The Marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton 1 by Deb We'll be having a marriage in the family soon and what a lovely royal couple they seem to make. I already have my hankie ready. Does anyone know of the time of the official announcement and Kate Middleton's natal chart details? Here is a link to Prince William's birth chart (maybe Mark will put his own copy of the chart in this thread?) http://www.skyscript.co.uk/cancercharts.html#pw Prince William said on the news last night that they got engaged about 6 weeks ago whilst in Africa, but kept the news low until it was appropriate to make a formal announcement. It was said that one of the reasons for the delay was that it wasn't deemed appropriate to give out 'joyful' news until after the solemnity of Remembrance Sunday. Still it's interesting to see how the news was delivered as Venus and Jupiter stationed in positive aspect, making hits to Prince William's natal Venus at 25.40 Taurus. (Andrew commented on this in another thread). The wedding chart is likely to get a lot of astrological attention, so it seems worthwhile creating this thread now, to see what members make of the astrology of this, and to keep all the relevant background information together. And good luck to them both ! Deb Quote Wed Nov 17, 2010 2:14 pm
2 by Andrew Bevan I don't know how fast the press are, Deb, but link I provided in the Jupter/Venus thread show that Aftenposten and the guardian ran the stories at the same time, which was about 11.16 am. I expect the press ran the story on the double. A press conference or release of news at about 11.00 am seems a probability. Pluto and the North Node would have been in the ascendant. The midpoint of stationary Venus/Jupiter at 10CP38 was on the ascendant at the time the news hit the press at 11.16 am. 3 by Andrew Bevan Looking at the Solar Return of Prince Charles, as the announcement was made only two days after his 62nd birthday, Mercury in this chart is Lord of the 11th house (the 7th from the 5th) and is located on the cusp of the 5th house (his Son) and applies to Mars, who is the Lord of the 10th. Hence, the announcement of the engagement of his firstborn Son, Prince William, to Kate Middleton came quite imminently. http://www.astronor.com Quote Wed Nov 17, 2010 5:50 pm

6 by handn It's true that the Twitter page of Clarence House is today showing different times. I don't know why. Maybe they've mistakenly altered their time zone settings. Yesterday it showed 11:04am, as I copied and pasted above. If you check the rss feed for the Twitter page for Clarence House it still gives 11:04am as the time: http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/208019751.rss If you scroll down and click the link it takes you to this Twitter page, which still has 11:04am: http://twitter.com/ClarenceHouse/status ... 1894835200 If you look at the British Monarchy Twitter page today it still says 11:04am: http://twitter.com/BritishMonarchy ClarenceHouse The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton - www.princeofwales.gov.uk 11:04 AM Nov 16th via web Retweeted by BritishMonarchy and 100+ others The news sources confirm that it definitely wasn't 3:04am - that wouldn't make sense in any case... the spin doctors would be sacked for announcing it in the early hours of the morning! 7 by daz madrigal Handn, thanks for clearing up that misconception, I had a look on Astrodeinst and they were working off the 5 am time, it seemed rather early but the ClarenceHouse twitter page confirmed that time . Very confusing. I'm very glad as I can now repost my opinion there...may as well post it here as well. ahem! 8 by Alice Portman Does anyone know where in Berkshire Kate Middleton was born? Does anyone know what time she was born? If not, perhaps English astrologers can do some detective work? Kate is marrying the 2nd in line to the British throne and is likely to become Queen of England at some stage, so it is desirable for Commonwealth astrologers to know her birth data. 9 by handn Many news reports (including the BBC, which people will tend to believe but which isn't necessarily reliable for things like this in the days of Wikipedia which BBC journalists are as likely as other journalists to copy from) say that she was born in Reading in the Royal Berkshire Hospital, but I don't know if they're right or just blindly repeating what some other news outlets say without checking the facts (obviously this often happens on the web, which is more like an echo chamber than a repository of verified facts). Some other websites say she was born in Bucklebury (which is in the county of Berkshire) which is where her family home is. So far, this location seems less likely to be correct than Reading. Deb asked at the start of this thread if anyone knows her time of birth but so far no data has been found. Birth certificates in England don't record the time of birth so it's unlikely that any birth time we hear about will be verified by documentation. As an aside, England isn't a sovereign State and hasn't had a monarch since 1707, so unless the UK breaks up Kate would become Queen of the United Kingdom. Personally I doubt that the monarchy will continue past the current monarch's reign but that's another matter for a different thread! The position of head of the Commonwealth has already been separated from the position of Head of State of the United Kingdom, so once the current Queen of the UK either resigns from the Commonwealth post or else dies and relinquishes it through her death, the position is up for grabs and won't necessarily be taken up by the next monarch of the United Kingdom. It'll be up to the Commonwealth itself to decide. Regards H. Quote Fri Nov 19, 2010 12:48 am
10 by Mark As an aside, England isn't a sovereign State and hasn't had a monarch since 1707, so unless the UK breaks up Kate would become Queen of the United Kingdom. Quite correct. Its rather irritating when people use that term 'King/Queen of England' for the modern monarchy of the United Kingdom. Especially if you are Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish. This inaccuracy gives the impression the United Kingdom is England writ large. One cannot help feeling this is the implicit assumption of some people. Personally I doubt that the monarchy will continue past the current monarch's reign but that's another matter for a different thread! Considering the impending royal mania about to sweep the UK this might not be the best time to predict the demise of the UK monarchy! Still there is Bernadette Brady's suggestion William could be the last UK Monarch based on the Saros cycle going back to the first Anglo-Saxon kings. As a sceptical republican rather than a gushing royalist I have to watch my prejudices dont get the better of my astrological judgement here. Current opinion polls indicate the monarchy is overwhelmingly popular here in the UK (in England especially). A lot of that is due to immense personal respect for Queen Elizabeth II as sovereign. I am sure the forthcoming royal wedding will give such sentiment a boost. Still, everything could change with Prince Charles on the throne and/or a royal divorce or scandal. True. Although the UK monarch will remain the reigning monarch and head of state of 16 independent sovereign states known as the Commonwealth realms. The largest of these are Canada and Australia. However, it seems more a matter of when not if Australia will become a republic.
