Will I get the job, yes or no? Will update

1
I am posting a chart, more or less two years after I asked the same question for another position I got and eventually quit. Hope my interpretation skills haven?t got too much rusty in the meantime. Anyhow, please correct any mistakes you may find in my delineation.

There is little background to the question, but three points are important. The job is in the place I live at the moment, and this place is far away from where I call home. Two positions will be given to two people. The chart was cast after the job interview. I followed the advice of some board members, who cautioned me against casting event charts, and then interpreting them as horaries. So even though I casted one such charts for the moment I filed the application, and another for the time and date of the interview, this is the chart I am interpreting.

Me: AC at 29? 44? Leo, and Sun at 24? 10? Pisces
The job: MC at 29? 14? Taurus, and Venus at 9?41? Taurus

As you can see both the AC and MC are in late degrees, meaning that everything has been more or less decided, and interviews have ended. Two positions will be offered to two people.

The Sun, my significator, is received by Venus, lord of the job. This means I am interested in this position. But apart from this the Sun is peregrine and in the house of the competition: I am not a strong candidate, and the others were perhaps better than me. There is no aspect, no mutual reception, no translation or collection of light between the Sun and Venus. According to Bonatti the Sun would be in the eight house already, and this is very very bad.

You can see how Venus is in partile conjunction from Jupiter - someone will soon get an offer. Venus has just separed a conjunction from retrograde Mars in the first house. According to Lilly a planet in the first house is a co-signifier of the querent. Mars is however a malefic, retrograde and peregrine, in the fall of Venus. Its debility makes it even more vicious ? this Mars can really wreak havoc. It could mean they disliked me or I came across as being too aggressive. I do not consider Pluto as one of the candidates because it is not a traditional planet. It may be more indicative of internal strife.

The Moon is in opposition to the tenth house (the job), and the south node is in the tenth. The next aspect of the Moon will be a square to my significator. These indications are not positive.

One could consider that both the AC and the MC will soon be in a sign of Mercury, in this case the job and I would have the same significator. But this significator is retrograde, in the eight and applying to a modern malefic. I am not considering fixed stars, because I believe the indications of this chart are clear enough.

In conclusion, I do not think I will get this job. Will keep you updated

Al Nablusi,

Due to Not being able to calculate the chart my self because the data was Not put in the post, and many others might shy away because of this: :brows

Time(either AM or PM)

Date

Place(city, state or providence, etc.) Lattitude and Longitude are helpful.

Also, the Liz Greene method of the horoscope is easier to read for many as the degree and minutes are right next to the planet.

Without looking in the ephemeris, I'd say Venus's speed will Not catch up to the Sun, which if it did it would say Yes. But Venus will not Perfect with that sextile to the Sun.

However, your co-lord, Mars is separating by less than 7 minutes to a Trine to Venus(lord of the 10H), a Yes answer.

The job, the 10th, with Venus separating from Jupiter in a cjt. by 6 minutes and 2 seconds is less than Lilly's 7 minute separation rule, again a Yes answer!

Lilly allowed 7 minutes separation to the house of the matter's lord.

Of course, there are other considerations such a face, term, dignitys, etc., that bring into play Lilly's marvelous point system to further evaluate this horary!

And as you have in a round about way stated, with the asc., at 29 degrees rising it's too late to ask the question or too much as already transpired to make a difference according to Guildo Bonatus.

Because of the knowledge you have exhibited I doubt that you are testing the astrologer as Bonatti also noted on many late degree rising horarys, yet your verbal contrasts with event charts is baffling many of us as to why you don't understand the difference.

Lilly has No late degree horarys in CA to my knowlege!

It would be nice to see the birth data of this horary and to put it in Regio as Lilly did. Even though this is a 10th house matter, note how other house cusps change in many horary horoscopes comparing the two different house systems!

Here?s a chart in Regio, with time, date, longitude and latitude. The cusps do not change much though.

I have looked at the horary again. Mars enjoys only accidental dignity, but it is still peregrine because has got no essential dignity. It is in the fall of the job (Venus). I still don?t see this as an indication I will get the job. Initially I considered the 7 minutes separation as a positive indicator. Then I thought it may have been just descriptive of the situation. In fact the chart was cast after the interview, and may just show me as I left the interview.

Is the Jupiter/Venus conjunction related to me? I do not think so. Jupiter may signify a different candidate. It rules the seventh - competition, and the fourth about which I really have no clue. Jupiter is peregrine, but is well received by Venus. I noticed how Jupiter is in the detriment of Mars (my co-significator) and Mars is in the detriment of Jupiter.

I am still uncomfortable with interpreting event charts. However, the event chart has Venus L12 and L5 applying to L10. L1 is retrograde in L10 together with two other planets, which to me describes the situation becase, at that time and place, three or four people were being interviewed.

