Q text of solar revolutions 1 by astroart In one of the biggest European libraries with the help of friend from Central Europe I found a Q document (?Q?- short for the German ?Quelle? or ?source?) or a source text of the Hellenistic- Persian-Arabic system of solar return. According to this manuscript the authorship of the text is attributed to Hermes and the text itself is in Arabic language. The name of the book in Arabic according to the text is : Kit?b Hirmis fi ta?w?l sin? l-maw?l?d bim? fassarah? ?Umar ibn al-Farru??n a?-?abari min al-F?ris?ya il? l- ?arabyia or in English translation: The Book of Hermes for the of Revolution of the Years of Nativity as Umar ibn al - Farruhan at-Tabari translated it from Persian to Arabic Condition of the book is generally good. However, the top margin is partly heavily damaged by worms but there is no loss of text on the top line. The damaged areas are repaired by over glued paper strips. The book consists of 28 sheets (56 single pages) with dimensions 16.5 x 23 cm. The book is written on solid yellowish to pale brown paper with dark brown ink. Headings are written with very large red letters and punctuation is also red. At the end of the book is the date when the copy was made: 19 Ra?ab 668 which date corresponds to 14 March 1270. On the front page of the manuscript in a Persian language are the names of the different owners of the manuscript. According to the text the latter owner was the Court astrologer of the Ottoman Sultan Mustafa III (1757-1774). An interesting fact is that the manuscript is described in various catalogs of Arabic literature but under wrong number and therefore it has remained unknown and unexplored to the moment. 2 by astroart The book of Hermes on the solar revolutions begins in the following way: This book was written by Thrice-Great Hermes as a gift to the change of brightness of the Native and what the positions of the stars indicate in the signs and their return to the place they had been during the Native's leaving the belly of his mother. Now I will describe it to you and tell you that when the Sun returns to this degree and minute in the sign it had occupied at time of the birth of the Native, one must to evaluate the horoscope of the year. http://www.astro-art.com/ Quote Mon Dec 31, 2012 9:20 am
