems that Ghana may advance, most probably in over time or even penalties (Neptun conjunct Chiron and Black Moon in I).
We have fixed angles, mutable Moon and Saturn, and cardinal Sun.
I personally favour Uruguay but will bet for Ghana.

Kindly share your views on my analysis.

Argentina - Germany
July 3, Cape Town
Kick off - 16:00
ASC 17:26:16 Sagittarius
Ruler of hour Mars just about to swithc to Sun's at 16:08

The chart is radical; Mars agrees with Sagittarius ASC, so does the Sun.
By colour method Germany seems to get ASC if it plays in black (Jupiter in Aries), if in white and black, the same picture (Moon conjunct Jupiter in Aries). If we use alternative methods Germany if playing in black gets Saturn or Mars. I prefer Mars in that case, as he is the ruler of Aries, the natural sign of Germany.

Acc dignities for Jup 14, Mercury 1, ess dignities Jup 6, Mercury 2.

POF in X favours ASC team. Mars and Saturn natural significators of bodily fitness and endurance in X seem also to favour ASC team.
The only bog for ASC team is the Sun's, L10, conjunction with South Node, but his reception with Jupiter, L1, by exaltation seems to compensate the defect.

The Moon's entering into Aries favours who play in colours of Mars (red and black). The Moon has a lot of applying aspects within the orb of 5 degrees. First, she conjuncts Uranus, then antisca of Saturn and finally conjunct Jupiter, L1. It is worth observing that before conjunction with Jupiter she squares Part of Accidents (ASC+Saturn-Mars).

What do we have for DSC team? Neptun's conjunction with Chiron and Black Moon on the cust of IV seems to be a menacing omen. Neptun is conjunct Part of Penalty (ASC + Saturn - Mercury). Let's see if there be one.

It is also interesting to observe how the beneficial triple reception repeats in this chart. In England - Germany we had a triple reception of Moon (in Capricorn), Mercury (Cancer) and Saturn (Virgo) by house in this chart we have triple reception of Moon (in Aries), Mercury (Cancer) and Mars (Virgo).
All considered it seems that Germany will win. Have you read something about an octaple of English origin in Germany which is said to be perfectly foretelling the results better than any astrologer can. He is said to have taken food from the box with German flag, which is the sign that Germany would win.

Spain - Paraguay
June 3, Johannesburg
Kick off - 20:30
ASC 22:00:26 Aquarius
Hour Saturn

The chart is radical. Spain as the favourite and by colour method gets ASC.
Acc dignities for Saturn 3, Sun -1, essential dignities Saturn -5, Sun 4.

Saturn is above horizon in a by far better possition than the Sun which is below and conjunct South Node.

Venus, the lady of IC, on the cusp of DSC is good for DSC team but I doubt whether Paraguay manages to benefit from her position for her dispositor Sun is conjunct South Node.

By ascribing planets agreeably to the colours of the teams' kits, we get the following picture. Spain playing in red and blue gets Jupiter but Paraguay playing in white - Moon.
The Moon is less than half a degree from conjunction with Jupiter in dignities (reception by exaltation, triplicity and term). Jupiter's sextile to POF also seems beneficial for Spain.
All considered, I expect a comfortable victory for Spain.

Please excuse me if I am inconsistent with my analysis. I am infatuated with astrology. I have been studying astrology for a little bit more than 6 months and practicing sports astrology from March.
Kindly share your opinions on my analysis. :???:

Moon trine Sun usually indicates a victory for the favourites.

In Netherlands-Brazil match Moon trine Sun though very far( more than 8 degree). Moon is in the 4th house. So I think it will help Brazil.

The aspect is gone. How can it help? If it were applying, I would say Brazil can benefit from it, as the Moon would receive the Sun in Jupiter's dignities with whom the Sun has reception by exaltation. :???:

Thanks to Janis for providing such detailed analysis of the quarter finals. :'

It is important to examine these charts in the way you do. Personally, I just have to admit I have a midfield feeling and cannot connect. This could be because I am biased and my dice are already cast. Maybe the big picture is already there, as the teams have already made their approach through different enterances? In one way the tournament gets a new start as the round of 16 and knock out stage starts - from that point the route that leads to the final is set, in a manner of speaking. :???:

In either case, this is very interesting.

I recall being impressed how the Moon applied by benefic aspect to Mercury in Brazil's two first matches. Then I went on vacation and have lost track since. The single matches are like stepping stones. I have a feeling that clues to who succeeds may be found in various positions. At this point a match represents the variations within a day, while the trend may be discovered in the larger picture.

I made my commitments early into the World Cup discussion. I am not ready to get thrown off the bike just because of a middle curb. 8)

Yes, excellent work, Janis :' Interesting that you've gone for Germany to beat Argentina. Before the tournament started I checked out quite a few of the match charts, looking for one where the Moon picked up the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction, indicating a possible upset. This is The One! I need to study the chart in more detail but my initial view is that the underdogs (Germany) will overturn the favourites (Argentina).
