13 by margherita Being an expert in traditional vampires I cannot help to mention the night of June 16th when Polidori (Byron's secretary), Byron, Mary Wollstonecraft and her future husband Shelley met and competed in order to invent the scariest story. In this very night two of the most important gothic stories were invented, Frankenstein (Mary W. Shelley) and The Vampire (Polidori). This was the prototype for vampires as we currently know.
