I understand what you meant about the complexity of calculating charts, if computers were not around I'd probably be still reading about sun signs in the Daily News Paper. I don't possess the mathematical know how to keep up with such complicated dealings.
I just meant that once you know the methods of interpretation, it's very easy to understand. When I first started to learn about Astrology it seemed so complicated, and some were very condescending about certain methods ect, but once I learned about the methods Fagan helped to revive it became very, very easy. I am not saying it's the right way, it's just the most comfortable and accurate way for myself.
I hope you start off the discussion on PSSR and Quotidians soon, I have 2 different charts (aside from the charts I sent you) that can be used here on the forum as great examples.

Hi Maria,

Please feel free to post any material related to this thread on Solar Returns or Quotidians. You may want to share your Solar Return that you PM me when Secondary Progressed Solar Moon put on a partile opposition to your Solar Venus and you received a first proposal of marriage which was the happiest day of your life. If memory serves me correctly, I calculated all of your Solar Returns up to this point in your life and it was the FIRST Solar Return that featured a partile Secondary progressed Solar Moon to a Solar Venus.

Thanks Steve,
I will post a few charts in fact, I am sure Steve can help with more technical information such as the three different rates of progression , but here's what I can offer from my experience, It's almost the same as the SSR/Precessed SR, but it's just progressed, and smaller orbs for the angles. About 1-2 degrees for an angular hit (main angles) 1 degree or less(partile for auxilary angles) Zenith, Nadir, EQ, ED, VTX, and Ax!
The effects of the secondary progressed moon aspecting a planet don't have to be angular to get results.
The Natal Rules and planets still apply too, but with the smaller orb, I believe
I use the Q2 method, I believe Steve uses Q1

All of these examples have to do with probably the only serious romantic relationship I've ever experienced in my entire life.

My natal Chart, 9/4/1984, 11:44 pm CDT +5 with the coordinates that appear on the progressed charts, yes I still at my place of birth.
When my ex had asked me to marry him, we had been having severe problems up until this point
The progressed moon had just reached a partile opposition to progressed Venus
Mo/Ve symbolism feelings of love, relating to others, relationship..ect
Sun/Uranus just reached the meridian it was a paran aspect as well
Sun/Ura sudden turn in life
Transiting Mars was 4 minutes away from the DSC, squared by the transiting moon, Excitement, Impulsiveness, expression of tense emotion

Second Quotidian Chart for same event is based on the Q2 of the Demi-Solar Return
chart that is produced when the sun reaches the opposite of the natal position

This one has adds to the same basic symbolism, it is just repeating the Moon/Jupiter square from the main SSR(not featured in this post)
Anyway, progressed Jupiter is on the MC squared by the moon just out of orbs of the ed/West point
Obviously, this symbolism means joy, jovial events, an outpooring/overflowing of emotion, generally a great aspect for anything, especially achieving goals in life. Both the Sun and Ura are on the Asc, but this time in a conjunction configuration. No transiting planets were on the angles, so I did not include an outer wheel.
As well, you can't see it in this chart (in the zodiac), but if measured in mundo Jupiter and the sun are in mundane square

2007-2008 SSR

We come to our last event, on 8/13/2008 6:00 pm. By this time, my fiance and I had broken up, and stopped speaking to eachother, in the back of my mind, I had hoped he would come back a changed man, but he did not. On this day I found out he was dating this woman, who in my opinion was not half attractive as me as a person or in the physical sense either. I know it sounds arrogant, but I think he could do a lot better.

This as well is a q2 chart with transits provided
Image

The Main feature of this chart is transiting Neptune on the Asc. Neptune = Disillusionment, sensitivity, and a lot of those bad qualities Neptune has to offer. Transiting Moon is conjunct progressed Mars, Transiting Mars comes to opposition with Uranus signifying sudden explosive anger. Saturn is just two minutes away from the ED/West Point. In this chart saturn is sensitized unleashing the basic qualities of Saturn- inhibition, frustration, depression Dissapointments...

Finally the very last chart is the PSSR chart, calculated by an Excel File that was posted on solunars.org for the same time and date of the Event.
Image
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4142/476 ... 2904_z.jpg

The same transiting to progressed aspects are involved, only this time my natal Uranus/Mars Conjunction is on the DSC partile, and transiting Neptune moved to the MC!
My Ura/Mar cnj is just highlighting my reaction to this event, yes I was very angry, surprised, and I did want to do somethings that I can never describe to anothere human soul.
Nep/Mc is more of the same from the last chart only on a larger scale, stripping the ego.

