Hello, everyone. I'm new to the forum and have enjoyed reading posts and getting to know the lay of the land.

I've been trying to find material written about a peregrine moon - how effective is the moon in this state? I've combed the forum...hope this isn't a topic that has been discussed at length already - if so, can someone direct me to it?

I understand that peregrine planets may not be able to do much (but have symbolic significance in some matters).

But a peregrine moon. Can it translate light? If other chart factors indicate a positive outcome, can a peregrine moon make it all go Poof!? How about if the moon in a peregrine state is the querant's or quesited's signif.? Would you equate it (roughly, symbolically) to a VOC moon?

the Moon is peregrine, or a stranger or in an unfamiliar sign

That is a succinct way of looking at it. But also, in general, as Lilly says, we should always regard the strength or debility of the Moon in any horary chart because she carries the virtue of all other bodies in the chart. He said to regard her strength above all other planets. Any planet peregrine is in foreign territory and wanders aimlessly trying to figure out what to do - it may even look to its dispositor for guidance, and may gain strength by it or another planet that has strength and is able to help.

A "lost" Moon can mean many things, and what comes to mind are such things as the matter lacking any proper planning or execution, confusion, misguidance, being ill equiped to handle the matter, etc. When it is a significator for a person it can also show someone who is lazy, etc. (if you look to Lilly's planetary significations). It can show someone or something being lost or in a foreign land also.

It would depend on whether the Moon is also in fall or detriment because she can be both peregrine and in fall or detriment. Obviously lacking essential dignity on top of being essentially debilitated greatly decreases the Moon's ability to bring positive influences to a chart.

Tanit, this is very helpful - "figuring out what to do" is very descriptive for one of my charts. In my practice charts, with me as Querant, that's exactly what I'm doing - trying to figure out, wandering, getting lost.
