Sleeping Jury causes Prosecution Appeal

Director of Public Prosecutions has ordered prosecutors to appeal the acquittal of a 30-year-old man in a murder case. The reason is that one or two of the jury members is to have been asleep during the trial. I have an article on net called ?A Brawl at the Nightclub Saturn? (Link) where a person thought guilty of killing a doorman was represented by Jupiter in a similar condition. Jupiter was in his own face in the last decan of Libra. In this case it proved that the person charged for the assult was not guilty of the doorman?s death. The offender had be asleep and at rest in a sofa in the nightclub. So the story repeats itself, only this time it is Saturn who was sleeping on the job. Lets hope that the case resolves so justice may be held and the case put to rest.

Wow. You can't appeal an acquittal in the US. It wouldn't matter if all 12 of them were snoring.

Wow is right, though here, it would have been a mistrial and not an acquittal.

Mistrials are declared by a judge before the jury decides. Once there is an acquittal the game is over.

Yes, but if jurors were sleeping, wouldn't the lawyers or the judge notice it, and thus ask or declare a mistrial?