This is so true with the secondary progressed motion of solar moon. Fagan stressed the importance of maturing partile conjunctions and oppositions with secondary progressed solar moon involving solar planets and natal planets. Close approaching solar moon conjunction and opposition aspects will not always be featured in a solar return but when they are featured they symbolize ?outstanding incidents?. I have included BiBi?s 2006-2007 Solar Return in this post.

Note the position of BiBi?s 2006 Solar Moon. We can see that by secondary progressed motion (solar moon will progress app. 13 degrees in one year) her secondary progressed Solar Moon will form partile conjunct aspect to her Solar Neptune and partile opposition aspect to Solar Saturn. These 2006 Solar Moon aspects created a very turbulent inhibited (Saturn), nebulous (Neptune) Solar Year for BiBi pertaining to her relationship with her boyfriend. The relationship could not come together?BUT when secondary progressed Solar Moon matured to a partile opposition to her Solar Venus on Aug. 13 2007, BiBi?s boyfriend proposed marriage to her. Depending on age and other aspects in a Solar Return, Moon-Venus aspects are notorious for Cupid effects.

Another very important aspect featured in BiBi?s 2006 Solar Return is the partile conjunction of Pluto to her Solar Ascendant. As I have stressed in this thread, when planetary partile placement occurs with the angles of a Solar Return, in most cases it promises a year with an outstanding incident. BiBi?s Solar Pluto receives a partile 90 from her Solar North Node. In Ebertin?s system of Nativity astrology, the North Node symbolizes one?s ?connections? with people. Her 2006-2007 Solar Year, BiBi?s main connection with a person was her boyfriend. Donald Bradley who was a colleague of Fagan?s and did a ton of research with Solar Returns says:
?Pluto?s effects are swift, sensation-creating, and record breaking. It denotes ?firsts? in Life?!
My experiences in analyzing Solar Returns have proven to me Bradley is correct. When Pluto is prominent is a Solar Return it has very high probability of producing a ?First in Life?, relative to one?s environment. As we can see this is exactly what happen in Bibi?s Life with her 2006-2007 Solar Return-she received a ?First? marriage of proposal.

Quotidians

77
Before I offer some guidelines on Quotidian Charts, I want to spat out some of my pondering thoughts about Quotidian Charts and some thoughts pertaining to my personal experiences with myself and friends/clients with Quotidian Charts. First, don?t expect me to be able to answer any questions pertaining to the math/astronomy that computes Quotidian Charts. All I know is how to mouse clicks the steps in computing Solar Quotidians & Natal Quotidians with Solar Fire. Fagan used 3 types of Quotidian Charts, the Solar Quotidian (SQ), Natal Quotidian (NQ), and the Progressed Sidereal Solar Return (PSSR). I have no experience with the PSSR. When I discovered Quotidians I was and still am living a very quite, secluded, simple, retired life. However, I had some close client friends who were living serious hectic business lives along with domestic situations which at times became volatile. I have done a-lot of Quotidian work with these friends and can state Quotidian Charts damn sure work by offering valid planetary symbolism pertaining to ?out of the ordinary incidents? and at times ?outstanding incidents?. Quotidian Charts are daily Charts with new degree angles everyday. I told my friends to let me know when they had important business meetings and with their consent I would delineate their Quotidian Charts for these business meetings. The delineated results of these business meetings Day Charts were outstanding?I as well as my friends was quite amazed with the accuracy of these Quotidian Charts. My friends told me they were a great help in helping them react to certain dealings that would occur within the meeting itself. I also told my friends to let me know when an ?out of ordinary incident? happen in their life where I could monitor Quotidian planetary symbolism for these eventful days. This is a good way to investigate, learn, and weigh Quotidian Charts. Again, I was amazed with the accurate planetary symbolism, at times, that offered by Quotidian Charts. Quotidian are very sensitive to their daily angles so understand most Quotidian Days in a 365 Days Year will feature absolutely no dynamic angular symbolism which explains why most days in our lives are ho-hum everyday living. But on those days that incidents occur with us that are not ho-hum every day living, in most cases, a Quotidian Chart will explain to the astrologer with planetary symbolism WHY one experienced something outside everyday normal living. Quotidian Charts at times are simply mind boggling when you realize Fagan innovated the correct astronomy/math that calculates Quotidian Charts from our Natal and Solar Returns, which at times will produce appropriate symbolism associated with very meaningful incidents/events in our lives. Always remember these incidents/events are RELATIVE to one?s individual life circumstances, priorities, living environment, and psychological make-up. What may be considered/defined an incident/event to one may not be to another.

