Yes as far as I am concerned financial astrology and astro-meteorology are sub-categories of mundane astrology in just the same way as political astrology. This is reflected in our forum guidelines:

Astrological discussion that is relevant here, includes political and financial institutions, ingress charts, elections, and events such as fires, transport accidents, and terrorist incidents. On Sepharial I did have the Silver Key on my original list but somehow forgot to add it. I see Astrology Center of America have now republished three of Sepharial's works on financial astrology in one book : Sepharial On Money: The complete texts of Law of Values, ; Silver Key; Arcana or Stock & Share Key

Sepharial's publications you list entitled l 'An Astrological Survey of the Great War, Being an Examination of the Indications Attending the Outbreak and the Presumptive Effects of the Conflict' and 'The Great Devastation: a Prophecy of the Times that are Coming upon Europe' sounds very interesting. I have read that Sepharial successfully predicted WWI . I assume one or both of these texts set out Sepharial's prediction on this issue?

Thanks for the clarification on the different editions of A.J.Pearce's ?The Text-Book of Astrology. I hadn't appreciated the earlier edition of Book II was more extensive.

Your reference to Morin reminds me I should have referred to his work in the earlier period too.

I had decided to move the thread on to this later period 1800-1950 due to lack of posts but thanks for this. This text wasn't discussed earlier in the thread. The most famous english language book in this period was undoubtably William Ramesey's Astrology Restored. I hadn't appreciated Coley tackled mundane astrology too. Could you say a bit more on what Coley covers please? I have never read this work.I thought it was basically horary and natal astrology.

I am trying to hold off discussion of post 1950 books just now on this thread as I know this will open the floodgates to numerous text suggestions. There has been so many mundane books since WWII.

Still, I haven't heard of Norstand's book. Sounds interesting.

Your reference to Cramer's book raises an interesting point about the category of historical books that discuss mundane astrology. I had been focusing on more technical astrology books but you are quite right to include this kind of book too.

Clavis Astrologiae Elimata or A Key to the Whole Art of Astrology by Henry Coley is prefaced by William Lilly and divided into 3 parts. Part 2 includes a wide range of information on interesting topics;

Chap 14 : Planetary Hours and Elections.
Chap 15 : Predictions of Mundane Affairs, or the General Accidents of the World.
Chap 16: the Lord of the Year.
Chap 17+18: Eclipses.
Chap 19 : How to prostignate of the Winds and Weather from the conjunctions and aspects of the Planets.

Then follow some other interesting inclusions, i.e:
Chap 20 : Ptolemy's Centiloquium
Chap 21 : Hermes Trisinegistus' Centiloquium
Chap 22 : Bethem's Centiloq. of Aphorismes

Coley's work is rich with information. No problem seeing he is strongly influenced by Lilly, but that is hardly a let-down and then he is ever so resourceful when is comes to classical sources. I can warmly recommend!

I would love to give more detail on each work but alas do not have the time for this at present, having recently embarked on a demanding full-time advanced Swedish course, a seemingly necessary prerequisite to gainful employment in these parts. However, as and when I get the time to develop my own website I'll be looking at the literature on every astrological topic under (and beyond!) the Sun, one step at a time, and going into much more detail. I'm sorry not to be more specific than that, but this is best considered a work in progress and a provisional list which remains to be fleshed out with more useful commentary pending further research and investigation.

I can briefly say however that the Sepharial publications on the war of 1914-18 are of pamphlet length but still interesting. I got them in a lot advertised by Keys Auctioneers in England a few years ago. Both arrived with a central crease from previous ill-advised folding but these publications are so scarce that to have copies at all was a miracle. I have not managed to obtain copies of all Sepharial's publications. And as you will see from close examination of my list above, several works on it I have only as reprints because originals have been vanishingly scarce and / or beyond my means.

I am very grateful to you for making such a detailed contribution. Your post has already greatly widened my appreciation of the sources in this important period substantially. I am sure many members will find it a valuable springboard for further personal research too.

I really didn't anticipate any further detail from you at this stage. Nevertheless, it certainly would be fascinating to get more information on these and other books and articles once your website is up and running. Best of luck with your Swedish studies.

True. However, I do feel the ones I listed are important even if their focus is not exclusive to mundane astrology. For example, Vivian Robson's description of major fixed stars in world history has inspired me to research this topic further.

Following a question from a member on another thread asking for a mundane bibliography I have decided to update this thread with modern books on mundane astrology. This is a very tentative list. I am sure there are lots of books I have missed out. I have omitted books on predictive techniques that may be relevant to mundane astrology. Regarding astro-locality I have only listed a few books. If you know others with a particular mundane focus please cite the details. I personally regard financial and weather related astrology as relevant here too. I confess I dont have enough knowledge of financial astrology to know which publications are most relevant to mundane. I have put in some books I am aware of that deal with the astrology of weather or astro-meteorology. The (?) symbol indicates books I haven't yet identified the publication date for.
