by cor scorpii Few quick observations on Aries ingress of 2001. for the US which showed the dangers of a new war/conflict very clearly: - Saturn as a greater malefic just inside the first, as a ruler of a radical lot of war, conjunct Algol. The ruler of the first, Venus, in her detriment and retrograde in the 12th under the rays of the Sun - general indicators of a very bad/dangerous year, bringing suffering and detriment to the nation, especially if we bear in mind Saturn's radical position and aspects and Venus's aspect with Mars in the 8th - the ascendant is in Taurus, exactly the opposite of the radical ascendant - like in the case of comparing nativities and solar return charts, the year is likely to be beset by oppositions, enmities, hostilities - the year's lot of war is co-present with the ascendant and the greater malefic in the 1st - in Aries ingress of 2001, Mars is oriental hence very prominent and strong, ruling the 12th(enemies of the nation) and the 7th(war/hostilities) - the profected year is ruled by Jupiter which is bodily present in the 9th sign(Cancer) but bearing clearly martial symbolism because of its position on fixed star Pollux(Hercules) and bringing death because of its position in the 8th by division(radical ingress's positions/significations). It rules the 4th, so the US territory is attacked. Jupiter's position in the ingress of 2001. is in the first by division as a ruler of the 8th(an important repetition of its signification) in its detriment which makes it a functional malefic; the chart luminary(the Sun) applies to Jupiter which is another bad sign although the danger is mitigated somewhat by Jupiter's reception. However, this doesn't prevent the destruction/death, just limits its scope.Similarly, the theme is repeated by the Moon, which separates from Jupiter and applies to Venus, thus translating the light between the rulers of the 8th and the 1st It is interesting the 9/11 attacks happened in the profected month ruled by Venus(the 6th profected house in Libra) signifying enemies/injuries. Venus's significations/aspects have already been discussed. The war in Afghanistan began a month later, in the profected month ruled by Mars(Scorpio in the 7th). A pretty clear picture, at least from traditional astrology's point of view Goran Quote Sun Jan 02, 2011 4:07 pm
by JerryWatson Hi Goran, In the 9/11 chart (World Trade Center's first impact at 8:45 am), the Moon-Mars opposition (28 Gemini - 1 Cancer) was on the antiscion point, whichn triggered the June 21st, 2001/ 0 Cancer solar eclipse degree. *ANTISCION A point equal in distance on the opposite side of the solsticial axis to a planet's position. It is effectively the "shadow" of a planet. The midpoint of a planet's position and its antiscion is always the point of the solstice. Things that are real are given and received in silence. - Meher Baba Quote Mon Jan 03, 2011 4:07 am
by cor scorpii Hi, Jerry Thank you for providing the definition of antiscia - it is one of those old, important traditional concepts one usually bumps into right at the beginning. I began with "Christian astrology" and there it was Regarding this eclipse, it wasn't visible from the US, only from South America and Africa so I don't think, by following the 'ancients' on this, that it had much influence upon the events following it (9/11 and the war in Afghanistan). 124 by JerryWatson Hi Goran, From all that I have gathered, the trajectoral path of an eclipse is not an overwhelming deciding factor in how things play out in mundane astrology. The eclipse operates on many levels. Here's an excerpt from an article that will help to illustrate this..... "....... Often, it?s a square, opposition, or conjunction from transiting Mars to the eclipse point that brings simmering confrontations to a head. Here are two recent and notable examples: * In 2001, the September 11 attacks and invasion of Afghanistan occurred when transiting Mars reached the points of two solar eclipses the previous summer, on June 21 at 0 deg. Cancer and July 5 at 14 Capricorn (the degree of the fixed star Manubrium, a star of military strategy). * On December 21, 1991, a lunar eclipse at 29 Gemini marked the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War. Four months after the eclipse, with Mars square the eclipse point at 25 Pisces, wide-scale rioting broke out in Los Angeles following the acquittal of white police officers accused of beating black motorist Rodney King. For the present eclipse (Dec 21, 2001), look to late March and early April, as transiting Mars at late Pisces/early Aries (ruled by Mars) squares this eclipse point, for an activation of this eclipse?s warlike flavor. But though we may not recognize it, there could be an instigating event around February 20, when Mercury, Mars, and Neptune come together in late Aquarius, trine the eclipse point." http://www.bigskyastrology.com/articles ... -dark.html Quote Mon Jan 03, 2011 3:17 pm

