13 by Tienka Atema Hi all, I have Mars in Capricorn in the 3rd. I used to work in a hospital on the intensive care unit. I can handle stress very well:) and I am very action orientated when I need to get things done. The square to the ascendant shows to me that I am a bit too straight forward by times. I am not an angry person, perhaps because Mars is sextiling Venus and the Moon? Uploaded with ImageShack.us Tienka www.astrologiepraktijk.nl Quote Thu Dec 09, 2010 8:01 pm
14 by Tienka Atema I like to add some comments on Mars. He is the lord of my 7th house and I married the boy next door, so to speak: he lived on number 8, I lived on number 9 and he moved to our street when I as 8 years old, he was 12 at that time. Our lives are very much intertwined: our parents became friends. He played football with my brothers, I played with his sisters. We are together now for almost 40 years, can't believe it myself! Isn't that a nice description of the lord of the 7th in the 3rd? Mars is also the lord of my 2nd house and he earns much more than I do bye, Tienka www.astrologiepraktijk.nl Quote Thu Dec 09, 2010 11:10 pm
15 by Deb Thanks Tienka, lovely story and example of how it works out in your chart. And you have Mars at 22 Capricorn too! Through all the references to husbands and marriage , I wonder if we are glimpsing a theme of fidelity, or a tendency against a multitude of relationships , which would seem quite Capricornian anyway? Thanks for these examples - fascinating to get these quick snapshots of how the theme plays out across different lives. Does anyone have any negative examples of Mars not functioning well in Capricorn? Quote Fri Dec 10, 2010 8:31 am

Wasn't meant to be Frank, never mind. Sorry for taking the thread off topic for no reason. Looks like you made better choices before learning astrology Astrology gives one the justification to change their minds-conveniently. PD Quote Fri Dec 10, 2010 8:55 am
17 by AquaStella I have Mars in Capricorn in the 9th house, trine the Asc, ruling my 7th and 12th house. I met my immigrant husband at University (where we both studied engineering as military reserve officers). We later served in the aiforce together. Mars ( 24:56 Capricorn) is at the Antiscion of the well known "degree of flight" (5 deg Sag) so maybe that's why we are aerospace engineers. I don't have a problem controlling my temper. Actually I'm rather sluggish and avoid confrontations and can't stand any form of violence. Mars and the rest of my planets are disposited by a combust Saturn in the 9th, which is , by far, the strongest planet in my chart (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn in Aquarius, all surrounding the Mc, with Moon in Libra in trine aspect to them). Venus, the asc ruler, is Cazimi. Mars in Capricorn is a lonely planet in my chart and doesn't have much to say to the rest of the gang. Maybe that's also why I prefer Astrology to engineering. It might be that my exalted Mars, ruling 7th and 12th, is the reason why I felt I had some senior, prominent sexist men as powerful enemies, during my rather short careers in the army and the academy. Unlike Steven, I didn't travel abroad before I had all my 4 kids, and my trips overseas were few and short in duration. Quote Fri Dec 10, 2010 11:15 am

My husband and I have been married for 30 years and I am his wife no. 1, although he is my husband no. 2. Tara Quote Fri Dec 10, 2010 1:30 pm

Hmm. I've not married, but I do practice fidelity when in a relationship - of which there have been quite a few. Serial monogamy, some call it. Frank Piechoski Quote Fri Dec 10, 2010 2:10 pm

Interesting you say this as I looked at my notes and for Mars in Cap I had ''could be scared to be in bed with a complete stranger''. I'd have thought if a women had this they would find qualities such as earthiness, ambition, strength of will and determination attractive. I'm interested as to why Steven does not consider his interest in Kung Fu/Self-Defence as not being a tight fit for Mars in the 8th (where we are most vulnerable)? Quote Fri Dec 10, 2010 3:27 pm
21 by Deb I just want to thank everyone who has added new posts. I'm fully distracted this weekend with house repairs that must be done for Christmas, but its been a treat to read the new contributions. I have a few thoughts and questions I would like to add after the w/end when I have more time. Thanks again! Deb Quote Fri Dec 10, 2010 8:06 pm

You might be surprised if you had gone to bed with someone else and then found out that at some point they had been replaced. The quote means someone - you do not know very well. Personally my concerns would be more to do with what mood I was in, what they looked like, were they taking up to much of the bed and had they paid. But then my Mars isn't in Capricorn. Yes the proclivities of humans are various particularly in regard to who we're comfortable having in bed with us, but I'm imagining you have something in Capricorn if your last concern is any indicator. Or Taurus. ??? Quote Sat Dec 11, 2010 9:54 pm
