Garry Phillipson has written an interesting review of Faye Cossar's book: 'Using Astrology to Create a Vocational Profile'. It gives a good outline of what the book offers and includes an update from a woman who was featured as a case-study (a point of interest for astrologers who already have the book).

This is partly - Faye writes - because an MBTI profile can serve as a starting point for discussion with a client, and partly because the MBTI's roots in astrology

I took a test, which included guessing our type. I was the only one in the class who guessed correctly what result the test would show. I read about MBTI enough after that some of it still sticks in my head. I know the 4 axis, and 16 types. I was an INTP.

I never saw anything about MBTI's roots in astrology though. So I'm curious what those roots are.

Although the MBTI is often presented as a form of 'scientific psychology' par excellence, its Jungian origins mean that it has unconsciously inherited and reproduced concepts of astrological and alchemical cosmology. As Jung's analysis of personality derives conscious inspiration from his active interest in alchemy and astrology, contemporary users of the MBTI are inadvertently conducting a form of astrological character analysis.

For me ,in the MBTI, the biggest problem is the 4th one- between J and P there is no procrastinating type.
Start with J and end with P.

At their extremes, Judgers who don't use their Perceiving skills become prejudiced. They have made up their mind and are unwilling to look at new evidence. Perceivers who don't use their Judging skills become procrastinators.

Don?t confuse Judging and Perceiving with a person?s level of organization. Either preference can be organized.

I can only guess.
It is probably the lack of planets in earth signs that make you procrastinate.
It is my perception that Taurus gives practicality but fixity and a lot of inertia but Capricorn is the sign that gives you practicality with movement, and that is anti procrastination- they think but don't like to die thinking.
