Horary question concerning career change 1 by HoraryQueen Hi, I have drawn up a horary for the question: 'If I become a driving instructor will I make enough money and will I enjoy it okay?'. The question is 28 June 2005 1.48 p.m. BST Edinburgh with asc. 10.17 Libra. The first thing I see is that there are some planets right on the angles. First Jupiter is on the ascendant and Jupiter rules the 3rd house which shows your students (as opposed to 9th house which is your teacher). This could indicate lots of clients looking for tuition. However it also rules the 6th house and by antiscion Jupiter is on the 6th house cusp and this kind of thing to me can be like a little secret signal that this is the house in question here - i.e. 6th house ruler on the ascendant which is therefore malefic. Next we have the Part of fortune and the Sun both close to the 10th cusp. PoF on MC is surely good, but it's opposed by Pluto by antiscion. Also the Sun is the 11th house ruler. This could just show hopes and ideals but I would think is more likely to indicate the money coming from the new job and if it is close to the 10th house cusp then it could be the money staying with the company. Also Mars is on the 7th cusp and could therefore be taken as opposing the ascendant. I'm not sure who the 7th house would be here. I suppose if the 'punters' aren't shown by 3rd house (since Jupiter is 6th by my theory) then they could be 7th house, so they are all rash Aries types, probably going to crash the car and annoy the querent - they already know everything too I see! Either that or they are just not coming out at all. Moon is going to improve in just over 2 degrees when she goes into the terms of Venus so this would be an indication of improvement for the querent. Another thing I noticed is the partile conjunction between Venus and Mercury. Mercury is ruler of 9th and 12th and the first thing that would have to happen is the querent would have to undergo training to become an instructor, so I am not looking at this as negative - maybe it just shows the training could be a bit intense or overpowering. Anyway, what does anyone else think? I am keen to hear your views. Thanks very much. Susan, Edinburgh. www.horaryqueen.co.uk Quote Tue Jun 28, 2005 9:29 pm
2 by Deb Because the 3rd house is short journeys and daily travel, I?d have taken Jupiter?s (3rd-ruler) position on the ascendant as descriptive of the type of venture the querent is looking to set up, as well as being descriptive of his or her characteristic approach to things. Venus (main sig) in a partile conjunction with Mercury (driving/mobility skills), both having newly entered Leo in the first house, with the Moon separating from the trine of this conjunction, suggests a very recent change of circumstance regarding career ? but it also suggests inexperience in this field so the querent may be a little na?ve in his or her expectations. Jupiter on the ascendant looks promising, but the Moon (MC-ruler), is applying to the square of the Sun and then to the opposition of Jupiter and conjunction of Mars in the 7th. That doesn?t look good to me, and suggests a lot of setbacks and confrontations. Moon opposition Jupiter might show the querent is thinking too much about the broad picture and not enough about the smaller, practical details. Also since Mars rules the 2nd house, its position on the descendant can show problems of a financial nature. Because the Moon is separating from the trine of the querent?s significator and applying to hard aspects I don?t think it suggests an improvement in circumstances ? more likely the confidence the querent initially feels is becomes dented as difficulties manifest. I?d say this chart shows potential, but I would want to warn the querent against feeling overly confident and trusting that things will just work out well in the end, because there are signs the querent could put more money into this business than they are capable of getting back out of it or that they will experience a great deal of hassle and stress. 3 by HoraryQueen Hi Deb, Thanks very much for this clarification. 'a very recent change of circumstance regarding career ? but it also suggests inexperience in this field so the querent may be a little na?ve in his or her expectations.' As the whole economic background has changed so has the current job - it is not so easy to move around now. Also the immediate circumstances changed in terms of a very upsetting confrontation with another staff member. Although this may have been a 'storm in a teacup' it has happened on so many occasions and there just seems to be too many personality disorders in the place of work. The querent expects to do some research and asking around to find out more as you are right about the inexperience. 'a lot of setbacks and confrontations.' After I looked at this chart the situation which was brewing up with a.n.other actually blew up and was really upsetting and almost depressing. I am now wondering if Mars could be indicating 7th house matters. The querent is very wary of undertaking this venture. If it doesn't work out she might really struggle to get another job. It is likely that there will be a drop in salary too. Much research to be done and opinions to seek, but this is a great help though. Thanks very much - you're a star!