Al Nablusi, as I said yesterday you may be confusing the Forum with the data of a horary verses an event chart. See the way you word this is as if this may not be a horary question but an event chart! :-?

See you have a question at your heading as the subject, then you run off on this event chart routine, very perplexing.

In reading your comments on this horary it sounds as if you have put in some serious study in horary, then this bit about the event chart comes in as if no question was asked at all, but that what appears to be the querant was just the instigator of an event. Now it is very possible that events, electionals, and horarys can happen at the same moment in the same time and place, and they often do, but was this actually a horary question or just an event?

Hi Clinton,

the chart I posted is a chart I cast after the interview. to me this is a horary chart.

Please disregard anything I said about event charts.

I do apologize in case I have confused some people, who may have thought this was an event chart. Now that I read my post, I realize I did not explain this point properly.

To make it clear: this is a horary chart. The first chart I posted uses Placidus, the second chart I posted uses Regiomontanus.

I will post the outcome in more or less 10 days

Hello, since you are the querent, you are signified by the Sun. If you currently do not have a job, look to the 6th House which is ruled by Uranus (as per Joan McEvers system of horary). The Sun and Uranus do not aspect each other, no aspect no action. And Mars in the 1st would seem to confirm a no answer.

If however, you do currently have a job, and are thus asking about another job, look to the 6th of the 6th, that is the 11th House, which is ruled by the Moon. The Moon is applying in square aspect to the Sun, so the answer is no.

If you do not get the job, please be aware that a better job yet awaits you!

Jim and Forum membership, in this Mercury Rx period, presently going on I nor do any of us want to create arguments that are emotionally charged and thus a bitter outcome or hard feelings due to communication being off at the present nor are we seeking to shame any participant on the Forum.

But Joan McEvers is a Modern, and once you have digested Lilly and other Ancients you realize that her method is Not Traditional Horary upon this matter which is clearly the 10th by Lilly and the Ancients.

I.E. #1. As I understand in Traditional horary the 6th is co-workers and our employees, Not our present employment nor our future employment.

If I misunderstand this concept I humbly ask my Contemporary Traditionalist forum members to correct my error thru the works of Lilly and prior true Traditionalists who wrote before 1800 A.D.

I.E. #2 If the 6th were the house of employment as from the quoted document by Jim, it would have been Saturn as the lord of the 6th and Not Uranus, as Uranus is an Outer and Not part of the horary lore from Traditionalism. Yet as already stated the 6th for our employment to my understanding is Not Traditionalism.

I.E. #3 As we study CA from Lilly and writters prior to 1800 we find evidence of Modernes in Lilly's time like Lilly's rival John Gadbury who used the 5th for relationships, romances, affairs, yet Lilly stuck to the 7th as the relationship query house.

Jim as you hide those Modern's books from yourself you'll discover how many times thru studying Traditionalist's lore that many of the Moderns misunderstood much of horary and created methods that confused many horary students.

Yes, I knew it would be just a matter of time before someone spoke out against McEvers. I do have permission from Deb to post McEvers views here, but if you guys are going to be that stubborn about it, I will no longer post McEvers horary system here. Too bad, because everyone loses in this type of closed and non-receptive environment...haven't we moved beyond that yet?! Apples only, no oranges permitted.... :(

Jim,

It is Mercury Rx at the moment, if you have permission from Deb, that is all you need.

Many on this Forum mention Outers and other methods after 1800.

And there are a few I've met via this Forum who don't allow the Outers in their natal interpretations.

Just be aware that there are a few here on this forum who may resent me from calling them Contemporary Traditionalists rather than Traditionalists because they actually were born long after 1800 when the factual Traditionalists actually wrote! In other words they May look down their noses at me as calling me a heretic because I state that the true Traditionalists lived prior to 1800!

Clinton, thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and feelings regarding this topic. I sense that others here share your sentiments. I do not mean to offend anyone, but as a "traditional" Aquarian, I find it uncomfortable when I perceive "segregated" policies or mindsets. In other words, I tend to be way more inclusive than exclusive. To me, it's not black or white, but black and white--and yellow, and green, and red, and purple, etc., etc., etc. One can still respect and honor the traditions of the past, and yet still be open and receptive to that which is a bit more modern. In this way, are we not all better informed?! But I can also see how others would find it uncomfortable talking about more modern perspectives. So perhaps I will just follow along silently, and utilize McEvers horary system for my own practice, and let you all continue along as you have...Namaste, Jim

Jim, Ive recently started posting here and am getting used to the strong objection of certain approaches. Thats fine, its made clear and I understand the reasons for doing it; inevitably it will restrict organic discussions from various posters which is a shame but otherwise the traditional stuff would get swamped and diluted by the likes of you and I. There seem to be more discussions about what we are allowed/not allowed to post than actual pertinent posts though which is kind of funny.

What I also find funny is that a lot of Hellenistic astrologers refer to Lilly as 'early modern'. Its all relative.
