Hello Jerry,

Welcome to Skyscript!

Thanks for your analysis. You made a wise choice in making your first post on Skyscript here in the mundane forum. :D I look forward to reading other interesting contributions from you in future.
The Dec 21, 2010 lunar eclipse is certainly a factor to consider because it is intensely stimulating No. Korea's natal Uranus (0 Cancer)
Indeed. Plus as I pointed out earlier the South Korean Uranus is even closer to the lunar eclipse at exactly on 29 Gemini.

Lunar Eclipse 21. Dec 2010, 08.14 GMT

It seems like a good idea to repost the Astro*Cartography Map for the Lunar Eclipse Dec 21. 2010 here, as it is viewed in the Eastern Asia. The chart shows how Sun is setting in the West at the moment of the eclipse and the eclipsed Moon is rising in the East on the ascendant of Korea, in the very area of maximum tension. Jupiter and Uranus are on the Midheavan of the East Coast of Japan.

This map was previously posted under the thread on the Soltice Lunar Eclipse. The full map may be viewed here with also a map showing the eclipse on the horizon of Britain.

Hi Andrew,

I wonder if you can offer some analysis to the following..... drawing a chart up for the Moon/Saturn - Mars square (5:42 am December 29th Seoul, So. Korea), I noticed the midpoint to be right on the November 23rd (Yoengpong Island bombing) chart Sun (1 Sagittarius). Any thoughts?

S Korea To Hold Live-Fire Drills On Yeonpyeong Island

BBC News
December 16, 2010

South Korea says it will hold live-fire exercises on Yeonpyeong island, the first since it was shelled by North Korea last month.

The one-day exercises would be held between 18 and 21 December and would be observed by the US-led UN Command, the South Korean military said.

It is my opinion that it would seem likely South Korea would stage this one day exercise on Yeonpyeong island after New Mexico's Governor Bill Richardson's winds up his diplomatic visit in North Korea. He is expected to depart on Monday December 20th. It would be logical to assume therefore that the 'provocative' South Korean artillery firing could conceivably take place on December 21st, the day of the lunar eclipse.

Hi I know I'm repeating myself a little, but I personally think it may be a red herring to concentrate on the Mars/Saturn square in this context. I would have thought this less an aspect of major conflict, and more specifically suggestive of major fires in buildings, or major fire events. The seriousness of which is perhaps suggested by the wider aspect picture that the square is involved in. In this case there isn't really any such major picture. Or am I wrong?? I suspect that we may have some noteworthy fire in the news , probably this coming week before the culmination of the aspect since for some reason the Mars/Saturn square seems to produce early results.

I suppose perhaps that some specific event in this Korean standoff could result in fires, but not sure that we shouldn't be looking further afield?

The Mars/Saturn square is important because it's angular in Korea's (use North or South, the ascendant barely changes) Capricorn Ingress chart.
Hi Olivia, if angularity is important then that in itself takes in more locations than Korea. ALso how malign is this aspect in itself?? Both significators are dignified , and it could be argued that Saturn has the upper hand. Surely this curtails "martial" activity. There is no application to any wider picture including outer planets if you use them.

Obviously squares between Mars and Saturn are plentiful, unless of course you narrow that down to squares between these two planets in Capricorn and Libra. I checked and this particular cardinal square occurs approx every 30 years , and the only repeating theme I could see was in significant fires. Where these had major consequence other planets were closely aspected too. In this case they are not.
kind regards

Hello, Mike
Hi Olivia, if angularity is important then that in itself takes in more locations than Korea.
Of course it does, but the context is everything - which other locations, having this constellation angular, are also technically at war with each other and threaten to renew the hostilities (as we all know Koreas do)?
Both significators are dignified , and it could be argued that Saturn has the upper hand
Saturn dignified, having the upper hand doesn't help the situation at all, it can only make it worse (at least according my traditional astrology knowledge) because he is the final receiver of the disposition via strong, tense aspects of the planets located on the angles of the Capricorn ingress chart.
The Moon, located in the 7th(war, hostilities) and ruling the same applies by opposition(enmity) to Mars on the Ascendant(in itself a very bad sign, the natural ruler of war sitting on a crucial angle which it rules by exaltation) without reception(which may, if present, allay the tensions a bit); Mars then commits its disposition to the greater malefic in its exaltation which also happens to be accidentally very strong by being oriental and in its diurnal sect above the horizon.

Ramesey speaks (echoing the 'ancients') about the tense aspects of the superiors in an ingress chart as the most assured sign for the outbreak of wars and hostilities.
Saturn in this case doesn't/cannot receive Mars, according to Bonatti, because of the square aspect. Saturn naturally rules death and destruction, and Mars refuses him anyway because Saturn aspects him out of Mars's detriment. The rulers of war/death coming together per square aspect, without reception is a very sure sign that the hostilities will resurface again. Especially if we bear in mind that the Moon, the general significator of the people/development of any situation is attacked by both malefics. Mars is all the more vicious because it is located on the 'demonic degrees' which precede the Sun's path; Mars is in his 'dark' phase before going into combustion so he tries his best to behave as badly as he can, while he still can...before he gets entirely overwhelmed by the power of the Sun.

Now where do these two (Mars/Saturn) come from in the Aries ingress chart of North Korea(1948.)?
The 8th! Their original position could not be more damaging than this. It's all about death and destruction. In that chart, they're conjunct, so we might say that in this Capricorn ingress chart they repeat their initially given bad signification and relationship, which is highly significant for the forecast.
All the more so because in the original Aries ingress chart, Mars rules the angle of the earth(the end of the matter). When the war starts again, the conclusion is going to be very ugly and with great destruction.

If we profect the ascending sign of the Aries ingress for the 63rd year of N.Korea's existence, we come to the year ruled by Aquarius, i.e. Saturn and this certainly spells trouble for the obvious reasons - taking both positions of Saturn into consideration and its repeated relationship with the god of war.
Moreover, in the Aries ingress chart the Moon is also determined to the 7th(by division) and to the 8th(whole sign). In the Capricorn ingress, the Moon is in the 7th and ruling it...cardinal angles testify to the swiftness of change/hostility occurring after the ingress.

What is also very important is the fact that the angles of Aries/Capricorn ingresses for this year are nearly identical, Mars being located in the 7th by division in the Aries ingress chart, committing his disposition to retrograde Saturn in Libra in the 9th(by division) which is unable to keep his light so Mars's own light is returned to him - the 'god of war' has the final say on the matter for this year.

At least, that's my humble opinion on the matter by a relatively quick analysis :)

Goran

South Korea intend to perfom a new military exercise outside Yeonpyeong some time between first coming Saturnday and next Tuesday. Tuesday is the day of the Lunar Eclipse.

North Korea half retorted that if this exercise does take place they are due launch an attack against South Korea that involves the use of nuclear weapons. :?

I'm not following this thread with the due attention, because here we have closer problems to think to Korea, but I liked very much your reading.

I wonder if the recent protests in UK and Italy - in every case if protesters could cross Berlusconi car I really doubt he would have the same happy end as Camilla- are in linked in some way to the wicked conjunction Saturn-Mars and its developing.