It is my opinion Quotidian analysis is an excellent tool for electing (when the choice presents itself) certain times for certain activity pertaining to Nativity astrology. In the ho-hum living of ever day life we all experience our good days and our bad days. A close scrutiny of Quotidian analysis can astrologically explain a good DAY or a bad DAY?on rare occasions a remarkable good DAY or a very bad DAY. ). I always like to check my Quotidians when I am planning to leave my nest of ordinary day living?vacations, appointments schedule with me by another person, social outings,--anything outside my everyday normal living. I basically use the same rules and guidelines I have covered in this Solar Return thread with Quotidian Charts, but Matthew?s Quotidian guidelines, which will be presented in my next post will reflect some new guidelines for your considerations. Quotidians are fun to work with but you must understand Quotidians involve endeavoring to analysis which Days out of 365 Days will reflect meaningful planetary symbolism. This presents a greater task than analyzing just one day when a Solar Return occurs which offers us a tremendous prophetic tool that covers an entire Solar Year. But at times, a Quotidian Chart will pinpoint one day out of a Solar Year when the symbolism of a Solar Return will manifest in a peak. This alone allows the potential importance for analyzing Quotidian Charts. On a scale of 1-10, I feel my individual potential for thoroughly analyzing meaningful Quotidian Days for an entire year is only a 3. In most cases we are not foretold of meaningful Quotidian Days, we can only view an incident/event in hindsight and only then see the dynamic planetary symbolism.

Matthew's Quotidian Teachings

78
The following statements are from Matthew Quellas pertaining to Quotidian Charts. When you see an (*) my thoughts are offered. You will see some redundancy because I am piecing this Quotidian post with dozens of e-mails from Matthew answering my many questions about Quotidians.

?Playing with Quotidians is time consuming. It is not easy. To work with Quotidians you have to print out A-lot of lists with Software.?

*Then when you are through printing the lists you have to be able to isolate certain groupings to pin-point the days of important symbolism. The eye sees and understands more looking at charts than lists. The problem?you can?t print or scan 730 Charts with the SQ & NQ checking for dynamic configurations?your mind would turn to Jelly. Add another 365 Charts if you include the PSSR.

?Parans maturing on the Quotidian Angles produce events-they are very important.?

*So true! I have offered progressed solar Moon Quotidian (SQ) examples in this thread for George W. Bush. On 9/11/2001 Bush?s SQ featured a progressed Solar Moon (IC), Natal Saturn (MC) Paran Quotidian. This Solar Quotidian Paran was the first Solar Moon-Natal Saturn Quotidian Paran in his life. On 1/20/2005 Inauguration Day, Bush?s Solar Quotidian featured a progressed Solar Moon (IC)-Solar Jupiter (MC) Paran. This also was the first IC/MC Moon-Jupiter Paran SQ in his life.

?The progressed Moon with Quotidians is highly reflective of whatever planet it is aspecting.?

*especially partile aspects.

?Parans on Quotidian angles involving transiting planets with Natal or Progressed planets are Event Indicating. When you are working with Quotidians, watch particularly for Parans?planets crossing the angles together.

?Fagan emphasized that return, quotidian, and ingress charts should be judged in mundo more strongly than merely in eclipto. Too many astrologers ignore this, even ostensibly astrologers who practice Fagan?s methodologies.?

* You have to scan lots of lists to isolate transiting parans. Another huge problem is programs only include ecliptic hits with angular transiting planets?not mundo hits. I know no program that will distinguish mundo hits and ecliptic hits in the same list. In most cases Paran Quotidians involving the IC/MC axis will be the same as angular ecliptic hits?not so with the Asc/Des axis.

