I`ve been reading again Facets of fate or part of it and I have a problem with the concept of sect.
Take Saturn. I have it and Jupiter in the 9th house. I had a religious education but am not at all orthodox, I followed Oshos teachings and his Dynamic meditations,and other Easter paths,was even an admirer of Crowley,Rasputin.
In recent years I became Atheist but I dont believe consciousness ends with death.
Ile said Saturn in sect brings luck but always with hard work,or so I understood. But thats not luck. Luck is meeting the right person at the right time in the right place. And career is smooth. Its more Jupiterian.
If you ask an emigrant who got wealthy after years of hard work if he is lucky he will tell you he is not. He got everything through sheer hard work he will tell you.
In short, getting what one wants via sheer hard work is not generally regarded as luck. The guy who inherits or is priveleged is normally regarded as lucky.
So I dont see the difference betwen Saturn in or out of sect.
Furthermore, with Mercury-Saturn conjunction,and like Liz Greene said in her book on Saturn, information from environment that helps to shape our ideas is closed off and education is often interrupted. This certainly applies to me. Even at University I was always the last one to get any information cause I was reluctant to ask for help from colleagues. I normally get my info from books or forums,internet etc, but rarely verbally.
Valens also claims Saturn square or opposite Mercury as ruler of ASC can cause comunication troubles or deafness.
Well as I said I have the conjunction trine the ASC, and I got Otitis at age 4,so I cant hear too well, and my verbal comunication is often unclear and imprecise, which frustrates me a lot not to mention that I am not fast enough at debating,unlike the proverbial Gemini ASC. But somehow he never mentions the conjunction.

In short when it comes to religion/philosophy/education I resemble more the third house where I only have NN.

it is an interesting question saturn and sect as i seem to recall indian astrologers viewing saturn differently with regard to sect... one can be forgiven for being confused on any number of topics in astrology.. your example of queen elizabeth is a good one too.. astrology is subjective enough that one needs to come to some sort of position based on experience, as opposed to the reading of others views on these types of topics.. i don't think there are any easy answers and one has to do their own work to find answers. good luck figuring it out!!
