Lost item horary - but can you tell what is was?

1
This is a personal horary but I don't want advice on it, I'm posting it because it was such a perfecty descriptive one and I thought you might all like a go at working on the symbolism rather than the answer for a change.

Here is the chart

the actual question I asked was 'where is the x, will I find it and if so when?'

I asked the question in the evening, some hours after the loss
Obviously I am not going to tell you very much at this stage. I'll come back and tell the story at the end of October.

In the meantime you might like to see if you can work out the following:

1) What was the item ( obviously using my Significator, the second house sign and its ruler). You might want to be specific or settle for general comments - i/e small or big, colour, documents or valuables, cheap or expensve or sentimental value etc. up to you really.

2) I knew within the space of 15-20 minutes when I had lost it but what was I doing/where was I ?( the moon and the houses it rules are a big clue here).

As for the outcome. My view when I drew up the chart was that I would find the item eventually but only after a lot of searching and dispondency ( due to square aspect and 6th house nature). I spent a lot of time that evening looking up the meanings of Saturn and 6th house and wondering how they might apply in this case. You are of course welcome to comment on the outcome too and you might disagree with my conclusion.

Good luck

Hi Amelia.
I could say right away that you were at work while lost it and you weren't much about doing you work, anything but work.
That's because Moon detriment at MC.
Also Mercury (the thing) is combusted in 6th and applying to strong but "ashamed" in 6th Saturn, which is 10th ruler - apparently your boss will find it and will be very mad.

I'll try.

Was this an electronic device? Perhaps used for talking and for work? ie: A Blackberry or something? Is it also damaged now? I agree with Yuriy, :' it may be found by the boss.

Hello

I'll have a bash at this because I haven't really studied 'lost object' charts and some of the guidelines for interpretation, for instance in Lilly's textbook, do my head in :) so I thought this would be a good chance to help me figure things out.

I like Talia's idea about the mobile phone/personal organiser. It combines the Gemini/Mercury with the Libra, because they're not only portable and hold tons of data, they're also often very smart, stylish and some even double-up as fashion items.

I'm following Yuriy and Talia's ideas about work-related objects but looking for alternatives to the Blackberry-type machines.

Another idea I had was along the lines of a passport-like item..... your work ID tag or similar, which would combine Gemini/Mercury with Libra (appearances, how you're seen).

A third option I came up with was some kind of presentation papers or design papers. My thinking on that was that Gemini/Mercury would be paperwork, but the Libra side would be something presentational in nature.

A fourth option would be something like an Oyster card (for public transport), but I don't think these last two options are likely given the type of colours that the chart seems to point to.

For colours according to the text I consulted for Libra and Capricorn we'd be looking at something in the black, dark crimson, tawny, russet, swarthy brown range. Obviously a lot of mobile phones/organisers are those sorts of colours. They are also common colours of wallets though...... document wallets and money wallets. Hmmm.

When you lost it I think you were on your way out to work, near your house (your significator and the lost item's significator are in the same sign) or pathway/driveway, or perhaps a nearby bus/tube/train stop. I think maybe you were on your way out of the house or had not long left, on the journey to work (Moon ruling 3rd and 4th, placed out there on the 10th's cusp). Lilly suggests that Saturn involves memory lapses, some kind of momentary lapse of concentration. I think it might also suggest contact with the gutter, drain or manhole cover or something leaden and grimy of that nature. Libra suggests off-the-floor places though, or hanging on things..... this is why I put off learning about lost object horaries :)

The emphasis on the 6th house and Libra being the 6th sign from Taurus suggests that it has slipped from your sight in quite a major way, but I agree there are several signs of recovery...... for instance, Mercury is heading away from the Sun where it's hidden, and although the Sun is below the horizon the other light, the Moon, is very powerfully placed, Moon's next aspect is to its dispositor, Mercury aspects the 2nd's cusp, and so on. The arguments against regaining the item seem to me to be fewer than the arguments for regaining it.

I was wondering if a good samaritan (11th house, ruled by Saturn which is the Moon's next aspect) or a neighbour (3rd house, ruled by Moon) would be involved in its recovery.

I look forward to reading the story sometime near Hallowe'en!

Regards

H.

As there is just a week to go before I post the answers I thought I'd pop in with just a couple of comments on the responses so far.

Without giving too much away :
at least one part of one response is so accurate that I couldn't have put it better myself!

And there is another remark which made me laugh as it was part of my guess at where I might need to look too.

However, I 'll re-iterate what I said initially, this is a horary 101. So, to identify the item, it is important to understand the state of the querent first ( i.e what my primary concern might have been) and not just jump straight into house 2, though of course the latter is important.

