The time I got for Adam using his progressed anlunar for his rampage and death is 4:07, am, EDT.

The time I came up with for Adam's mother using her progressed anlunars for the his birth and her death is 1:15 am, EDT.

Adam had the Mars-Neptune midpoint at 320?40' with Saturn at 320?07' conjunct it.

In my speculative chart for Adam the MC is 261?20'. It is squared by Mars at 350?55'. That Mars is also square to the midpoints of Uranus-Pluto at 261?35' and Neptune-Pluto at 262?00', both on the MC also. The last two midpoints, made up from outer planet pairings likely had a connection to his subconscious, id, or superego - whatever you prefer.

His mother's Mars at 81?08' squared his own Mars, opposed those outer planet midpoints, and was on his IC. Her Mercury at 170?43' opposed his Mars and squared the midpoints and MC.

Moon square Mercury could be an indication of a quick, fluid, mind (as could the outer planet midpoints on the MC, although they might pertain to intuitiveness rather than conscious thought).

With Venus square to Uranus and Neptune Adam may have had some confusion in his young life about his sexuality.

If my times are close to being correct there are many aspects between the two charts to be interpreted.

It is probable that there is much more but my mind is not as sharp as it used to be and I do not have the stamina I once had.

Haven't posted in awhile because I am doing quite a bit of non astrology projects at the moment. But as I spent the better part of 12 months on american spree shooters a few years back (yet to publish publicly) wished to share these comments.

A. The professional significators for a shooter or highwayman are Mercury-Mars. They are present in the March 2012 Ingress figure. Set for Washington DC, whole sign houses, Mars is angular in the 10th, and is amplified by position at the bendings (square Nodal position). I have yet to see a succinct discussion of planets square the Lunar Nodes but in my experience it makes their actions more public. Mercury is placed in Aries in the 5th of children. Mercury-Mars are in mutual reception by sign, let's call it more than generosity because of the wide antiscia relationship though both planets in retrograde will definitely interfere with perfection of the relationship. In fact we can probably say that Mercury-Mars both in retrograde limited the death toll. Also by house position see that Mars rules not just children (5th) but the death of children (12th). Finally see the Moon applies to the opposition of Mars which amplifies the force of Mars in the figure.

B. Mundane astrology works because mundane configurations are replicated in natal horoscopes for individuals who play out the mundane delineations.

I will spec a rectification a few lines lower but we don't really need it to see how this horoscope is picked up by mundane forces. If we focus on Mars-Mercury in Lanza's horoscope, note that Mercury/Aries replicates Mercury/Aries in the Aries Ingress figure (not hard to do as Mercury will be fairly close to 0 Aries in any Aries Ingress). Also Mars/Pisces is the signature for a suicide bomber, willingness to die, e.g., Pisces=sacrifice. The first dynamic trigger of the attack is progressed Mars conjunct Mercury. I don't normally use progressions, but this one is so close one would have to be a fool not to cite it. The second dynamic trigger of the attack is trMoon conjunct trMars which is placed in the same sign as his natal Moon-North Node conjunction. This is a very significant feature of the horoscope and most likely contributes to suggested autism/asberger's syndrome as the Moon conjunct either Node is a significant debility which interferes with intuition and yields bad manners. This natal Moon-Nodal configuration was also spotlighted by eclipses of early 2010 in the Cancer-Capricorn axis which is the second mundane-natal connection to this incident. The solar eclipse of 15-Jan-2010 and the lunar eclipse of 26-Jun-2010 are relevant with the latter closely conjunct natal nodes and the former a few degrees after the degree of Mars for the attack itself. Zoller said that as a trigger for activating eclipses, the transits of Mars often occur slightly earlier than the exact date that Mars transits the eclipse degree itself. By eclipse duration using Ptolemy's rules, the solar eclipse of 15-Jan-2010 is still in effect; the lunar eclipse of 26-Jun-2010 is not. Reading the history however, recall that his parents divorced in Sep 2009 and these eclipses followed that event. This is one indication that anger towards his mother following his parent's divorce should be considered as a possible motive.

So now let's get into a speculative rectification
1. Fidaria: day or night? For day, its major Mercury and minor Moon with the major Mercury period starting on 22-Apr-2010 the spring after his parents' divorce. For night is major Jupiter which started 21-Apr-2012. With Mercury/Aries one of the two significators for a shooter and Moon the significator of the mother, major Mercury wins hands down making this a diurnal figure.

