I looked at the original chart and determined a profession , though I didn't have the time to work through the detailed analysis and justify my initial 'feel'. But now it turns out that my guess for her initial profession was right even though the chart was wrong. What does that say about astrology and divination I wonder? Its tempting to think this confirms the Geoffrey Cornelius theory on the 'wrong chart'. However, an alternative explanation is that I accepted this incorrect chart as it looked very much like the kind of chart I was expecting. In short it fitted my preconceptions with Venus on the MC in Scorpio for the entrepeneur behind the sexy Ultimo range of lingerie. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Mone http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_bias Mark Last edited by Mark on Fri Mar 08, 2013 12:35 am, edited 1 time in total. 86 by damon Well thats the most common criticism made by sceptics- youll always find something in a chart that confirms what youre looking for. Care must be taken. But some charts are pretty clear cut Quote Fri Mar 08, 2013 12:35 am
87 by Mark Well thats the most common criticism made by sceptics- youll always find something in a chart that confirms what youre looking for. I see the point but I ( and I am sure many here) have come across charts that didn't seem right before and the data was incorrect. Mark Since this kerfuffle appears to be centred on a lady who was/is focused on the optimal means of covering knockers, I would recommend a minimum of 6 months analysis with acute focus on the intricacies and intimacies of the maternal bond. I suspect, and would hope, any idealist mutterings about Mercury RX or similar astro pablum would be given short shrift. Quote Fri Mar 08, 2013 1:24 am

Were this possible on a consistent or meaningful basis then one thorny matter is the dubious status of the 99.998372% of astrologers who have been wasting their time, and others, since the CE / BCE cusp or thereabouts. A potentially more serious matter is the death of the Skyscript Mystery Challenges which surely is a fate on a par with Tommy informing us he has recently enrolled on a Psychology evening class! 90 by Graham F I think it's interesting anyway - the ambitious NN right on ASC, with Mars (sidereally exalted, ruler of MC). ASC ruler Saturn in Venus's sign Taurus, aspecting MC. Venus (sidereal WS R10) in her own sign Libra in 10. And in tropical, LOTS of Libra. I think we've all learnt lessons, one way and another. Thanks to Mark for posting and hope you get the job! 91 by Atlantean Hello Mark, Though many spent time analyzing the bogus chart, I must say that accidents/mistakes happen and it's a part of being human to err. Don't feel bad about it. If anyone is truly upset about something so ....trivial...then I can only think that their panties were already in a knot before they got to the thread. You were acting under good faith to be helpful... it is the intent that is important. Additionally, what are the chances in the future that you post any charts that weren't checked and rechecked? As for mystery challenges...I have on numerous occasions requested both to those doing the challenges and to Deb that they should not be celebrities. Think about it for one second... if it's a celebrity, someone can backtrack the data and then (even using completely bogus methodology) seemingly outperform someone else who is using reliable methods but relying on the actual astrology. ie. not cheating This can be grossly misleading for those attempting to learn new approaches/techniques. Still, I hope there are more (non-celebrity) mystery challenges in the future. Take care James Last edited by Atlantean on Fri Mar 08, 2013 12:54 pm, edited 1 time in total. 92 by Morpheus I second the proposal made by James. There are some interesting lives who are not celebrities, If requested by Moderators we can forward correct date, time, place, exact degrees and minutes of rising sign along with Mini Biographies. I also feel the same way about it, for one more reason: Celebrities' professions are limited- it will be either show business or politics or criminals or athletes or scientists. What about the common people's lifes? What about professions such as an accountant, a garbage man, a carpender, a civil servant, a housewife? For example, in the case of chart #A -Tommy Sheridan-, many members rightly assumed that this man was involved in public issues. Knowing that it is a celebrity, "public issues" automatically denoted politics/religion or media. Weren't he a celebrity, could he be a civil servant instead? There is also the risk that, limiting our study to celebrities, we are interpreting life in terms of success or fame, not inner hapiness. Last but not least, thanx to everyone for this thread. Such good structured delineations have been a great lesson to me who cannot compete to this level of yours. For example, I had no idea of the 7H's attribute as a public issues house! Looking forward for more mysteries to come. Georgia Quote Fri Mar 08, 2013 4:12 pm

95 by Morpheus As a professional astrologer I know that the real value of astrology for clients is in predictions... I have another proposal... Lets select Birth details of any willing senior member and others should try to predict what would happen in one year time using their preferred house system, zodiac, and predictive techniques . The willing member should give the current situation regarding his/her life affairs at the start of the exercise... P.s BTW, I look forward to someone guessing my Professional expertise, my day Job and idiosyncrasies from my birth chart . It is more fun than knowing about celebrities whose personal life is still safely hidden ...and if we are correct in their case there is no confirmation or denial.. However, other members have also made this suggestion recently both privately and on the forum. Deb never runs Mystery charts. In any case she is not active on the forum at present. I think we have all reached the same conclusion after the last exercise about the need to take a move away from celebrities. I do have quite a lot of appropriate Scottish data I could use. People who are certainly not on Astrodatabank. I think that is the way I will go in future...after triple checking the data! Probably going to wait for Mercury to go direct and out of Pisces.
