Sent email: job update

At the risk of being thought self-absorbed ( :? ) I thought I would give an update on this event chart I posted in the combustion thread because it's turning into a bit of a saga and I really do want the job. My current assignment finishes in 2 weeks, so it's also a "mortgage payment" thing

Data: Thurs 5 May, 12:49pm Adelaide (SAST = GMT+9.5) 138e35 / 34s55
Last year I did a 3 mth assigment for a firm I dearly would have liked to stay with permanently. Complications on their side meant I couldn't. I had been thinking about them this week and yesterday decided to send an email to the Practice Manager asking if there "might be a need for my talents in the foreseeable future." I drafted an email and I don't know how long it sat in draft before I finally sent it. This morning I took a look at the event chart using the time/date stamp of the sent email. . .

Venus is now 1? from the MC and Saturn is in its detriment in the 12th but still making a sextile to Venus. Mars is the strongest planet in the chart and is going to conjunct Uranus then sextile Sun, Venus and MC and trine Saturn while T-squaring Pluto and POF.
Mars has a strength of 20 even though it doesn't rule a relevant house (the next strongest are Venus 12 and POF 10).

So Sun is me, Venus is the new job (10) and I took Saturn (7th) as the Practice Manager.
I think I?ll get a positive answer to my email after a delay. Any naysayers?
I got a reply email on Tues 10 May saying she thought they could handle it because of a restructure giving extra resources. This was when the Moon opposed Jupiter in the 2nd.

Later that day I checked a job site and found an agency advert. which just had to be for them! What to do? Stewed overnight. Did PM only consider me for temporary overload or did she decide I wasn't suitable for the job they were advertising? Won't find out if I don't ask. Wed morning I rang KT, the agency - job was part-time but they are now changing it to full-time, she is waiting for further advice, will call me with the job description.

Friday morning I saw the new job advert on the website - it didn't go up till Thurs night - have not had a call.

Sat I saw another advert by another agency advertising 2 positions available for a company sounding suspiciously similar.

OK - this Thurs 19th, Moon will conjunct Mercury (2H income) and then next day Sun might (?) conjunt MC and Venus (3rd communication). Then about a week later Moon will conjunct NN and trine Pluto ( 5th house of agents? which opposes my POF).

I would appreciate any help here to put me out of my misery. Am I dead in the water yet or should I try and pick some friendly interview times? (Had a look today, - there aren't any :( )

Hi,

A couple of points which may help you. The job and employer I would take as 10th house and possibly the 7th house might show your 'rival' if there is one - so if there is then they've got NO chance!!

I think the ruler of the 10th being stuck on the 10th just shows how they are not budging much - they'll decide. They are obviously in a very strong position and not struggling to find what/who they want.

I personally wouldn't do the whole 'adding up the numbers thing'. Each dignity is of a different nature, giving a different meaning and it doesn't really add anything.

I might try and have another look at this in the morning - it's past my bed-time!

Agreed, an event chart probably does have it's own rules, but the "ball was in play" as it were having sent the email so I thought I'd just follow the Moon's aspects and see if they tied in with anything that happened. Besides, I'll either get it or I won't - and I'll probably know within 2 weeks - so I'll save my horary question for something else. :)

I did assign the 10th to the job and employer, but I chose to see the "employer" as the managing partner who will do the final interview and make the final decision.

The PM (Practice Manager) places the job with the agency and does the first round of interviews. So I gave her 7th when I've just realised today, I probably should have given her the 5th from the 10th (2nd) - because she's his (the company & managing partner) agent not mine.

I'm supposing you can turn an event chart like this? Because the next step is for me to have a look at the 5th from the 2nd (6th) as representing KT, the agency doing the short listing.

Now that hadn't even occurred to me!!! :-T :lala

Hmmm . . . probably true, I'd say they were a desirable company to work for and there will be some top applicants.

Aaah . . time to 'fess up . . . I'm not actually doing the counting since I got Allen Edwall's Horary Helper about 6 weeks/2 months ago. I appreciate it's the kind of tool that can make you a lazy horary astrologer, however I find it helps jog my memory with all the things I need to look at and take into account - and one by one I'm making sure that if I don't understand them or how they were derived or what they are doing in the chart - I find out. In addition, very soon after I got it I ran a chart where I probably would have assigned the significator to something else without the Lilly strengths pointing me at it, since it was in a house that (I thought) had nothing to do with the question.

So it's interesting to just check that against the planet/s which draw my eye. I have Astrowin Express as well, they made an offer I couldn't refuse at Christmas :D Before that I used Astrodienst exclusively.