Hi Amelia.
I was thinking very hard, giving a lot of deep astrological analysis. But than I?ve just forgot what those are, just remembering the answer.
So, your lost thing is your memory book/diary, kind of collection of girl?s everyday?s thoughts and dreams. May be your boss after reading that will get confused (that?s why Saturn 10th ruler in 6th, ashamed).
Starting remember something from my analysis, don?t think that?s some electronic device, because of lack of Martian energy in Libra. But strong Saturn presence suggests something quite a traditional.

It was a broken weighing machine of sorts that measures body fat etc.

too many planets in Libra- the balance.
Mercury for the calculation.
beauty and health aspect for the 6th house, venus and saturn.

but I agree with another poster- Nothing that would beat a lost and found blackberry and Libra is a sign of voice. So you could have called he mobile phone from the landline and found it.

First house significator being Venus in Libra, it's probably safe to assume that the querent is either concerned with themselves, or perhaps the worth of the item that's been lost. A lot of the symbolism of Mercury in Libra leads me to think of a purse or handbag of some sort. These are portable personal organizers, that are also considered fashion pieces. They tend to carry great amounts of wealth and documentation in them as well. If not a purse, I would guess some sort of wallet or billfold, but still something along similar lines.

As for where it is, there's a lot of mixed symbolism with the two sigs being in the Tenth and Sixth house. One would suggest that the item is close by where you are or at least some place you frequent, while the other suggests...the opposite. Since the Moon is in the Tenth and rules the 3rd/4th, I was thinking perhaps you left it at your parents's house. Mercury coming out of combustion could show it being buried underneath something and then being forgotten about as it then applies to Saturn, the planet Venus last separated with. Perhaps then someone else discovered it and put it up in a closet for you?

Hoping I didn't completely miss the mark! Figuring out the object from the chart is an interesting idea! Not something I've ever realy thought about doing before, since you always know what the item is before you look at the chart!

Answer time. And I must say that this chart delighted me so much with its symbolism that even when I thought I would not find the item again I was still happy as the astrology was so beautiful.

I know that often with lost item horaries I tend to jump into the second house to start to track down the item. What struck me about this horary was how important the condition of my ruler was to the story.

The Ascendant was Taurus and I was Venus in Libra and conjunct Spica.
Venus was therefore fairly strong - but it is in the 6th house. This gave me a lot of difficulty until I realised that in this case the words 'accidentally debilitated' could also be applied literally. But I'll return to that in a minute.

In fact the situation was all about appearance and beauty and the item was one of adornment. It was also relatively valuable ( we'll return to this shortly too).

From the second house and its ruler I can see why people thought the item might be a Blackberry, diary or even a purse. But as I said this was horary 101. It wasn't necessary to try to guess what Mercury could be representing - all that was needed was to know that Gemini is the twins. The item was one of a pair! handn mentioned Libra could mean 'hanging' - but that wasn't where it was lost but where it started. It was a dangling earring.

[For those interested in the exact detail. The earring was a turquoise drop. I had a pair almost 30 years before and lost one then. It took me all those years to find some the same, they cost quite a lot, and within 2 months I'd gone and lost one again. I was not a happy bunny]

So where did I lose them? I couldn't put it better than handn
This was spot on. I put the earrings on not long before leaving the house and was 15 mins walk ( half way) to work when I realised I had lost one.
I was tempted to turn round and go back and look for it then and there. But, as I mentioned, I was accidentally debilitated as I had injured my ankle the week before and a) daren't miss any more work because of it and b) couldn't walk for very long without pain. So I didn't retrace my steps.

I would have looked on the way home but it was already dark. Instead I drew up the chart and pondered. I was convinced I could find the earring if I searched a lot and tried to come up with all possible meanings for 6th house and Saturn. I searched the flat, the (dingy) stairs in my block and, yes handn, I went out and inspected the drains/gutter/manholes. I found nothing.

The next day I was working in a different direction ( I am sort of self employed on two contracts- so no proper boss to get angry other than me angry with myself!!) so that was that. I searched again at home that evening. Still nothing.

The next day I wasn't working but was going out in the evening- so I thought I'd walk up to the shops on the way- and keep my eyes open. This was 2 1/2 days later on a main road in central London. And so I really couldn't believe it when not so far from my home, there was the bright turquoise earring lying on the (very grey) pavement in full view. For those that thought the item might be damaged - the back that fixes them in place was missing, though otherwise it was ok. Somone did try to help me when I was looking for this back piece though no-one helped with finding the actual earring.

That is probaby enough for now - but I've since noticed that this one chart also describes a number of things in my life. It even has my natal Ascendant as the MC.

Hello Amelia

Thanks for giving such a detailed picture of the answer and your account of what transpired. I'm glad you found the mystery object which is now no longer a mystery!

I'm pleased and surprised that I got some of the information right, and the stuff I got wrong is good grist for the mill. An interesting case study!

Hope the ankle's healed.
