Thanks for posting this interesting chart.

He is born with the same natal Jupiter and Uranus conjunction that was exact at 0' libra cardinal axis some months later when Neil Armstrong took his first steps on the moon 21 july 1969.
This seems to me interesting as the venture was somewhat similar but in a more narrow scope.
It would have been interesting to have Felix angles and perhaps then some contacts with this JU/UR

One other things that seems interesting is that Felix radix Mars is a few days from being stationary RX in tropical sagittarius. Mars went stationary 26 april which is not exactly peaking stationary for him born at the 21, but anyway, to me it suggest a stronger mars making a long stay in sag the sign of traveling which is the same as well for armstrongs moon walk.

Also at the jump at 14 october Mars in sagittarius again repeating.

(From the vedic angle he have a real strong mars in ruchaka yoga(mars in own sign in angle from ascendent or moon.) which is considered giving strong martian qualities. As we don't know his ascendent we can at least see that sidereal mars is in own domicile scorpio in angle from moon.
In the Navamsha chart (9th harmonic), sidereally mars is exalted in capricorn which makes for all in all very powerful mars that might fitting a daredevil of his kind.)

Transiting Jupiter is opposite his mars which may have been helpful here when he did his spectacular jump.

Just a small addition that might be interesting astrologically.

When analysing his chart I checked his progressions

I saw that the Progressed Mars in it's Rx cycle was in it's peak phase, as Felix Progressed SUN was in opposite to progressed Mars. This is an intensive peak phase I believe for the mars Rx cycle.
But it was a few degree off at the actual jump 2012. So I thought it was not close enough to mention.
But then I read that he had prepared for the jump in 5 years.
And the P Su-180-P MA was exact in 2009. So this peaking of the mars sun cycle was in effect.

To me this seems some interesting correlations to indicate that the Rx mars phase in sagittarius (travel)
mirroring the moonwalk and spacejump mundanely and individually.

Maybe the flight chart (Kitty hawk) is tied in some way ?

hi stefan,

thanks for pointing out armstrongs first walk on the moon with the jupiter/uranus opposite the aries point.. i was making a connection with uranus close to this same point with felix's chart earlier and thinking of an association with uranus and aviation perhaps.. the kitty hawk data is rated BB at astrodatabank.

http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Avi ... rst_flight

i never knew this, but apparently the first time anyone ever actually 'flew' which is different then the first air-plane flight, was off the galata tower in istanbul in 1633. what is interesting is that although there is no specific date for this event other then the year 1633, this year happened to have the planet uranus hovering and going over the 0 libra degree for much of the year.. whether their is any truth to this story, i don't know..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galata_Tower

i do see a sun/uranus conjunction in the kitty hawk and nasa space chart, while there is a sun/uranus trine in neil armstrongs chart. felix has the 150 aspect or non aspect between sun and uranus.

Hi James,

1633 for the first unpowered flight? Balderdash! That Turk was a Johnny- come-lately. :D

What about Eilmer of Malmesbury? The English 11th century Benedictive Monk who not only flew with wings but wrote about astrology? Now that is what I call real multi-tasking!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eilmer_of_Malmesbury

The idea that the Wright Brothers achieved the first powered flight is a historical myth that has been successfully sold to the world.

I suspect the first culture that developed technology to allow men to fly in the air were the Chinese with the invention of the Kite:

Yeah the title of world's first flying astrologer monk is not an easy one to beat. I cant see much competition coming up behind him on that r?sum?.

Here is a list of firsts in aviation:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_firsts_in_aviation

As I thought the Chinese got there first with Kites in 559CE

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_firsts_in_aviation

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuan_Huangtou

Not a very auspicious beginning though considering prisoners were used as guinea pigs for the first human flight 'test flight' glide by kite

Summary:
559CE -First successful human flight: a manned kite lands in the proximity of Ye, China by Yuan Huangtou. Yuan Huangtou was the son of emperor Yuan Lang of Eastern Wei. At that time, Gao Yang took control the court of Eastern Wei and set up the emperor as puppet. Finally, Yuan Huangtou was imprisoned by Gao Yang and, against his will, flown (via a large kite) from the tower of Ye, China along with several other prisoners. While Yuan survived the flight but he was later executed.
.
From mid April onwards Saturn was in Gemini whilst Jupiter was in Libra up to the end of August. Uranus was in Sagittarius and Pluto was in Aquarius that year. Neptune was in Aries that year. Pluto was sextiling Uranus and Neptune during that year. Uranus was trining Neptune and for several months Saturn and Jupiter too.

Thanks James and Mark for some info about the astrology of flying et.c

I have not worked much with the kitty hawk chart. Read about it quite a long time ago in a book by some english author ( Appleby or Mccann I think), then seen it refered to sometimes.

That story about the daredevil flying monk may be something to contemplate further

Kirk wrote:Unfortunately, there are hordes of high-flying astrologers out there. But theirs are flights of fancy. And the places they go! I can't follow them. Nor do I, for the most part, care to.

There would be several angles from which Felix' jump could be examined;
1) The history of Aviation/Balloon travel
2) The history of Parachutes
3) Man venturing into Space
4) Man's breaking of the Sound Barrier
...and surely there are other approaches, too.

Not every record in the Guinness Book of Record would appear to have the same kind of significance - but who am I to judge. I will go along with the arguments that say that Felix' jump serves a scientific purpose that might be useful some time in the future. So the jump was for science and not performed by an astrologer...

I do like the association of Libra with jumps or falls from high places.

Some more Information on Felix Baumgartner:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-19943590

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felix_Baumgartner

According to the National Geographic link below he began his descent just after 2PM (US Eastern Standard Time). It claims he landed at 2.17pm (Eastern Standard Time). A bit confused though as the article also states he landed 'after roughly ten minutes total in the air' :???:

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news ... science-2/

Take a look at this site for the beginning of his descent:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/shortcu ... s-answered

It made me feel nauseous but then I have vertigo :-sk

The subject of exactly where he landed in New Mexico has already sparked a yahoo debate:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 605AAvM67R

The 'best answer'cites the following:
He landed 68.865 km (42.79 mi) east of Roswell Airport near 33.350785,-103.793256 on the Llano Estacado, near some small playa lakes, 3.7 km (2.3 mi) east of the Mescalero Escarpment.

mark and everyone else,

hilarious! i was out all day and didn't get back til this morning!

but mark, if scotland separates from england you'll have to find some scottish fellow that is a high flying astrologer from the deep past to outdo both the turk and this english bloke! on the other hand maybe the english did to him what the turks did to the fellow who claimed this feat in 1633 or thereabouts.. they banished him to algeria as they considered him too dangerous to stay in istanbul! maybe this english fellow suffered a similar fate in being banished to the highlands and is one of your long lost relatives!@ i can see the parallels already..

andrew - making a connection to flying and libra is interesting.. i mostly think planets before i think signs.. i don't know why that is.. for some reason uranus seems to stick out the most for me with regard to aviation.. i can't make an association with a sign to flying as easily.. if i were to think elements it would be air (signs) lol...
