by Paul By the way, the Moon does aspect Jupiter, by a square, shows it has been a difficult process. But Jupiter receives the Moon well, because the aspect is being done from a sign it rules. Mars is also ruled by Jupiter, and the Moon doesnt aspect Mars, so i am not concerned about it. Sure, I meant more that the Moon's next aspect isn't to Jupiter, it isn't applying to Jupiter here, it's applying to Saturn instead, after it perfects its aspect with Saturn, THEN it will go on to make other aspects such as those to Jupiter. What I meant is that it's actually going to apply to Saturn before Jupiter and so is an example of frustration: http://www.skyscript.co.uk/gl/frustration.html So the promise of the perfection of Moon and Jupiter is compromised by the aspect to Saturn. Whether or not the frustration is enough to prevent the Moon Jupiter aspect remains to be seen I guess. As you say, Jupiter at least receives Moon and if you are taking this Moon to be cazimi then maybe there's enough there to compensate for the sextile to Saturn, which is after all not a particularly difficult aspect. It's just that I'm not sold on a Moon being cazimi like this, but perhaps it is. You mentioned Frawley says that the Moon can be cazimi so perhaps I'm worrying over nothing. I might re-read that section if you have the page number? Quote Tue Dec 07, 2010 6:36 pm
by elumen While cazimi is a special place, it does not make the Moon stronger per se, it is still a new Moon which has to go through a lot before it can manifest its power. New Moon even with cazimi is not a favorable indication, it means the situation or querent is in the very beginning stage of something and unlikely something will come out of for a while, also the Sun fortifies or "impregnates" the Moon, but it still blinds it. Jupiter is strong in this chart I agree, but I have not seen anything come out of the new Moons. Perhaps, cazimi indicates that the Sun gives a seed to the Moon (that's how Deb explained it) so in this situation, the seed maybe planted in the old employer's mind, that Gsoler might get a job again after a while. The New Moon is a place of new beginning, vulnerability and no strength, even with cazimi, sorry, Gsoler, but I do not see it as a absolutely positive chart at least from the point of view of getting the old job back soon. THe most positive factor is that L10, Jupiter is on the Asc, that's a good sign, but the Moon is new, and it will make an aspect to Saturn first, Saturn is L12, which is not a favorable house for the querent, and Mars is in the 10th house and peregrine, and Uranus is in the 1H with Jupiter. I'd say the chart has mixed indications, and while the possibility to get the job back is strong, it will take some time and effort to get the desired outcome. 16 by Gsoler The sextile to Saturn is a very good aspect indeed. If it had been a square or opposition then i would be concerned. Sextiles are friendly aspects. There is no frustration here, at all. In Horary astrology, we always allow all the aspects the Moon makes before leaving the sign, always, to grasp the interpretation. In any case, Saturn rules the 11th and the 12th, the organization's money and paperwork/contracts. Quote Tue Dec 07, 2010 7:11 pm
by Gsoler I disagree with your reading but it doesnt matter. Lets just wait until events unfold or not. If nothing has happened this month then you are right. In any case, the New Moon is away from the MC, its taking place on the ninth house, not on the tenth. The beginning situation is not tyaking place with me or the employer, but on the ninth house. We always allow all aspects the Moon makes before leaving the sign, always, and this is a sextile, its a friendly situation, not an obstacle. So that sextile to Saturn is not an obstacle. Saturn its exalted where it is, if it had been in detriment it would have been a problem. I am so sure of this i could bet a 100 bucks on it. Lets wait and see! Remember I also have that chart done on 21st October 2009 as a back up. Quote Tue Dec 07, 2010 7:47 pm
by Gsoler By the way, new moons also signify that whatever is happening takes place hidden from one's eye. Indeed, that is what has been happening. I held the deputy position for the job am being considered. So it would not be a total surprise if they chose me for that position am thinking about. Quote Tue Dec 07, 2010 7:51 pm
by elumen Of course, we wish you to get the job that you want Gsoler! Please keep us updated as to what will develop. This discussion (and agreements or disagreements over the interpretations) is from point of view of horary indications only! It will be very interesting to see how this situation will pan out. 20 by Gsoler This is the common understanding about Cazimi planets: "Cazimi or "in the heart of the Sun", is the position of a planet in tight conjunction with the Sun within 17' (minutes of arc). The Sun's radius on the sky is 17'. This planetary position is said to be one of great strength, the planet is fortified by the Sun's rays. Also called "zaminium". William Lilly, the authority in horary astrology, says of a cazimi planet to be "wonderous strong". Abu Ma'shar says a planet in cazimi is like "like a man who purifies himself and so lacks strength, but will regain health afterwards". A contemporary astrologer Nina Holy affirms of a planet in cazimi that the close proximity to the Sun bestows great protection on the planet, a kind of cosmic protective hand. The horary charts with a planet in cazimi are quite rare, is this happens only a few days per year." http://www.astrologyweekly.com/special- ... cazimi.php Quote Tue Dec 07, 2010 7:55 pm
by Gsoler And according to Agrippa, as quoted by Chris Warnock: http://www.renaissanceastrology.com/sil ... isman.html Cazimi Moon is the greatest accidental situation inn which a Moon can be. Anybody still doubts it? Quote Tue Dec 07, 2010 8:00 pm
by Paul There is no frustration here, at all Why not? The Moon apsects Saturn before perfecting its aspect with Jupiter. Is that not frustration? How do you define frustration then? The horary charts with a planet in cazimi are quite rare, is this happens only a few days per year." The sun moves a whole degree (give or take) every day, so in order for a planet to be within 17 minutes, it has roughly half a day to make it cazimi before it goes back to combustion so it's actually even less than that, so yes, rare indeed. William Lilly, the authority in horary astrology, says of a cazimi planet to be "wonderous strong". I wasn't aware of Abu Mashar's interpretation, but this definition given by Lily is the one I was familiar with and so I wondered why you suggested cazimi suggested a lack of strength, when Lily and others suggest it's a great accidental dignity and would therefore confer strength. Thanks for AbuMashar's quotation. Perhaps Deb might weigh in on the issue of the Moon being cazimi? I disagree with your reading but it doesnt matter. Lets just wait until events unfold or not. Of course and I really hope that you get it and that I'm wrong btw! I'm not disagreeing out of any reason to want you to not get it, I'm just looking at the astrology here and don't quite follow your reasoning, I think there are positive testimonies (particularly Lord 10 well dignified and in your first house etc), but also negative testimonies (new moon, frustration by saturn etc) and am only discussing the astrological nuances here, nothing else. Fingers crossed you get it and you'll be $100 dollars richer Quote Tue Dec 07, 2010 8:04 pm

Though it's worth pointing out that the moon is cazimi every single month of course. I've looked up online what others say of cazimi moons and its all favorable so perhaps my worries of it being a new moon are not grounded in good astrology. I guess it might be one of those confusing things. New moons are bad but cazimi moons are good, but you cannot have a cazimi moon unless it's a new moon. :S Quote Tue Dec 07, 2010 8:12 pm
by elumen Paul and Gsoler, I was at a lecture with Deb a month ago, and she said that even cazimi Moon is still not a strong moon, it is dignified in a sense of carrying the potential, literlly the "seed of the Sun" but it is not making it strong on its own. so I think that dignity does not indicate "getting" one's desire met fast. It takes time. It'd be great to get a comment from her. Quote Tue Dec 07, 2010 9:58 pm
