Employer/employee significators 1 by Kren In Horary the 10th house is the Boss, the 6th is the employee. If I am asking a question about hiring someone, such as ?Should I hire Mary?? and I am the Boss (as well as the astrologer) it seems appropriate to me to use the ruler of the first house as my significator and the ruler of the 6th as the person I may hire. Someone has suggested I use the 10th and the 7th when the question is worded ?Will hiring Mary be the most beneficial for the office??. But to me, the question is the same. It is my office, I want all to work well together, happiness/success for me and the office is one and the same. At least that is what it means to me. So if you are the Boss and are contemplating a number of prospective employees, would you feel comfortable with the 1st and the 6th as significators? As further explanation, I don?t use horary for a hiring technique, but I?m torn between two very good applicants and can?t resist a peek at horary advice. I?m not presenting the charts as I can judge them myself, but just seeking an opinion on the significators in this situation. Thanks for any comments. Kren Quote Tue Jul 05, 2005 10:57 am
Who to employ? 2 by taurus Kren Just a quickie. The prospective employer is shown by the 6th house and the usual rules apply. In John Frawley's Horary Textbook it say's that if the question is 'should I employ A, B or C? give the 6th house to the favoured candidate and find other significators for the rivals. A brief description of each candidate will contain whatever clues are needed to pin down the candidate to a planet and then the usual rules are applied. He gives a warning that the querent and candidate applying by opposition will lead to regret if employed. I studied with John for a while many Moon's ago and as part of my assignment was to judge a question 'nanny, who to employ?' From the querents descriptions, it seemed that there was a choice between 2 planets. The querent was concerned that one of the planets(candidate) was likable, but might not be able to cope. If both planet's are strong by essential dignity then see where the fixed stars fall in the chart. Do they fall on the 2 planets. If so, then what is their meaning etc. Are the querent's fears justified. John Nelson Hall Quote Tue Jul 05, 2005 2:19 pm

Is that a typo above? The 6th house is the employee, yes? The significators are applying to a conjunction in my chart. I made my decision based on the usual (non-astrology) qualifications. So time will tell how it all works out and if horary was correct - again. Congratulations for studying with Frawley! Kren Quote Thu Jul 07, 2005 6:09 am
