A question 1 by Moggy I want to delineate a chart cast for the moment that I read someone's email message to me. The chart is drawn for the city in which I read the email. My question: Does the first house represent the person who sent the email? Quote Wed Oct 20, 2010 3:06 pm
by Paul Moggy The ascendant and the first house represent the querent. If the querent is the person who sent the email, then yes they get the first house. Find out more here: http://www.skyscript.co.uk/horary1a.html Quote Wed Oct 20, 2010 3:58 pm
by Tanit Does the first house represent the person who sent the email? In previous event charts posted in the forum it was based on the querent's point of view primarily and focusing on a 1st/7th house axis. Aglaya did an event chart for a woman watching a coworker have a conversation with another female, and the 1st house was the woman watching the event. It isn't horary so it doesn't really follow the same rules. What is the nature of the event chart? The subject matter is important. You say it's an email, but an email about what and from whom? I.e., a love matter, work, family, etc. It makes a difference in event charts. Quote Wed Oct 20, 2010 10:13 pm
by Moggy Thank you, Paul. Tanit...Thank you, too. The email is from a person who has been involved in unpleasant activity against myself and a few other people of my acquaintance. The sender is now making friendly overtures towards me and I wanted to read the chart to determine if the overture is honest. Quote Wed Oct 20, 2010 10:47 pm
by yuzuru If you want to know something, just do a horary. To use "event" charts is always problematic. Meu blog de astrologia (em portugues) http://yuzuru.wordpress.com My blog of astrology (in english) http://episthemologie.wordpress.com Quote Thu Oct 21, 2010 12:50 am
by Tanit Event charts seem to work better in event planning, but they can also make sense for major events that happen. I still don't think they tell a story as clearly as horary does, they just give a certain tone to the moment. The fact that it is an emal is sort of insignificant because it sounds like a 1st/7th issue to me (you're wondering if they're a foe). If you're basically wondering if his intentions are good, I would think the best thing to do would be to look at the over all tone of the chart as well as the 1st/7th connections.