?The angles of a chart represent ?conscious awareness? of whatever planet contacts the angles. Quotidian angles are a day or two of awareness of whatever planet contacts the angles. One planet on a Q angle may or may not be meaningful. Transiting factors to a planet on a Q angle is more meaningful than just a planet by itself on the Q angle. Again Parans involving Q angles are event producing.?

?Quotidians bring Solar Return, Natal, and transiting factors to the forefront of our consciousness as they become angular?but each angular crossing is strongly colored by different interaspects by progressions, transits, and parans. What needs to be determine is the exact day of angular crossings of natal planets, solar return planets and progressed planets?then see if these angular crossings is being hard aspected by transit within a day or two of exact angularity.

* A hell of a-lot to consider/analyze when tracking Quotidians! Now you understand better why I have been saying we need a specialized computer program involving Quotidians. Yet it is these Quotidian Charts that times to the day much of our important life experiences.

?Technically speaking, natal parans should be corrected for precession to the current epoch for Quotidians.?

* This can be demonstrated by comparing Bush?s 9/11 Solar Moon-Natal Saturn Paran Quotidian Hit in the tropical zodiac which does not account for precession verses the sidereal zodiac which does account for precession. If I can remember, I will try to show the differences with a later post.

?Transiting Planets are the hardest to work with involving contact with the Q angles.?

Enough for now?I will continue with Matthew?s Quotidian teachings later.

Quotidians guidelines continued by Matthew Quellas:

?I wouldn?t say that a natal, progressed, or transit planet on a quotidian by itself, unaspected/unaspecting would be all that indicative, but when the Q angles accent a configuration of prog to natal or transit to natal/prog, then the event is clearly marked. A loner on an angle will indicate a ?mood for the day.?

* very important to understand the above statement.

?Sadly, the Dynamic runs (lists that identify quotidian hits) with Solarfire are only in eclipto, mundo hits are just as valid as eclipto hits. I think that both mundo and ecliptic positions need equal consideration, and sometimes even midpoints in time, i.e., when one planet may have already crossed an angle (risen, set, whatever) and another one is approaching. I have seen event charts with quotidian contacts clearly blending both planets characteristics. I?ve been trying with the few programmers I have known over the YEARS to get someone to include in mundo quotidian hits. But it seems there are too few astrologers around to use them, or who even know what the hell they are. It took a major Act of Goddess to get Solar Fire to give the option of using listings in Sidereal Time for Parans. Ditto on correction/bugs in sidereal routines on most software. I would want a Dynamic run (list) where hits to progressed quotidian angles (conjunctions and oppositions) are calculated in mundo for natals, progressed, and transiting planets. SF already can do in eclipto hits, but the in mundo quotidian hits would have to be a second run (list) that could be merged with the in eclipto hits and somehow be noted as in mundo.?

* Fagan was an adept astronomer, a rarity among an astrologer, and realized with his astrological research that astrologers were missing a-lot of symbolic action by not seeing the precise timing of in-mundo hits. Matthew is an adept technician when it comes to Fagan?s methodologies and is echoing Fagan?s recognition of the importance of in mundo hits involving the angles. No astrological program will handle in-mundo hits involving all quotidian angles The only adept astronomer I know today who is an astrologer addressing some of Fagan?s methodologies is Juan Antonio Revilla, the producer of the most excellent freeware program?Riyal.

?I like to see one of the ?four Moons? active in some way for major events.?

* the four Moons are Natal Moon, Secondary Progressed Natal Moon, Solar Return Moon, and Secondary Progressed Solar Moon. Without a doubt, much more action is seen with Solar Moon and Secondary Progressed Solar Moon. The simple reason for this is every year with our PRECESSED (***must allow for precession with the Solar Return to get the accurate zodiac position and in-mundo placement of Solar Moon) Solar Returns we get a new zodiac position with our Solar Moons. Whereas, our Natal Moons are static with only one zodiac position. *** Always remember to relocate the Solar Return to one?s residence if removed from birth place. Different latitudes alter the in-mundo placement of the Solar Moon.

* I asked Matthew the following question in 2004:

?Fagan used 2 methods for progressing (quotidian charts) a Solar Return? The Solar Quotidian and the PSSR. Which one gives you the best results?

Matthew?s answer:

?I worked with both methods years ago, but was not happy with the PSSR results. For the past 13 years or so, I?ve used the SQ1 (Solar Quotidian) with excellent results.?

