Jupiter/Sun/Mercury - TOL?

1
hey all

I have a dumb question

Are we having Translation of light right now among Jupiter / Sun / mercury?

Mercury slowed down slower than Sun. Naturally, Mercury is faster.

Mercury retro is puzzling. Mercury is not peregrine since there is a mixed reception with the Sun.

Sun is combusting Jupiter and Mercury! So I am not sure if the condtions of such trio is capable of bringing anythng to the fruition considering that Moon is void but within orb to Mars.

I am just educationallycurious.

thanks

Hi, CD!

The Sun is currently exalted and Mercury tolerates its heat much better then other planets and technically, in 2 days, Mercury will start translating the light from one planet to the other only, as you already said- what ever it is that this trio is representing in a chart, it looks anything but promising.

Jupiter is damaged by the sunrays and the translator of light is actually retrograde- I wouldn't rely much upon such a TOL even in cases where there is no combustion involved. I'd be more inclined to believe that we are talking about a very critical situation.

But, there will be another TOL these days- the Moon will translate the light from one planet to the other (Jupiter, Sun) as it is about to cast benevolent sextiles onto both planets from Gemini.

Yes, due to its constant proximity to the Sun, it is more resistant than other planets to its rays. On the other hand, the Sun is exalted in Aries which, I would say, increases its generosity and we can expect that a planet so well dignified will generally be less harmful during combustion. In addition, Mercury is well received by the Sun, especially if this figure is found in a diurnal chart (exaltation, triplicity and face). In nocturnal a chart, the triplicity ruler becomes Jupiter.

Still, it is a combustion and the situation is far from perfect; Jupiter is combust and, in case it is one of the main significators, we have have to assume that it has been damaged somehow already! The retrogradation of Mercury is a sign of warning alone - it really doesn't look capable of solving the situation. Besides, it will be peregrine when it reaches the Sun and obviously, it is damaged by the heat.
Given that it is about to form bodily aspects with both planets, we are most likely talking about a very intense activity.

Cheers,

aglaya!

I was thinking that combusted planets usually are damaged internally or physically *depeding what is asked*. Retro Merc is not easy on its own. It is returning to something (thinking or physically). Sun and Mercury mutually applying. It would be interesting to see if anyone would have a chart with this trio and see how it will pan out.

I am not even 100% sure if Sun could rule a person that is freaking Jupiter and Mercury out! (imaginative chart)

I completely agree! :'

Aglaya,

I am making up a chart in my head. Let's say Jupiter rules 1st . Merc rules 7th. Sun is in the middle. Separating combustion is easier than applying one. So

Since Mercury is in Aries, say it is in 1st. Mercury gives all its energy to Jupiter literally. And Sun isdamaging Mercury more because it is applying vs Jupiter's combustion is weakened. If i had seen this situation in someone's chart .. I would have said "careful what you wish for" whoever or whatever Mercury is will come damaged beyond repair.

William Lilly writes

"A retrograde planet, or one in his first station, significator in the Question, denotes ill in the question, discord and much contradiction."

"you must be wary, when in any question proounded you will find the cusp of the 7th house afflicted, or the lord of that house retrograde, or impeded, and the matter at that time not concerning the 7th house, but belonging to any other house, it is an argument the judgement of the astrologer will give small content or anything please the querent; for the 7th house generally has signification of the artist.

food for thought

I don't have time to comment better, but I do recall you asking about combust translators at least two other times, CD! Didn't we already cover this twice? :-cry I realize Mercury is retro, but a Mars in Aries, such as myself, doesn't like to do a repeat session.

Yes Madam... well it was once not twice .. i remember - the Paris trip chart was an example that worked out pretty nicely with a delay due to snow storm.
... the first the original question / horary didnt work out well at all! :)
we had Jupiter in Pisce, Sun in Saggie, Merc in Cappy/Saggie

As a matter of fact, we have almost the same scenario. The combustion intentsity (sun's essential dignities) was bugging me more than TOL itself as well but Aglaya was kind enough to clear the air without me asking

dont cry, Tanit! i totally get it now.. no more questions.

Lesson learned

Be well

I recently read a chart from a woman asking if she and her husband would get back together. Her husband was signified by Mercury Rx (good for 'return' questions) and she was signified by Jupiter, both in Aries, and about to conjunct before the exalted Sun ran over both. More than a translation of light, i ruled that something would interpose itself between them before they had the opportunity to go back together, after which it would be her choice on whether to do so.

After a while, she meets this other guy who is precisely making change her mind. While her husband has yet to reappear, it shows the situation shown by this triplet running in a cardinal, fire sign.

Would you be able to give some practical examples? How can a "damaged" planet behave if it's a main signifactor of the question? Let's say it's a querent to make it simpler.
