13 by Tom I think it takes theological training to make that statement into an argument for in mundo calculation! Good point. Still the insistence that it works better is interesting, particularly when examples are provided. I realize that all astrological writers provide only examples that work. Worsdale has no monopoly on that. Still why do all that work? Some guys just love the math I guess. The other possibility is that he loved in mundo directions and needed things to be this way. I'll post another chart that uses his POF and maybe we can learn something from it. Tom Quote Sun Oct 31, 2010 11:59 am
14 by dmause Hi Tom What if the planets in IC and MC are sextile/trine to the ascendant? Would Worsdale still deem them in bad aspect to the ascendant? thanks Quote Sun Nov 14, 2010 4:34 pm

I hope Tom will forgive me if I butt in. The answer is yes. Worsdale followed the lead of Placidus in asserting that zodiacal aspects were relevant only between planets, and that planets can be configured to the angles only by mundane aspects. 16 by dmause ?[/quote] ] Odd. So my Gemini rising is i bad aspect to my Jupiter,Mercury,Saturn Conjunction in Aquarius? But whilst Jupiter lies right in the MC cusp, the other two are in house 9 about 7-10 degrees off the MC. Would they still be in bad aspect to the ascendant? I think it's more important to think in terms of energy flow here than in moralistic or preferential terms . Whether Mars is trine, sextile or square the Asc. the important fact is that the Mars energy is moving toward the ascendant and the chart native will express it. In a natal chart a square might make the energy flow more tense and disruptive ? somehow at odds with the ascendant energy. With a trine the energy flow to the ascendant will be easier and more in cooperation with the Asc energy. But with either one Mars has contacted the Asc and will leave his mark. So if a planet is in 10th house you tend to focus on career in detriment of your well-being even if the planets are well aspected to the ascendant? Quote Sun Nov 14, 2010 8:44 pm

I am not sure what orbs either Worsdale or Placidus allowed; but for mundane aspects they would not have been measured in ecliptical degrees, but rather in proportions of semi-arcs. I should point out that these are not my views, but those of Worsdale. Personally, I do not use mundane aspects. Quote Sun Nov 14, 2010 10:53 pm