2. Shortcut. I recommend at the onset of the rectification to test for dynamic measurements to the Moon for traumatic events which in about 5% of times hasten the rectificaiton process dramatically. See that for the time of the shooting, direct solar arc Mars 9AR56'11" would perfect a square to natal Moon for an 14 Virgo Ascendant. I pause with this trial time of 3:17:24 PM and consider the configuration of the chart:

a. Nodal axis moves to the 5th-11th axis with Moon/North Node in the 5th. 5th signifies children and death of the mother highlighted by the 2010 eclipses and transit of Moon-Mars on the day of the attack.

b. Ascendant ruler Mercury/Aries is placed in the 8th of death.

c. Mars is angular in the 7th, figure is diurnal, ads choler to the Mars. Mars also oriental of the Sun

d. Mars in the 2012 Aries Ingress is placed in Lanza's natal Ascendant.

e. Virgo Ascendant is consistent with shyness. Facial shape is bony ovate of Aries which is consistent with Ascendant ruler Mercury placed in Aries

C. Now why the USA and not elsewhere, though the same day Chinese incident with a slasher attacking school children is of obvious interest.

Using the Regulus USA National Horoscope of my own design:

By general delineation, Mars/Gemini/7th ruling the 5th and 12th is consistent with open conflict with children resulting in their deaths. This will be true of any Sag rising chart by whole sign houses; point taken. Gemini is a mutable sign which is consistent with automatic/repeating weapons. See Chapter 12 of my book America is Born: Introducing the Regulus USA National Horoscope for more delineations of Mars. Recall Mars-Ascendant direction #10 timed the release of the vido game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas which is a model for video game violence played by a large segment of school age children in the United States (see p. 255).

I find location the most difficult part of mundane predictions and can only offer the following mundane-natal connections using the Regulus USA National Horoscope which support direct connections between Lanza's natal horoscope and the USA. Nothing says Newtown Connecticut; these synastry connections only cite how the promise to kill school children in the United States is generally connected to Lanza's natal horoscope.

1. Lanza's Venus/Aries is partile conjunct the IC of the Regulus USA National Horoscope which by whole sign houses is also the 5th of children. Also Note the angles of the March 2012 are the same as any Sagittarius rising version of the USA horoscope making Mars rule both the 5th (children) and the 12th (death of children). Now I havn't talked about Venus/Aries as the delineation of a shooter but I suggest it is still caught up in the mix. Venus/Aries signifies bloodlust and Venus is conjunct Mercury/Aries by sign and ruled by Mars/Pisces. So Venus is conjunct Mercury and ruled by Mars - here is the connection of Venus/Aries bloodlust to Mars-Mercury the shooter.

Another infamous American spree shooter - Eric Harris of Columbine - also had natal Venus-Mars-Sun stellium conjunct the IC of the Regulus USA National Horoscope.

2. Lanza's Mercury/Aries is partile conjunt the Lot of Children 5AR46 of the Regulus USA National Horoscope

3. Lanza's Sun/Taurus is partile conjunct the Lot of Daughters 2TA13 of the Regulus USA National Horoscope. The Sun is Lanza's 12th house lord by sign and 8th house lord by exaltation.

I found no profections nor directions capable of timing the event. Other than the non-processed solar return Ascendant being Capricorn, highlighted by the attack, which is fairly weak linkage.

D. Summary

The two mundane features responsible for the attack are primarily the March 2012 Aries Ingress which featured a Mars-Mercury configuration amplified by the Nodes (Mars at the bendings) and by the Moon (which applied to Mars). The secondary mundane feature are eclipses along the Capricorn-Cancer axis from 2010 which (my supposition here) triggered anger against Lanza's mother following their divorce and supplied the motive.

Both of these configurations were dynamically triggered in Lanza's natal horoscope at the time of the attack:
progressed Mars conj natal Mercury and
tr Moon tr Mars in the 5th (children and death of mother) which triggered the 2010 eclipses.

