On Serapis

According to Phylarchus the word Serapis means "the power that disposed the universe into its present beautiful order." Other ancient authors, including Macrobius, have affirmed that Serapis was a name for the Sun, becasue his iamge so often had a halo of light about its head. Julian speaks of the deity in these words: "One Jove, one Pluto, One Sun is Serapis.

I mention this because of the configuration of the Sun, Pluto and Jupiter in the skies over the next few days. The Sun will be opposite Pluto with Jupiter as mediator. In this triad, the Sun is Creator, Pluto Destroyer and Jupiter the Preserver; hence - the power that disposed the universe into its present beautiful order.

I opened this because I wanted to know what you wanted to know about Serape's somewhat different than Serapis. had to chuckle! Uranus and Neptune I think are playing in this game, heck with Saturn at 10 Libra, he isn't entirely OUT of the game,

the Picture is a fairly nice Basket, with Saturn the handle I think.

Uranus the only part of the harvest in a fire sign, neptune and jupiter in very fruitful signs, Pluto in the sign of the sea goat, very justice and management related, changes to how management are done, and the sun in Cancer, the fruitfulness of summer, confidence leading on, comfort, barbeques.

I dunno, if it were a birth chart I'd think the person was deep and had a lot to offer, and likely good at creating and managing wealth in in seemingly unusual ways, but also a person who is respected by and considered to be established. the spice of Uranus in Aries likely to be expressed through weird sports or something, like a Ceo who's into parasurfing or something.

And I totally forgot Mars at 5 Gemini, I mean really 5 cap, 0 Pis, 5 Ars, 5 tau, and 5 Gem, and 5Can! I"d say we are missing 5 Aqu, but since Daturn rules both CAp and Aqu, I think Maybe Pluto represents both fairly well, and Saturn as the Handle makes so much sense, Doesn't he?

For people around the North-Sea area: this configuration nicely coincides with the quickly increasing heat since last weekend and its revolutionary end with tonight's heavy rains. I'm glad that this oppressive heat is over for a while.

Well, I have been thorougly run down by clients the last few days. A lot of the stories have reflected different aspects of the Sun, Jupiter, Pluto configuration - but some also relates to Venus allignment with the Moon's South nodes in Gemini:

1) One client was deaf (VE conj SN in GE?) and an interpreter (JU?) mediated her query and the telephone conversation; 2) Another inquired regarding a house that was in an attractive location (JU conj Moon exaltation degree) but there was a water problem in the foundation and basement that has to be corrected (Sun opposite Pluto, Jupiter trine Pluto through signs if short ascension); 3) then there was the issue of the money mover (JU in Taurus) who helped familiies (Sun in Cancer) send funds home to relatives in developing countries (Pluto destructed by Sun); 4) And the partner who broke of a relationship due to repression and unresolved issues down below (Sun opp Pluto) but where the wife is willing to forgive (Jupiter) and work on resolving the differences.

6) Interesting was also the chart of the native born 26 April 1962, who had the Sun in the 6TA, Jupter 7PI and Pluto 8VI - the natal chart was a close replicate of the current configuration.

My birthday is 13 days earlier with Venus at 12 tau Jup at 3 Pi 58, and Pluto at 7 Vir, and that client ALSO has a 10 Aqu Saturn so that Trine to T Saturn 10 Libra has to figure in that chart! Must have been interesting. especially with Mars at 6 Tau.

Scientists have found a gene that makes old Cells young again - in Yeast!

Aftenposten today refers to an article at the New Scientist on July 3., but this again refers to a paper at Sciencemag.org on June 24!! The story is interesting and in revelvence to the balance and order of nature.

In 2005 I posted some thoughts on the Spirit, Soul and Dragon comparing the Spirit as the product of the interplay of a raw energy material (sugar) and a dark digestive body similar to a yeast (Link). I tend to get rather embarressed when exploring into abstractions like this, but it isn't necessary to get everything right to contribute to the thought process. Some of the deepest truths may sometimes be the most simple.

Anything I could come up with is hardly likely to be new, but if anyone wants to explore such perspectives and see where that takes them - welcome!