by yuzuru Hi, Goran interesting analysis, I never used the part of battle and war in the ingress of 2001. in 2000, US entered the firdaria of the moon. I correctly expected the current crisis because every time the US entered the firdar of moon- north node- south node - they went into trouble (civil war and great depression). 127 by cor scorpii the trajectoral path of an eclipse is not an overwhelming deciding factor in how things play out in mundane astrology. The eclipse operates on many levels. This may be true, but neither is the point of the eclipse and the hard aspects of Mars to it the most important tool of prediction(as this article seems to suggest since it doesn't use any other chart and it only mentions certain fixed stars) - at least, not from the traditional perspective. The visibility of the eclipse is an important indicator where its effects are most likely to be felt. No eclipse chart can bring something which isn't also indicated by other important mundane charts - traditional mundane astrology functions on a principle of 'wheels within wheels.' Simply saying that there's going to be a significant event somewhere in the world because Mars has activated the degree of the eclipse is no prediction at all - for the obvious reasons. It is always easy to analyze and predict in hindsight, and that's what most of us are actually doing here most of the time I say if something extraordinary happens anywhere, it is most likely to happen in Korea when Mars activates the eclipse degree, since the eclipse was angular there in the 1st, the Moon(the chart luminary) being almost to a minute exactly on the ascending degree. At the same time, the eclipse falls almost exactly upon 1st-7th axis of the foundational Aries ingress of 1948. and has again Mars in the 7th. And so on and so forth. To cut the long story short, the approaches we're using to examine/predict mundane events are almost totally different and hence hard to reconcile with one another - no disrespect/disparagement intended. As always, everyone is entitled to their opinion Regards, Goran Quote Mon Jan 03, 2011 8:47 pm
by JerryWatson Hi Goran, Perhaps we should keep it simple. Referring back to your previous comment:Regarding this eclipse, it wasn't visible from the US, only from South America and Africa so I don't think, by following the 'ancients' on this, that it had much influence upon the events following it (9/11 and the war in Afghanistan). There are quite a number of published astrological articles on the subject. The majority of those articles support the view that the Mars transit to the solar and lunar eclipses of June 21st and July 5th were primarily responsible for activating the 9/11 attacks and its aftermath, the invasion of Afghanistan. For one, the Mars transit in early October at 13/14 Capricorn coincided with US/ British preparations for military operations. In the chart set for the time of the beginning of the aerial bombing campaign on October 7, 2001, we find Jupiter at 14 '38 Cancer in square to the Sun at 14 '27 Libra and in opposition to Mars at 16 '45 Capricorn. In a Mountain Astrologer article entitled: 'The Day the World Changed: The Terrorist Attacks of September 11 and the U.S. Retaliation' an excerpt reads as follows: "There is further support for the relevance of the June 2001 solar eclipse: The first U.S. attack on Kabul came as the true North Node was at 0?08? Cancer, only 2 minutes of arc from the eclipse degree. The July 5, 2001 lunar eclipse was at 13?38? Capricorn, adding power to the October 7 t-square of Sun-Mars-Jupiter at middle degrees of the cardinal signs." I would strongly urge you to read the article. It may help to clarify the underlying issues....... http://www.mountainastrologer.com/stand ... w_t_c.html It must be kept in mind, the US Sun-Saturn square at 13 '19 Cancer - 14 '48 Libra was heavily impacted at the time. We have a very similar situation with the upcoming January 4th, 2011 lunar eclipse at 13 '39 Capricorn. Quote Tue Jan 04, 2011 1:20 am
by cor scorpii We have a very similar situation with the upcoming January 4th, 2011 lunar eclipse at 13 '39 Capricorn. I think it's a solar one? I already discussed that one regarding its dangerous implications for North Korea. What I'm trying to say is that eclipse charts cannot/shouldn't be taken as a sole/primary indicators of wars or whatever bad happens in the world - I demonstrated this with the analysis of the Aries ingress chart of 2001. for the US. Clear indicators of war are found there and when associated with the natal ingress of 1789., the eclipse chart and other indicators, they point in the same direction. Of course, modern approach is quite different and that's why I said a basic kind of misunderstanding has to arise when trying to compare/reconcile the two. 130 by JerryWatson Yes. I noticed that typo immediately after posting. Thanks for addressing it. The April 3rd Aries New Moon at 13 '30 Aries closely conjoins Jupiter at 15 '44 Aries in opposition to Jupiter at 13 '55 Libra. This could trigger today's solar eclipse. What makes this a turbulent period is the simultaneous Mars/Uranus cojunction at 1 '18 Aries. These are the very same degrees deeply involved in the 9/11 terror attacks. Here's the chart: Quote Tue Jan 04, 2011 11:28 am
by cor scorpii Yes, this new moon may certainly pull the trigger for the US/Korea, or Israel/the Arabs in the neighborhood since these are the hot-spots in the world today and most likely to engage in hostilities. But again, I say this only because both the US and Israel's Aries ingress charts for 2011. contain some pretty serious indicators of war and strife. Regards, Goran Quote Tue Jan 04, 2011 2:26 pm

Quite an interesting observation. One more reason to believe the next few years will probably bring some major war for the US, 2011. being a very dangerous year in this regard. I've checked Aries ingress of 2000 when the Moon assumed firdar rulership - it separates from the Sun in Aries by opposition and applies by a very wide opposition to Mars in Aries. It is posited in the 9th by division and rules the 7th - the US got involved in two wars far away from home I wonder how one should interpret the position of the nodes - only by house/sign or is it 'allowed' to take the dispositor of the node into account, along with the aspects cast toward them? Do you have any sources on this? Regards, Goran Quote Tue Jan 04, 2011 3:38 pm
