An article from Reuters suggesting public protests are going to intensify into 2011 as opposition to European government austerity packages mobilizes.

I will be displaying Capricorn ingress charts for several Eurpean countries here soon. I think these reflect this developing trend.

Here is a short film showing interviews with a cross section of citizens trying to cope in the new European 'austerity zone'.

Capricorn Ingress charts-general comments:

The Moon is in the 10th house and in its sign of domicile rulership in Cancer. Its strengthened by being in a feminine sign in a night chart. This may well be reflecting public protests and action in the political sphere. However, this Moon is also essentially besieged between Pluto and Mars. Its separating from an opposition to Pluto and applying by opposition to Mars as Lord 2 (EU, France, Germany) or Lord 3 and 8 ( Spain, Portugal, UK) Mars at 10 Capricorn is close to critical degrees for many national charts. For example the UK (1801) chart.

Uranus is closely angular in the United Kingdom ingress chart descendant. Ingress Mars on the England (1066) Sun, Ingress Moon opposing (1066) Sun. Uranus on (1066) Moon. Solar eclipse (04/01/2011) in UK 2nd house and opposing Pluto (1927 chart). Jupiter (Lord 4) sq MC in UK Ingress chart.

Pluto is close to the IC in the Italian Capricorn Ingress. The Moon is closest to the MC in the ingress for Italy and especially Germany.

No prizes for spotting the MC is on the forthcoming Lunar eclipse! Uranus exactly on the DESC. It looks like another major crisis ahead for the Euro and European economies.

Just a short mention to the angular Moon in a large conjunction with the South Node, in inreceptio with Mars. Moon in fact is in Mars' debility, Mars is Moon debility.

Hello Margherita and all,

the charts for Italy and Germany seem to carry the worst symbolism because of the angularity of both malefics which oppress the Moon by hard aspects. Moon/Mars especially symbolizes riots and the growth of tensions...Germany may see further increase in neo - nazi 'activities' with violent clashes. The opposition to government will be on the rise in both countries and it is going to manifest in the streets - especially in Italy, given the background of recent protests against Berlusconi. Saturn in the 1st is probably bringing some further unpopular restrictions upon the populace which will additionally serve to raise tensions, as well as symbolizing ' political opposition' to the government gaining strength and influence.

At first glance, Spain seems to be the most probable candidate for the next big bailout, since the second is ruled by Venus and she doesn't behold her own house; the position of Jupiter, natural ruler of money and substance on the cusp of the 7th, one of the signs for a financially bad period.

I have to confess that I am more than a little sceptic of the real possibility of making predictions for countries in Europe without reference to a "foundation" chart...

The foundation chart for the US is easy: the first ruler of the dynasty took possession in 1789.

On Interpres Stellarum there were much talking about the foundation of germany being in 1918, but I am much more convinced by 1870. France and others I have no idea.

In that case care to offer us the date for the United Kingdom?

Interesting as that is not the first American government as the United States of America existed before this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Articles_of_Confederation

Still the modern USA was established with the creation of institutions such as the President, the House of Representatives, Senate, Supreme Court and the written constitution used today. I agree this date is the sensible option.

I would like to open a thread on this to share some ideas.

I see no logic in using an 1918 chart for Germany. The Weimar Republic
( 1918-1933) was neither the first nor the last constitutional arrangement in Germany. I can see the argument of using the old Imperial date of 1870. Unification happened in January 1871 so the prior Aries ingress was in 1870. However, using the same logic you just used for the USA the logical date for the modern Federal Republic of Germany is actually 1949 with the formation of the Basic law which is the constitution of modern Germany. Unification didn't change this in 1990 as the former East Germany was absorbed as various Federal l?nder. I therefore see 1949 as the foundation date for modern democratic Germany and would base my Ingress chart from then. The only problem with this is that the original capital of the Federal Republic of Germany was Bonn but has shifted back to Berlin. I am not sure about the idea of 'relocating' an Aries Ingress chart.

Again I should agree with you. :)
I did not mention in my previous post because here most of the astrologers follow the rule that day planets below the horizon are well placed in a night chart, but in Cieloeterra they consider in a chart angular planets not in agreement with their hairesis always tending to bad doing.

Firmicus (II.20.11-12):
? For if the planets which rejoice by day are in important houses in a diurnal chart, and are found on the first cardinal points, they portend the greatest increase in good fortune. But if the planets which we said rejoice by night are in the important houses or cardinal houses in a diurnal chart, they indicate unending misfortune and constant catastrophe.
We should observe this also in nocturnal charts, but with the order of influence in reverse.

One might also take into account the chart of the Euro-Bank in Frankfurt:
June 1st, 1998, 00:00 MESZ (-2) , Frankfurt am Main (caution: there are two Frankfurts in Germany!).
What we find in that chart for the time being: sec.progr AC conj Neptune -among others. It's worthwhile having a closer look at the chart.
The Euro was meant to support European integration. However, it is about to totally damage it. The greater part of the people here in Germany feel that this country must have been mad when it threw away the DM (Deutschmark) as if it was some kind of rubbish - it was most certainly the very opposite. There is a growing fury ("Let the Germans pay!"). People over here wonder why they should support countries that have been unable - and worse: unwilling! - to face the present and future challenges.
Have a look at the chart of the EU - 1.1.1958 Rome or Brussels (preferably).

LL

And I agree, Saturn seems to be especially nasty in nocturnal charts, although the worst influence is perhaps a bit mitigated because of its position under the horizon with the Sun and in a masculine sign. The question remains for me, just how much, if anything, this might help (as Bonatti suggests).

If we apply this same principle onto Capricorn ingress chart for N.Korea, we get an immensely destructive out of sect Mars on the Ascendant, above the horizon with the Sun; the Moon, ruling the 7th, shares almost the same fate although it is below the horizon in a feminine sign...let's wait and see what happens. I personally believe another, far greater conflict on the Korean peninsula is in the making and is going to erupt soon.

I would also urge consideration of the role Saturn in the second house in several of these charts by whole sign ( France, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom). The Moon is applying by square to Saturn. This seems a very reflective image for public anguish over the cuts.

I dont think its an issue about what Cieloeterra teach versus any other school. Its about the difference in how planetary sect was approached in hellenistic and medieval astrology. Its quite common for hellenistic sources to consider a planet out of sect simply by being in a night or day chart. Other considerations-above/below horizon, masculine/feminine sign or planetary phase. were sometimes considered too. However, they were supplementary to the issue of whether the planet was in a day or night chart. Hence to a hellenistic astrologer this Saturn is in the most important sense out of sect although all the possible mitigations are operating which counter this somewhat.

Would also be interested in the Chart for Belarus as I think the riots are NOT over and I think that people are more than a bit annoyed there. hmmm,

I haven't seen Europe this worked up in a long while.

Hello Granny,

I am planning to do threads on the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Eastern Europe if time allows. I will add Belarus to the list!
