"A Man Declared Bankrupt is given an opportunity to Restart"

He'll be able to carry on but as a somewhat humbled and diminished figure.
Ok even a stopped clock is right occasionally. :' Well it is nearly Christmas so I will give a nod to Sabian symbols on that one.

As you are so fond of degree symbolism I wonder if you have you checked out older degree symbolism systems such as Charubel and Sepharial?

There is also the medieval Astrolabium Planum. Here is link to get a free copy from Margherita Fiorello's excellent blog:

Personally I prefer something more tangible like a fixed star. As Granny pointed out earlier this lunar eclipse was conjunct Betelgeuse (Moon) and the nebula Acumen (Sun). Betelgeuse is a star of the nature of Mars and Mercury according to Ptolemy. I dont agree with the rosy picture Bernadette Brady paints of this star in her Book of Fixed Stars. Its always had a reputation as an unstable and potentially violent star. Its nature doesn't fit well with the Moon in particular due to its Mars nature. For example the Moon was on Betelgeuse during the 9/11 attacks. Its also noted for having a variable magnitude which means it sometimes outshines Rigel the other bright star in Orion. Its a 'Red Giant' which is near the end of its life as a bright star. Many think it is due to supernova soon or may have already done so. As its about 600 hundred light years from earth it could have exploded before Christopher Columbus or Martin Luther and we still wouldn't have seen the impact yet..... The Star is only about 6-8 million years old which makes it the equivalent to the James Dean of fixed stars ie die young and go out with a bang.

I am posting this map again because there has just come in a report of a 7,4 Richter size Earthquake South East of Japan at 25N52, 143E44. That is directly below the Uranus-line refered to in the earlier post. Calculations show that the MC for the Lunar eclipse at this location is 26PI46 with Uranus at 26PI46.

From USGS:Region: BONIN ISLANDS, JAPAN REGION
Geographic coordinates: 26.866N, 143.739E
Magnitude: 7.4 Mw, Depth: 14 km
Universal Time (UTC): 21 Dec 2010 17:19:41
Time near the Epicenter: 22 Dec 2010 03:19:41
Local standard time in your area: 21 Dec 2010 17:19:41

The epicentre of the Earthquake occured under the Uranus line and in the extreme South of the map provided.

This has no astrological value but on the subject of Betelgeuse and other fixed stars I cannot resist showing this little diagram which shows the relative size of some stars compared to our sun.

Cable,

Looking at Cables natal chart, I think He will weather the storm. Murdoch is getting some serious push back from many sources right now. Cable will likely come out on the upside of this issue. Also if you are going to look at the transit, you might note, that all those early transiting Cap planets may oppose his Venus, but they will soon Apply as a Trine to his Natal Sun, As well as he very shortly after that eclipse had a lunar return.

I would say it may well be that his momentary upset becomes a rather wonderful upswing in his favor. As in People dont like a bully, and I think Murdoch will come out looking like a Bully in this scenario. thereby pushing people to side with Cable. what do you think? Also note Transiting Venus is in Scorpio trine Cables natal Moon... So we get a popular government leader being worried over, but with his natal chart, I think its the secular guy who should be worried? anyway, just a few thoughts...

anyone have a chart for Murdoch? would be interesting to compare the current transits?

Yeah its worth pointing out the more positive angle of the degree symbolism as I think there is considerable sympathy for Cable and his point of view. Although this affair may have detracted from his political career, on a more personal basis his honesty & integrity has remained intact and may even have been enhanced. An element of hubris and personal vamity has been his undoing (Venus conj eclipse).

Mercury in Gemini conj Saturn would suggest someone who speaks his mind (rather too volubly perhaps).

Gemini 30 Bathing beauties This is a symbol of the soul as wholly inadequate except as it is able to meet some needs of everyday experience with the elements inherent in its make-up and so free from any or all responsibility to anything other then itself. Here individuality gains a needed assurance through the phases of its being which prove immune from change or loss. A person becomes himself as he is able thus to stand radiant and reliant among the total of his fellows. The keyword is charm. When positive, the degree is a special capacity for bringing the familiar desires and interests to an enduring representation of worthiness.

granny_skot wrote:I somewhat suspect that the education taxes may be revised, because it seems to me the charts show that the people and the wealth are with the kids on this one. I could be mistaken, but really, investing in education is the one thing you can do to improve everyones overall quality of life, so it doesn't make sense to restrict it financially and it seems to me its leaning that way, at least with the new moon chart I saw, as well as the chart for the mars moving into Cap. both those charts seem to favor NOT the Government decision but the peoples.
Its going to get very interesting if the UK Govt climbdown and make a major revision to their education policy. There has to be a considerable body of opposition to the fees simply on behalf of those that will have to pay them (not only students but parents). Call me cynical but generally it will be unpopular amongst those out of pocket but more popular amongst those who will either pay less or are freed from paying extra taxes. I can't imagine a populace hit by cutbacks and rising inflation being too happy to find themselves with extra taxes as well. Ultimately someone has to pay.

But yeh ideally everything should be free! And on that note I'll dust off my Mick Farren and Pink Fairies LP's. "Lets Loot The Supermarket Again Like We Did Last Summer" is a particular favourite. 8)

Actually I'm not suggesting Everything should be free, it has been shown that kids who help pay for their college actually do better in class, than when it is completely free. What I'm suggesting is that there are multiple ways to fund schools, and it is in the best interest of the majority, for school to be affordable. ergo, it is in their best interest to find ways to make it possible for more people to get higher education. there are many ways to get funding, doesn't all have to come from those attending.

Alumni associations bring in a great deal of cash, concerts, using some facilities as community facilities on occasion to bring in cash, concerts, plays, seminars, etc... there are ways for education facilities to bring in cash that helps keep the overall tuition reasonable. Okay just my two cents!

PS, though with the people and money in agreement on the education issue, being one and the same planet, mercury, I think that the very least you will HEAR a lot about it. :) G

Brady does disagree with projecting them onto the ecliptic, they have to be aligned very tightly or in paran with them before she considers it legitimate, which is a very different kettle of fish to the Ptolmaic view. I pretty much agree with her.
