28 by james_m arabic, or greek parts or lots are taking the differential between 2 planets and imposing it on the ascendant (usually).. one quickly recognizes using them that it is the differential that is the distinguishing feature as it is imposed onto the chart using the ascendant.. one can do midpoints using the angles as well.. one big difference is the 'differential' is divided in half, (as opposed to being added directly to the ascendant) to give what is considered a sensitive point between the 2 planets. i do think it is fascinating to consider just how easy or difficult it would have been to have an accurate ascendant in times gone by.. according to the examples in valens many of the planetary positions are off, not to mention the greatest likelihood the angles would have been even more difficult to pinpoint given a number of reasons to do with correctly identifying the time. i imagine arabic/greek parts are more correctly gotten today then they ever would have been in the past.. hopefully someone can enlighten us on their use.. i am not convinced of there value anymore then i am in the value of midpoints which is why i raise this.. glad you could humour me cor scorpii.. 29 by nexus7 I once was shown two charts of children who were diagnosed with autism, and both had almost exact Moon/Saturn squares. Or one might have had the conjunction. But I suspect they might have been cherry-picked during the bad old days, when autism was assumed to be the result of bad parenting by 'refridgerator mothers.' It is a moot point point how much 'mental' illness is really about the consequences of abusive environments, and therefore really about emotional illness, but I would imagine in the latter case, Saturn and Uranus could be joined by Pluto. And Neptune if alcoholism ad addictions to drugs can be counted as 'mental illness? - the writer Affluenza and the Spirit Level certainly reckon this latter thing to be the case.