* all quotidian examples I have offered in this thread are the SQ1 method.

Another question I asked: ?Do you consider the SQ1 (Solar Quotidian) angles more important than the NQ1 (Natal Quotidian)?

Matthew?s answer?

?I don?t think either NQ1 or SQ1 is more important than the other; to me, it?s more like a qualitative difference. SQ1?based events seem to be (maybe) more external, more happening-to than the NQ1.?

* I have found Matthew?s above statement to be very true. There is definitely more action with the SQ1, again simply because our Solar Returns change every year; whereas, our Natal?s consist of a one moment birth (born) chart. Our Solar Returns are our ?born again? charts offering more and different symbolic situations than the static Natal. Don?t misunderstand?the Natal and it?s NQ1?S are important with events but the Solar Return and it?s SQ1?S just offer more action with events.

More later.

More Quotidian guidelines by Matthew Quellas?

?One of the 4 Moons need not be angular to produce an event. Contacts of either the NQ or SQ Moon to natal or progressed planets, then triggered by a faster transit are likely to produce something, or be a part of something significant. Or a slow transit to one of the 2 progressed Moons?watch the outer planets ?dogging? the progressed Moons; sometimes, say, Saturn will be moving forward within orb of an aspect to NQ or SQ progressed Moon; because their speeds are close to the same speed, transiting Saturn then be within orb for MONTHS at a time ( same for Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto). Those are the times to pay particular attention to faster transits triggers or quotidian angle hits. Quotidian aren?t necessary the be-all and end-all with events. On the other hand, generally a major event will show appropriate planetary symbolism on quotidian angles. Conversely, not every quotidian hit will be major. Pay attention to days both the NQ and SQ Quotidians show activity on the same days. Natal planets involved with quotidians involve personal psychological motivations, ?acts of self.? Transits involve outside environment influences or people.? Watch closely partile aspects involved with the Solar Return and Quotidian Charts showing angular activity. Most transits in mundo will be close to the transit in eclipto. With the quotidians, a day is highlighted with its own set of angles. When natal, progressed, or transit planets contact those daily angles simultaneously, there is greater probability of an event.?

The Solar Return Moon and its aspects to Solar & Natal Planets are very important. Equally so, sometimes even more important, is the aspects (maturing partile aspects) of progressed Solar Moon involving Quotidian Charts, particularly the Q angles to Solar Planets & Natal Planets.?

* if you learn only one thing from these Solar Return/Quotidian teachings make Matthew?s above statement an axiom when analyzing Solar Returns with their Quotidian Charts. At times our Solar Moon and progressed Solar Moons with her aspects to Solar & Natal planets will dominate the entire Solar Year with amazing symbolic activity with the simple intrinsic natures of the planets.

?The position of the Solar Return Moon can be a strong indicator, if only for the year, of inter-personal contacts involving important relationships. I have seen instances of interchanges between Solar Return planets and natals in another?s chart be the primary contacts for an important relationship; frequently, though, when the Solar Return changes for the next year, the ?glue? disappears, the relationship falters. Often hard aspects between person A?s natal Sun and B?s Solar Return Moon will be a strong but ephemeral tie.?

?Transits to both Solar Return Moon and SQ Moon (secondary progressed Solar Moon) should be watched closely.?

* learn how with SF or your Software program, other than SF, to run out dynamic aspects with and to Solar Moon/SQ1 Moon for a given Solar year. I will try to give some SF examples later.

?NQ1 Moon is highly sensitive to transits sometimes even more so than Natal Moon. Transits are the outside/external conditions getting in our faces.?

I asked the following question to Matthew: If you had to write an addendum to Jim?s Eshelman?s, ?Interpreting Solar Returns??What would it be about?

His answer: ?Probably would want to expand the use of Solar Quotidians. Expand examples of the use of quotidians in general.?

* I personally find seeking out important quotidians to be a most challenging, at times, maddening effort; yet I have never seen any other technique besides Fagan?s quotidians that, at times, will calculate a major event to an exact day.

?When I look at a Solar Return, I note the angular planets first, but find myself immediately looking to the Solar Moon. Any partile aspect in a Solar Return, weather angular or not, will be felt during the Solar Year.?

