Here in the UK we are having the first official state visit of a Pope in our history. He has tried to find common cause with other Christians and others faiths by emphasizing the common threat of secular materialism and humanism.

A pair of binoculars once received from my grandfather were able to show Jupiter's 4 largest moons. This is still quite a challange for the untrained eye. I notice the idea that predictions can be made according to orbital distance. That is interesting and I do not disagree, however, it should be considered that orbital distance does not only have effect on size and apparant magnitude, but also on daily motion. The closer a planet comes to the Sun, the swifter is its motion. As far as superior planets are concerned and their perihelion occurs while opposite the Sun, meaning that the Earth is travelling in between, the swift motion of the superior planet would slow down the 'apparant' retrograde motion and also shorten the period of retrogradation. Just for thoughts...

I think any analysis has to consider that Jupiter has been with Uranus throughout this period. The Pope's visit to the UK ocurred on the weekend that the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction became exact, with the headline of the Daily Mirror on the Saturday reading "BLOW UP THE POPE" - this was not an instruction, but the story of a murder plot being thwarted. If it had been sucessful astrologers would have taken a lot more notice; but it was in the air nonetheless.
