I have published some time ago a correction with Prognosis. Unfortunately it is written in German language and difficult to translate. You might will be interested.

You presented a rectification for John Paul II with Libra rising. Libra rising for him? By no means! he is definitely Scorpio rising., by appearance and character. He was told "I was born between 5 and 6 PM", and in other occasion he said "I was born around 6 pm"
See in astrodatabank.
My rectification, based on 35 events is 17.49.40 EET Asc OSco46'.

What about Benedict XVI?

What would you rectify his birth data to ?

Using 32 events, the Pope 's radix is rectified to 4.12.58 CET Asc 18Pis08'.
His epoch is cast for 15 July 1926 2.10.38 UT Asc6Can01'.
In the radix, Mars conjunct IC (the end of life and the end of things) exactly 90 Uranus and Mercury, ruler of IC,- there is no surprise that the Pope surprised us with his resignation.
In primary directions in Topocentric system, Dual Test, some of the main aspects are:
Saturn 180 III cusp 4'
Neptune 90 Mercury 5'
Sun 180 Uranus 5'
SN 0 Uranus 5'
In secondaries we have, again in dual test:
Asc 90 Saturn 3'
MC 120 Saturn 7'
Mercury 120 Saturn 7'
III 0 Neptune 9'
Asc 180 Neptune 10'
Progressed Moon 0 progressed Saturn 14'
Conversed Moon 0 conversed Neptune 14'
In the current lunar return Saturn on Desc
In the converse lunar return Neptune on IC
In the lunar return for 28 Feb, SN on MC and Neptune on Desc
In the converse lunar return, SN conjunct Asc and Neptune on Desc.
All the lunar returns are precession corrected.
Transits for the radix:
Mars 180 PAF
Converse transits:
Uranus 90 MC !!
Transits for the epoch:
Saturn 90 III
Neptune 180 PAF
Uranus 90 Asc

I like the Uranus opp Sun primary direction but with true solar equatorial arc key that comes in 2011 and Saturn's direction to ascendant shows up now(fraility, old age, health or just plain depressed.)

In your system of rectification, the quality of aspects (Trine vs Opposition) does not make a difference and all aspects can be counted as triggers for all events.
So, what is favourable or unfavourable defined by ?

Hi,
it was not my intention to make this a contest or a comparison of systems, what is better, best or only only right.
Actually I wanted to show that the work with primary directions (in particular) is very tricky, especially because the house cusps (AS, MC!) differ greatly with small time differences.

Now to my example of a correction. Here I was just coming to that conclusion. What makes me very surprised was that while a modern method of correction was my turn used, but the result, correlated well with the old astrological systems, just lunar, solar, etc, in the old statement importance, as Saturn or Mars and so on MC . Moreover, I was able to create a correct prognosis of this correction, which is also in line with existing systems. Where I compared the system only after the arrival of the forecast made ??because I wanted to see whether, at least in retrospect, even there the predicted event with the corrected birth time is shown.

With Pope Benedict XVI. I'm on the same day or night his election I computed a birth time, which was shortly after 4 hours in the morning. Whereby me at this time was no birth time available! Shortly thereafter circulated the birth time with 4:15 in the morning. My then his estimation of his time as pope was about 7 years, which amounted to actually from former knowledge with death. For this spring (Feb-March-April) clearly a problematic time period is evident.

It was found that harmonic aspect with malefic planets very often signals a negative event and vice versa, an inharmonic aspect with benefic planets means a positive event. MC 120 Saturn or Mercury 120 Saturn are therefore par excellence aspects for resignation.

Thanks, I will download the book.
It means the natural benefics get top priority for good and directions of natural malefics will always be bad irrespective of the aspect.

hi isaac,

thanks for sharing juan estadellas site for a free download on his book predictive astrology.. last time i seem to recall you posting was on the romney/obama election.. did estadella make any changes to his romney prediction before the election outcome?

i agree with him, or you on the fact that the aspect may not matter so much as the nature of the planets coming together.. i am not much for these to the minute descriptions of 2 planets coming together though, so much as seeing a blending of energies with more then just 2 planets. (some) astrologers of today seem to get caught up in exact to the minute details involving 2 planets. for example, i note the position of saturn at the moment about to make a station at around 12 scorpio.. the midpoint to pope benedict xv1s midheaven-mars opposition is about 27 mutable right about where saturn is via 45/135.. that is just the transit, but that is the one i would define as forcing the tipping point if i was going to focus on transits. t mars - square onto his natal saturn is more of the immediate trigger.

as for the conversation on primary directions - i don't think this technique is meant to be a timing technique to the minute either.. my understanding is it gives a general overview on the surrounding area of time out to a year, similar to the way i and many others use solar arc, or secondary progressions.. however, now that i have said that i am sure someone will voice a different view of all this citing the need to have data that is micromanaged down to the last second.. that kind of astrology is not one i can relate to very well..

cheers james