?Since I?ve worked with quotidians so long, I?ve been keenly aware that it?s not only the contacts by conjunctions/opposition to the angles, but the squares and semi/sesqui-squares as well. Believe, it was a shock when I realized many years ago the 8th harmonic hits to Q angles were fully functional.?

* the above statement is indeed true.

? Solar Moon progressions by themselves, even if not hitting Q angles, can produce events.?

* so true when monitoring the maturing partile aspects of progressed Solar Moon.

In conclusion I will offer a question I posed to Matthew:

What are your fees for doing a yearly analysis with one?s quotidians isolating quotidian important days?

His answer:

?Nobody could pay me enough to do what I consider a full analysis that way. It would take literally hours of combined computer and pen-paper time. When I was doing my own monthly quotidians, it took about an hour to calculate the hits (natal, progressed, Solar Return, and transit) for one month. And that was with all the preliminary work done, using a computer, two scientific calculators, and some major crib sheets to remind me how to calculate risings, settings, culminating, anti-culminating (parans-in-mundo hits).?

* without a specialized software program (there are none) it is difficult to isolate the important quotidian days, yet at times, quotidians offer the only astrological technique that symbolically explain major events. Later I will offer some quotidian examples.

Solar Fire Steps for Computing Quotidian Charts

81
Here are the Solar Fire (SF) steps for computing Solar Quotidians and Natal Quotidians:

1: On the main SF screen, click ?Preferences? on the top tool bar. 2: Click ?Edit Settings?. 3: Then click ?Prog/Dirns? tab. 4: Then within the Chart Angle Progression Type select Mean Quotidian. 5: Then under ?Progression Day Type? click Bija (Q1). 6: Then go back to the top of the ?Preferences? page and click on ?Misc? tab and select under Parans: Rise/Set/Upper/Lower select Display as LST (local sidereal time) Times. 7: Then click the ?OK? tab at the bottom of the ?Preference? page. This completes the steps for setting Solar Fire to calculate Fagan?s Quotidian Charts and doing Quotidian ?HIT? runs (lists) with the ?Dynamic? tab at the top of SF main page. More about Dynamic ?Hit? runs later.

*Note: you can optionally select Progression Type from the main SF screen under the Current Settings Menu Board when calculating a quotidian chart.

As a test, let us calculate George W. Bush Natal Chart and compute his 2004 precessed Solar Return relocated to Washington DC, and then compute his Jan 20th 2005 Solar Quotidian Day which was Inauguration Day for his second term, a strong psychological vindication for Bush with the highly disputed election for his first term. Birth Data AA RATED: July 6th, 1946. 7:26 AM EDT. New Haven, Connecticut, 41N18, 072W56.

If you have properly computed Bush?s 2004 Solar Return according to Fagan?s astrological methodologies you will get an MC=28AQU32. Ascendant=21GEM38. If you do not get these angular axis degrees you have not properly mouse clicked the necessary steps. Remember you must click the relocated tab and select Wash DC for Bush?s place of residence. And you must click the ?Precessed? tab under ?Special Options? on the Returns page in order to get an accurately timed Solar Return. Once you get the correct timed Solar Return you can now compute an accurate SQ (Solar Quotidian) Day for Jan 20th, 2005 Inauguration Day.
Here are SF Quotidian steps for computing Bush?s Jan 20th, 2005 Solar Quotidian:

Highlight Bush?s 2004 Solar Return in the ?Calculated Charts? section on SF main page. Once you have Bush?s 2004 Solar Return highlighted move your mouse cursor to the top left of the page and click ?Chart?. Then click Progressed or key stroke F4. Then fill in the necessary information for ?Progress Base Chart To?: Put in the Date: Jan 20th 2005. Put in the time of 12:05 PM since this will be app. the time he will or have taken the ?OATH? of office. Next make sure the ?Place? Box shows Washington DC?it should since we have already relocated Bush?s 2004 Solar Return to Washington DC. Under the located box, the tab next to Natal should already be marked?the computer is recognizing that Bush is residing in Wash DC. Don?t be concerned if SF shows a EDT verses EST?this is a Quotidian Day Chart showing the DEGREE of the daily angles. The house cusps will change app. 1 degree per day with a SQ Chart. If you have computed the correct Solar Return Quotidian Chart you should see a MC of 14VIR59 with progressed Solar Jupiter at 14VIR14 partile conjunct SQ MC. Secondary Progressed Solar Moon is 15PI34 partile opposed progressed Solar MC and tight opposed Progressed Solar Jupiter. Bush?s Jan 20th 2005 Solar Quotidian is included in this post for a visual which always speaks better words to an astrologer than a written discourse. Fagan would have labeled this Solar Quotidian a Moon-Jupiter PARAN Quotidian?a rare occurrence with Quotidians. Paran Quotidians symbolize a very high probability for major EVENTS!