Think this sums it up. Connections to Newtown, CT? Don't have the time to work that out. Apologies.

one can make a note of coincidences between charts..it is nice to see data repeated in more then a few instances for it to take on greater significance... the aurora shooting of july 20th/2012 also happened under the 2012 aries ingress.. can we draw any of the same parallels using the data we have on this event and the aries ingress to washington? we have an actual birth time rated AA for james eagan holmes which is helpful.. the aurora shooting parallels this newtown shooting, ct event in some respects..

this is in response to regulusastrology's summary.. i am not convinced the aries ingress to washington has a lot of relevance, or more relevance then the other 3 ingress charts... i don't know what the "Regulus USA National Horoscope" is, so without the data i can't comment. while the moon applies to mars in the newtown event, the moon applies to mercury in the aurora event.

we don't see a sec prog of mars to mercury in holmes chart to repeat what approximates lanza's data. i don't think this one sec prog is enough to merit that much attention. i do note how 5 cardinal is the midpoint for saturn/pluto however.. i haven't looked at any primary directions for any of these individuals charts..

as for the eclipse charts back to 2010 - i think one could suggest the eclipse data moving forward could have equal relevance.. if the idea that eclipse's have bearing on events in the future and that they operate in an extended window of time, i imagine they could do so in reverse, time wise as well.. we need to understand 'time' more fully.. i'm sure there are some connections with the eclipse data from 2010.. i make note of the mars in cap in the dec 21 2010 lunar eclipse. we could look at the eclipse charts for 2013 and we might see connections back to these events too.. something about 'time' that i and others may not fully understand which might allow for an influence of an eclipse forward and back into time.. this is my thinking at this point..

here are a few of my own minor observations on the newtown ct event working with a noon chart for adam and nancy lanza. it is fun to do a tentative rectification of a chart, but i think/hope we will find out their exact birth times soon enough and am not willing to speculate on them for the time being with my own rectification..

i continue to believe the mars/pluto combo has a strong connection to violence.. here's my 'working theory' on these events for the time being.. in james eagan holmes chart, the mars/pluto conjunction on the ic of his natal chart indicates the explosive potential to his natal chart demonstrated with the aurora shootings..

with adam lanza, one notes the 120 trine between mars and pluto in his chart.. on the day of the event mars happens to be transiting the exact midpoint of mars/pluto.. it is interesting as nancy lanza's pluto is at 6 virgo 10, while adam lanza's mars/pluto midpoint is 20 cap 57 both off the tentative noon time.. mars by transit for the school murders is at 21 cap 05.. if one uses the 45/135 aspects they will quickly note the distance from nancy lanza's pluto at 6 virgo 10 to 21 cap is 135 degrees. nancys pluto is 135 away from adam mars/pluto midpoint and the transiting mars at 21 cap 05 happens to be moving over the same spot for the time of this event..

maybe these are just interesting coincidences of no real significance.. i don't know...

i don't know what the "Regulus USA National Horoscope" is

It's a rectified July 4 1776 chart that Dr. H published a couple of years ago. It is similar to the Sibley chart.

This is an area that is crying for research. Prior to the 1950s, Aries Ingress charts were used as a kind of nativity for the year. Subsequent charts, other ingress charts, eclipses, etc, were subordinate to it. Charles Carter wrote a highly influential booklet titled "An Introduction to Political Astrology" in 1951. In that book he argued that most astrologers "missed" World War II and attributed that to their use of the Aries Ingress charts. He argued for the use of national charts and political cycles instead.

With all due respect to Mr. Carter, I doubt mundane astrology has performed any better since 1951 than before. And while we might consider an Aries Ingress chart to be dubious for this reason or that, it is more certain than almost any national chart. The number of claimed valid charts for the USA is all we need to know to question this method.

What most contemporary astrologers seem to miss with the Aries Ingress chart is selection of ruler of the year. They don't do it. Yet selecting the ruler of the year was considered important by every astrologer who used any method like this. But we then run into the usual astrology problem: there is no universal agreement on how to do it. Some would select the ruler of the ASC or perhaps the MC or the almutem of one of those points. Some might simply select the strongest planet by essential dignity or accidental dignity or a combination of the two. There are other ways.

