Youre right. According to some sociologists Germany used to be hierarchical,today is not(low power distance), although Geert Hofstede claims it was always like that (low PDI) and indeed already in 1919 aristocracy was abolished and Marxs work suggests he came from a low PDI country.Unfortuntely his ideas were exported mainly to countried with high PDI, resulting in systems were everyone was equal..in the eyes of a dictator.

I was actually surprised while reading the thread "cronobiology" that what stood out from members was not their individual personalities but their cultural background. Hence, Sonia and Marguerita were talikng about rules and uniformity in astrology as was expected from lating cultures who tend to be high on uncertainty avoidance,whereas anglo members were more tolerant of ambiguity and fully rejected absolute truths and certainties as typical of low UAI cultures.

Brazilians,although coming from a high UAI culture, are also members of the only western country with Long Term Orientation which makes Brazilians more accepting of many truths and of change as part of life than other latins so although impatient with Sonia in a typical high UAI fashion , they showed a similar rejection to absolute truths as the anglos. nations

I'd agree there is a strong Saturnian feel to Germany - though I admit this is only based on working with them so is a bit biased towards Saturninan matters! Nevertheless I noticed it relative to other countries' approaches.

As a result I prefer the 1871 charts for Germany as a whole. I feel the country particularly resonates to the Saturn, Mars, Pluto configuration.

However if I had been looking at West Germany alone I would have used a 1949 chart. But by the time I took up astrology, in 1991, W Germany as a separate nation was already history.

I would aslo agree with Amelia, when you think of the 3 colours of Gernay's flag, Yellow Satrun, Red Mars and Black Pluto. I would assume in Fire signs.