If you can reproduce Bush?s above Solar Quotidian (SQ) with other software besides SF, then you now know how to compute quotidian charts for your own individual daily angles. Some software may not have a heading or labeling of the word Quotidian?because the process is actually a method of progression. Every software program is different with headings & labeling.

When computing a Natal Quotidian (NQ) highlight the Natal Chart under Calculated Charts and repeat the above steps.

An Excellent Solar Quotidian Example

83
Image
The above quotidian chart is a striking example of a Solar Quotidian (SQ) calculating a major event in one?s life to the exact day of the event, with very appropriate planetary symbolism, and using Matthew?s quotidian guidelines. The nature of the event was foretold in the current Solar Return for the year of the event. The event was a Woman who won $25,000 in a horse race located in San Francisco, CA. using a one dollar (cost) drawn raffle ticket from thousands of entries. No astrologer could have predicted the native would win a large sum of money in a horse race; but, an astrologer versed with Fagan?s Solar Return methodologies could have easily predicted the NATURE of an ?outstanding incident? with simple planetary symbolism. However, I have my doubts any astrologer even with computer technology verse with Fagan?s techniques could have foreseen the exact day of the event?it probably would have taken hindsight to see this beautiful Solar Quotidian that pinpointed the exact day of the event. Nine drawn raffle tickets matched to separate numbers between 1-9 were drawn by a blindfolded person, and the person who had the winning horse number won 25K. Someone will have an extraordinary LUCKY DAY and the astrologer knows to look for Jupiter aspects for the appropriate planetary symbolism associated with luck.

The birth data (from birth records) was confirmed by an astrologer who contacted the woman who won the 25K. The astrologer wrote an article in American Astrology Magazine using conventional Natal analysis which was actually lacking in any striking planetary symbolism. However Fagan?s techniques for Solar Returns and Solar Quotidians performed admirably for the astrologer in witnessing solid astrological symbolism for the year and DAY of the horse race EVENT.

Residence for the current 1956 Precessed Solar Return?San Francisco, Ca. 1956 Precessed Solar Return relocated to San Francisco calculates an Ascendant of: 27SC22.

First compute the lady?s 1956 Precessed Solar Return located to San Francisco, Ca. Using Jim Eshelman?s from his book ?Interpreting Solar Returns?, we are instructed to always let our eyes note in planetary activity associated with the angles of a Solar Return. We immediately see a partile conjunction (close to exact) of Saturn with the Asc. receiving a tight 90 from Solar Pluto. This definitely is not appropriate symbolism for a lucky horse race win of 25K. We have to assume some type of ?outstanding incident? occurred with this potent Saturn symbolism during her 1956 Solar Year. The astrologer must see the Zeus effect with Jupiter to explain an extraordinary lucky win of 25K. Solar Jupiter is placed in the 10th House tightly conjunct the MC and conjunct Sun indicating an illuminating (Sun) Jupiter in her environment sometime during her Solar Year. What kind of Jupiter Event? This is difficult for the astrologer in determining the type of Jupiter Event. The astrologer has no choice but to rely on their own experiences with working with symbolic meanings of the planets and their combinations of aspects. What aspects, particularly PARTILE aspects does Solar Jupiter receive from the other Solar planets? We see that Solar Jupiter is receiving a tight 45 (semi-square) from Solar Venus and a PARTILE 45 FROM SOLAR NEPTUNE. Remember Matthew?s teachings that the 45 & 135 aspects are very important and not to be ignored with Return & Quotidian Charts. Jim teaches us from his book ?Interpreting Solar Returns?, when we see tight angular placements of planets and they receive PARTILE aspects from other planets there is high probability of the occurrence of an ?outstanding incident? according to the NATURE of the involved partile aspect. Reinhold Ebertin in his most excellent researched book, ?The Combination of Stellar Influences?, states on page 174 pertaining to Jupiter-Neptune influence and their ?Probable Manifestations?:
?the tendency to speculate, gain without effort?.
Matthew also teaches us with his guidelines that he wants to see ONE OF THE FOUR MOONS HIGHLIGHTED (aspected) with Solar & Quotidian analysis in order to produce an EVENT. The four Moons are Natal Moon, Secondary Progressed Natal Moon, Solar Moon, and last but certainly not least-- Secondary Progressed Solar Moon. Note Solar Jupiter receives a tight 180 from a partile angular (Solar IC) Natal Moon. Also Solar Jupiter is exact by 1 minute of arc 90 the Eq (East Point). In Eshelman?s book, he teaches the East Point is a very important point in Solar Returns and any planet 0, 90, 180 the East Point is ?highly accentuated?. We have a powerfully placed and aspected Jupiter with this Solar Return.

