Oh, I must mention this;

The tsunami that hit Sumatra on Dec 26.2004 was first spotted and warned with the solar eclipse of Nov 24.2003. This first solution on watch was the 45 day interval/keydate after the solar eclipse, however, it so happened that the Solar eclipse of Nov 2003 was interlocked with the station of Uranus on Nov 11.2004 by the means of a Lunar year. 12 sidereal lunar cycles pass from Nov 24. 2003 to Nov 11. 2004. Both celestial events warned the build up. Then 45 days after the station of Uranus - then the tsunami earthquake struck.

Well, the point I want to make now is that 'Sandy' is hitting the East coast of the US now and there is a comparison. The event is occuring 45 days ahead of the station of Uranus on Dec 13. 2012. Now I haven't had the time to check the chart for this station and whether there is a 'gearing' influence from another celestial event occurring at another point of time - but these are things that should be looked into. I can see that the station of Uranus on Dec 13. 2012 occurs on the same day as a New Moon...

An Astro*Cartography cast for the station of Uranus on Dec 13. shows the Sun and Moon on the horison in the East of the entire East US coastline. If comparing with the chart for the New Moon of this day, Saturn is rising along the same coast.

Thanks, everyone, for asking. I don't live on the coast, but I'm not too far from the Atlantic Ocean as the crow flies. I'm not in a designated flood zone, but my experience is that Mother Nature rarely cares about such designations.

I live in a two story home that I own and I'm more worried about the basement than I am the ground or above floors. If the power goes out, and it probably will within a few hours, the sump pumps that are supposed to pump water out of the basement should the ground become so saturated that it seeps through or under the house, will not work. Then it's up to God.

This is the most severe storm I've ever experienced. Once in a while hurricanes will come up this way, but by the time they get up here, they often aren't too severe. There are exceptions. Maybe I've just been lucky.

We have food, water, and the weather isn't too cold. We have logs to burn in the fireplace which previously had only been used for atmosphere. For better or worse we also have several large trees that should they fall over and on the house -- well that would not be good. I also have sufficient liquor, wine and beer to hold us for a while. I keep hoping Sandy will change her mind and head out to the Atlantic and disturb the fish and little else. Let's hope my spirits are this good tomorrow. She is supposed to visit us about midnight EDT.

Survived! My wife and I were lucky. Lots of inconveniences, but no injuries or property damage. I have no power and only temporary internet service. We've been told that electric power will not be restored for at least a week. I'm hoping that's an exaggeration to keep people from calling and tying up the lines. Obviously they have to restore the hospitals, police and fire departments first.

From what I've been able to determine with ten minutes surfing, the NJ Shore and NYC were hardest hit. One small town in NJ had at least 300 houses destroyed. Face Book has a page Titled Jersey Shore Hurricane News and if you want to see some serious devastation, take a peek.

New York City was hit harder by this storm than any other storm in its history. Subways (underground for the Brits) are full of water. The Holland Tunnel, a one-mile tunnel that runs between New Jersey and lower Manhattan has between 10 and 15 feet of water in it. The NYC financial district, arguably the most important in the world, is under water. A crane perched atop an under construction high rise apartment building snapped in half but is hanging by a joint and dangling some 65 stories above the ground.

Fatalities the last I heard are about 30, which given the density of population is not too bad. Most of them were killed by falling trees. I'm sure the toll will go higher.

The storm was 800 miles wide. Just thinking about that is breath taking.

Say a prayer for those who lost so much. There are many of them and they will need a lot of help.

writing early on election day here is the consensus on the impact of hurricane sandy on the election.

of states affected the by the hurricane, most are solidly obama states, e.g., new jersey and new york. pennsylvania is a much tighter race.

the impact of the storm means fewer people will vote because of continuing difficulties on transportation, communication, and the fact that some people can simply not afford to take time away to vote when they are dealing with immediate recovery needs. one estimate last week said that obama will receive between 200,000 and 400,000 less votes in hurricane affected states for this reason.

this may be enough to tip pennsylvania in romney's camp, and it certainly will dampen obama's popular vote count. but in an of itself the hurricane is unlikely to change the results in the electoral college.

still pennsylvania bears close watching particularly if it goes to romney early tuesday night.