It is this choice of the ruler of the year that gives the year its "color" or flavor. I've tried to decipher Morin's rules for picking this ruler, and they aren't easy. He looks at it this way: each mundane chart has a particular important point. In the Aries Ingress that would be 0 Aries. Find the planet that has the most influence over that point for that year and you have the Lord of the year. The problem is that Mars and the Sun have a huge edge each year. But this year I figured it had to be Mars because nothing else seemed to have much influence and sure enough this has been a Mars type year. Morin gives an example where a planet other than Mars is Lord of the year, but in almost every chart I've seen I can't figure out how to get a planet other than Mars or the Sun.

The other three ingress charts are subordinate to the Aries Ingress chart and if they resemble the Aries Ingress they are most likely, according to the theory, going to be the time period when the promise of the Aries Ingress manifests. That needs research, too.

i see astrology as falling into a number of potholes, this question of how to connect an event to the country it happens in being an obvious challenge. i agree that we are no further ahead with what carter had hoped for in spite of his observations or wish... studying up on charts for the usa is like stepping into a quagmire.. i feel the same way about ingress charts and i agree that it is hard for the aries ingress to not have an undue focus on mars and the sun, if zero aries is going to be considered the most relevant starting point for the year..

i actually did the aries ingress to newtown, ct and aurora colorado.. there is so little difference between newtown and washington as to not merit doing the chart if you've done one for washington.. with aurora colorade scorpio rises putting more of an emphasis on mars if one goes with the ascendant ruler as having a greater theme for the year in the particular place.. we do need some chart to tie it all together and i don't think astrologers effectively have one at this point.. research is generally missing in astrology even though astrologers give it a lot of lip service..

i find myself looking at different charts and noticing connections, but i wonder just how meaningful and relevant they are. i did the solar return charts for 2011 for james eagen holmes the aurora shooter.. for me the relocated return to aurora has much more meaning then the solar return to la jolla.. how can we move astrology forward research wise when we can't even know basic details like where a person was on their birthday, while trying to do solar returns? seriously, it is tough..

since his birth time is rated AA, i opted to do the primary directions for his chart into this horrific event as well.. it would seem the stationary jupiter prominent in his chart for a few reasons and ruler of the 5/8 houses was more active for the year of this event as well by primary direction, along with the his natal mars.. that is mars directed opposite jupiter beginning of 2012.. the closest for timing of the event is converse mars 45 to venus.. venus and jupiter are in a close square in the natal chart house 6 to 9..

connecting these events to some bigger chart is sketchy at this point.. i figure an astrologer is better off just working out the astrology off single events but it does nothing to further mundane astrology.. i find myself tempted to revert to a different day and age when kings and queens ruled an area.. that is so much easier.. get their birth chart and use them as a reflection for the area, or country they reign over.. it is a little bit of what i am thinking using obamas chart and making it a focal point and which i have shared on the general astrology area of this forum..

It is probable that she prepared at least 6 meals on Monday, December 10th. It is possible that Adam did not know until that day that his mother was going on a vacation but not taking or asking him along. With that possibility, I looked again at Adam's progressed demi-anlunar to see if the 10th could be shown as a possible trigger date for anger or depression. Only by changing the birth time I had originally come up with could the PDAL give such an indication and it was a powerfully depressive one yielding the chart I originally had for December 14th.

My surprise came when I progressed the demi-anlunar, using this new time, to the rampage of the 14th as the chart yielded was more powerful than the one I had formerly used for that event. It placed his progressed Moon in exact opposition to progressed Mars with the opposition laying across the Asc-Desc axis.

The chart's IC is at 278?15' holding the November 27th Mars-Pluto conjunction at 278?39' and the return Pluto at 278?59'. In the hours before reaching that point the progressing IC swept across Adam's progressed Moon-Mars midpoint at 275?49', his natal Saturn-Pluto midpoint at 276?52', his progressed Saturn-Pluto midpoint at 277?02' and his natal Moon at 277?07'. The time compacted combination of anger (progressed Moon [185?59'] opposite progressed Mars [5?38] with progressed demi-anlunar Asc pointing to 185?58') and depression (progressed Saturn-Pluto midpoint [277?02'] on natal Moon [277?07'], as well as progressed Sun at 50?15' square natal Saturn at 320?08') that I have noted in similar events I have worked charts for.

The birth data needed to get these charts is 8:35 am, EST, April 22, 1992.

This is not done in "fun" but is serious work. As serious as any other technique that is used.