Now I want to illustrate how the Solar Quotidian for Dec. 15th, calculated the exact DAY of the 25K winning Day with dynamic Jupiter symbolism. Look at the included Solar Quotidian in this post and first note Solar Jupiter partile the 7th angle. Just as important, note how secondary progressed Solar Moon was now partile conjunct Neptune. Also, secondary progressed Solar Moon was partile 90 Solar Venus (after the winning horse came in there was a huge social event that evening). But, SP Solar Moon moving to a partile conjunction of Solar Neptune was also an important Key. SP Solar Moon partile conjunct Solar Neptune had been in effect for weeks?it takes a month for SP Solar Moon to move app. 1 degree. We have seen other examples of a partile SP Solar Moon exiting the NATURE of any planet Solar or Natal it contacts with its progressed movement; but, in this case the EVENT was triggered when the Quotidian 7th angle rotated with its progressed rate to a partile conjunction of Solar Jupiter. This is why, at times, the progressed Q angles are recognized as great triggers for EVENTS, calculated to the exact day of the EVENT. It is important to realize, any time you see a partile aspect, 0, 45, 90, 135, 180, particularly if it is angular in a Solar Return, and see that SP Solar Moon will progress to a partile aspect with one of the planets that is partile aspected, you need to pay attention to this time frame of 1 month and expect EVENTS when one of the three planets becomes partile to any Q angle. It this case, the only time during the entire Solar Year that SP Solar Moon was partile aspected to one of the two Solar Return planets of Jupiter and Neptune was when the Q 7th angle progressed to a partile conjunction of Solar Jupiter. Remember the Solar Return featured an angular Jupiter partile 45 Solar Neptune. The EVENT was a huge LUCKY EVENT so we would expect a SQ angle partile conjunct Solar Jupiter to have high probability to trigger the EVENT to the exact day of a Q angular hit.

Bottom line: The Q progressed angles, at times; excite/trigger huge events in our lives! But these Q angles need to be lit-up with planetary partile/tight aspects to produce a significant event. Quotidians are super fun to work with friends and clients. They definitely leave a lasting impression. It?s impossible for me to scan all the yearly daily quotidians for friends/clients, so what I do, is tell my friends/clients to call me whenever they plan or someone else plans ?out of ordinary? DAYS for them. In many of these cases of ?out of ordinary? scheduled days you see the Q angles lit-up with angular hits with partile/tight aspects. I then delineate the planetary symbolism for them and wait to see what happen with their lives. In many cases, for me, it is better than watching a good play or movie. Most of our lives are made-up of ORDINARY ho-hum days but it is certain quotidian days that keeps our lives very interesting. Later, I will offer an example with one of my good friends of a recent ?out of ordinary? Quotidian Day.

Hi Steve, you mentioned square to the east point and west point axis, I believe Jim does not count squares to EP/WP just straight conjuncts up to three degrees. One last thing, there's a sextile from the Q1 moon to pluto, obviously, trines and sextiles do very little for regular planets, but for luminaries, they have a greater effect, this emphasizes an extreme expression of emotion, defying of odds MO/PL symbolism, just not as dynamic because it's not a hard aspect, obviously it's very easy to express emotion if you've won 25,000 dollars it's still a lot in today's terrible inflated econemy with SA/UR/JU doing a 180/0/180
