by elumen An update: my mom had some tests done, and it showed that her pancreas is inflamed and enlarged, also, there is some kind of cyst in her liver, and the doctors adviced her to have more extensive tests of her liver, intestines and stomach. The acute episode was attributed to infectious poisoning from some external source, and that her overtaxed body did not take it well. So far her blood and the tests did not show stones, her gall bladder is OK. But the pancreatic gland as Deb pointed out, and inflammatory nature of the sickness as Dione pointed out have been the problem. I'm quite impressed with the accuracy and specific detail shown in the chart, and grateful for everyone's input. I do not think that the conditions pose some serious threat but they are something to be taken care of. My mom is feeling better, but even the recovery from the acute episode took almost a week (normally a food poisoning would not last that long). So some chronic condition has been present, and hopefully she'll get the clear diagnosis and some helpful treatment. And it will cost some little fortune, as the L6 in her H2 in Rx indicated. 14 by Deb That's very good news - thank you for the update. I know it doesn't sound like good news, but the recognition of the underlying problem is a big relief. I didn't mention this in my earlier post because I didn't want to be alarmist but the situation I referred to had a tragic end. Pancreatitis can become a very serious illness indeed and in that case a healthy women in her late 50s became suddenly ill and lost her life in a matter of a few days, just because no one took her complaint seriously. Let's hope now that proper treatment will cure the problem so that from now on this is nothing more than an inconvenience. Good luck to you both Deb Quote Sun Apr 18, 2010 10:45 am
by elumen Thank you very much, Deb! I'm sorry to learn about your mother-in-law, I was wondering how it turned out for her. But she did not have cancer, did she? I'm hoping for the best for my mom, and the chart indicates that her life vitality is good, so hopefully the problems indicates will be overcome with some care and treatment. 16 by Deb No Cancer - she was in good health, so it was all very sudden and very shocking. I also have a pet related horary which shows similar themes to this, and where the presumed cause of death was pancreatitis (although poisoning could not be ruled out). That had the Moon on the 6th cusp applying to the square of a combust Mars in Virgo. That's a personal chart but if you want to see it, let me know by PM and I'll send it privately. But I truly believe that you horary has done its job by alerting you to take this seriously and push for that extra investigation, so now you can relax and let the medical professionals do their job. Not feeling well again 17 by elumen I'm afraid I have to continue this thread. Need your input in determining the cause of disease again. My mom had another episode of feeling nauseous and weak, with some blood in her saliva, but she did not vomit, nor was it as intense as a few month back when she had been taken to hospital. Just to remind the first chart was cast about 6 months ago. She has not been feeling very well lately having started the work year (she is a professor in college) being stressed out and overworked. The concerning factors are that the charts are so similar, and, in the new chart, Saturn in Libra again is the indicator of her illness. In the recent months, mom had all tests done, and they did not really find anything except a somewhat inflamed pancreatic gland, no stones, no problem with blood, a cyst in the liver but it does not cause any problems, might have been there all her life. So I need to determine the organ that is causing her not feeling well. It is obvious that this situation is chronic and previous charts indicated that clearly. Here is the chart of the moment mom started to feel bad: My read: Saturn, L6, is exalted but combust, I took it represent seriousness of her condition, but it seem to me the Sun lessens harmfulness of Saturn in Libra through combustion, although others may interpret differently. Fixed sign on the 6h, continues disease, Neptune is there -- poisoning of some kind likely. Moon in Virgo in the 1h - indicates intestinal area, Saturn in Libra according to Lilly -- knees and thighs, does not ring the bell here. But Libra indicates "Stone in the Reins or Kidneys, Surfeits by drinking or eating, or from too much Venery" (p. 246, CA II). Saturn signifies pain in the bones and in the bladder among other things, and diseases proceeding from cold. Again Neptune indicates moist and cold. And we take Moon in Virgo, according to Lilly's table it (p. 119, CA II) it rules arms shoulders, bowels, and Virgo, diseases in the guts, bellyaches. Mom's ruler Mercury in Libra is conjunct L6 Saturn, which indicates to me that some nervousness or "brain" was a cause of the non-well being as well. So it seems like stones, or bladder issues maybe, but the tests did not find anything, she just recently had them done. I had a feeling that her liver may not be releasing toxins properly, and according to oriental medicine it may cause symptoms like dizziness, headaches among other signs, but in this chart Jupiter is not connected to illness directly. Other interpretations are very much welcome and appreciated. I'm getting a little lost and confused between many different indications. One thing is clear though, that Saturn represent disease, and last time it was going retro into Virgo, but this time it is in Libra. Quote Thu Oct 14, 2010 6:02 am
by Paul "Saturn, L6, is exalted but combust, I took it represent seriousness of her condition, but it seem to me the Sun lessens harmfulness of Saturn in Libra through combustion" I wonder if the combust nature of Saturn indicates that the condition is 'hidden' from view. Luckily Sun is moving away from Saturn and so Saturn's combustion may soon end, I wonder if she should just get more tests done after that period of time. Sorry I can't add anything to the horary. I do think the idea of kidney stones for Saturn in Libra seems likely. If I remember what Bonatti said bout illness correctly I believe that Lord 6 receiving Lord 1 is a good sign. But 6th cusp on a fixed sign and Lord 1 still to apply to Lord 6, and therefore enter combustion, really seems quite damaging to me, and at the very least that it will likely get worse before getting better. I'm sorry I can't add anything more, I think you've covered everything I'd be able to offer, my experience of horary is still fairly limited. Reading Bonatti but haven't read CA yet. Hope everything works out well for her though. I reckon getting more tests done is probably all you can do, especially when Saturn stops being combust the Sun, which is after all Lord 12. In matters of chronic illness Bonatti also suggests using Lord 12 rather than Lord 6 btw. Thought I'd throw that out there, it might be worth considering. Quote Thu Oct 14, 2010 9:24 am
by Myro "I have been having a streak of medical horaries lately, and what is interesting that they look similar..." One of my elderly colleagues at work died yesterday morning. Two days ago, my wife mysteriously contracted a tooth infection. Four days ago, my father, who's one of the sturdiest men I know, got a bronchial infection. Quote Thu Oct 14, 2010 2:02 pm
by Myro And I feel this has something to do with the fact that right now, the Sun is traversing the via combusta, with both the lesser and the greater fortunes retrograde. The world generally might be a slightly happier place when on November 19 both turn direct together, with the Sun out of the via combusta. :-) Quote Fri Oct 15, 2010 3:25 am
by elumen Paul, thank you for you reply. Upon reflecting on it more and more, I only can see two reasons - kidney problems (likely stones), not discovered through tests! or bladder stones, or pancreatic gland, the later can give symptoms like my mom is having (headaches and nausea). Need to identify the cause more precisely, b/c she needs to see help! Quote Fri Oct 15, 2010 5:27 am
by Goca For medical question I use J Frawley method. Yes, she indeed is not well because we have her ruler Me, cold and dry in hot and moist Li sign. So, dispositor of desease is Ve in detriment in fixed sign indicating that ilness will not pass fast. Ve in Sco is connected with:Prolapsed Uterus, or tumour of uterus, weakness of bladder, sifilis, chronic angina, hernia.