(A couple of links for those who might be interested. The software is about $US70 and was written using traditional horary rules.)

Hi,

When I originally looked at this I could see two aspects about to perfect. One is Mercury to square (a very poor) Saturn and the other is the Moon to oppose (another poor) Jupiter. Here Mercury shows 2nd house which is your skills, the tools you might use to do the job, or it could mean the money you would get from the job since it also rules 11th; Saturn is ruler of 6th (and 7th); Jupiter is ruler of 8th. This does seem a bit negative so if pushed I'd say it's a no.

But then that possibly is good news as it's coming from me! :lala

Sorry HQ - hopped on lunchtime and forgot to answer this!

Hmmm . . . I can place the Moon opposition Jupiter - 6 days after sending the email, when the Moon perfected the opposition, I got a negative reply from the Practice Manager.

But I think there's an interesting take on the Mercury-Saturn here. I had a call from another agency on Monday 9/5 asking if I wanted to be put forward for something else. Note the Saturn-MC sextile. Last night I was advised they wanted to interview me today and also that of the 3 people put forward I am the only one they asked to interview. I went after work tonight and I will hear tomorrow morning if I've been accepted and if so will start Monday.

As weak as it looked to us both - in detriment and the house of secrets (& its joy) - it actually ruled the 10th (radical 7th) from the radical 10th I was concentrating on and was sitting in the 6th from that - house of servitude to employer or the daily work habit as against the career move I was looking at in the radical 10th. Ruled by the Moon to boot!

There appears to have been a second job ruling the house of others and hiding in the house of secrets - while I was concentrating on the radical 10th. But I'm not sure what the trigger was for today unless the Moon conjuncting Mercury theoretically due tomorrow - 15 days from date of email - operated a day early. But Mercury squares Saturn as you said.

What d'ya think of them apples? :brows

Duh! The answer to that Mercury-Saturn square ignited by the Moon, came at 3.00 am this morning so this is a quick lunchtime update.

Tuesday morning:
  • The alarm didn?t go off and I awoke 1hour 20min late ? not the problem it would normally have been because I was going to a 9.15 dental appointment.

Got to the dentist?s and was quite surprised to discover all I had was my keys. That?s right. No handbag. No carryall. No nothing ? just the keys.

The dentist was already running ? hour late and was due to catch a plane at 11.30 am. He cancelled the two patients scheduled after me. The square was obviously spreading its joy.

Had to go home again to get my things instead of going straight to work. Further delay. Found a message on my answering machine from my cousin to say his sister had died.* (Saturn = natural ruler of 8th)

I did eventually get to work and the day progressed quite normally!

Got home to find a message from agency B wanting to set up an interview time ? too late to ring her. We finally connected at 8.00 am the next morning and I seemed to be back on track. She had also sent an email late Tuesday afternoon and I didn?t get that either. Obviously when the Moon let go of Mercury and moved on, the Saturn sextile MC was able to operate next morning.
Is this better than television or what! :-?

I should have listened to the alarm when it didn?t go off (!?!). It was trying to tell me ?Don?t bother. Stay in bed. Don?t get up. It isn?t worth it!?

Gee ? I just can?t wait for the Moon to trigger the trine to Pluto in the 24/25th :-T

*(My cousin Sandra had experienced kidney problems from the age of 15. She had had two renal transplants and been ?at death?s door? too many times, including a bout with Legionnaire?s disease and a triple heart bypass. It seems after all that, a heart attack may have taken her out. In her own words, she was ?never going to make old bones? but despite all that and spending years on dialysis in between transplants, she married twice, had a daughter and brought up a grandson for the first 8 years of his life. She had passed more milestones than any of us ever expected. A lot of fun and will be sadly missed. Born on 1 July 1946 possibly around 6 am Adelaide SA)

Sorry to hear it sumgem, both your cousing and the job. About your cousin, hope it was an easy passage and everybody is ok. About the job, in nowadays nobody knows how to recognize anything with value...if you doubt it see reality shows like the apprentice :-)

Thought I should do the update on this.

Absolutely nothing remarkable happened that whole week! I think the above chart had run out of "puff".

However on 31st - my last day - I got a 2 week 'filler' and a 4 month assignment after that. The long term one happened in the last half hour of the day with an interview at 8.00am next morning, I start Monday 20 June. I'm still trying to work out what happened. I think it must have been a pre-birthday transit to make up for the earlier disappointments
