I recently auditioned for BGT and asked the question, 'Will I get through to the next round?' Could someone kindly tell me which houses I should be looking to for an answer?

I'm thinking 1st and 5th or 1st and 10th?

Scorpio rises in the chart so I'm Mars - in the first house at 13 degrees 50 Sag. Mercury rules the 10th and is also in the first house at 10 deg 48 Sag. Saturn exalted is in the 11th at 13 deg 9 Libra and so interferes with the perfection of Mercury and Mars.

The fifth house has Aries on the cusp so is also Mars ruled and the 4th house 'end of the matter' contains Moon, retro Jupiter POF and Uranus all conjunct. Mars is applying by square to all of these and hits the Moon first.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Hi Mia

I would definitely be looking at the midheaven (and 10th house) for indications of public success and accomplishment. Manilius (1st century) says of the midheaven that from "hence comes applause, spendour, and every form of popular favour" (Astronomica, 2.820)

Does that sounds like music to your ears?

So what you need are some good, strong indications of success connected to your significators (1st house, 1st-ruler and Moon) and good contacts with indications of success in the 10th. Get through to the final and I promise to vote for you.

Thanks very much for your input - sounds like lovely music to my ears! Can I just ask - does Saturn preventing perfection between my significator and the tenth house significator mean that the answer to my question is a definite no or should other good aspects still be taken into account?

I promise to keep you informed of what happens! We were told that we would hear in Jan 2011 if we were selected but I think it may be before this time as the televised round in Liverpool - which is where I am - is being recorded on the 22nd of Jan.
