This and next month we'll have long periods of VOC Moon. I've seen some posts on this forum which allow Moon to make an aspect AFTER she leaves the sign- is this a correct approach? VOC Moon is there for a reason I guess /nothing will come to pass/. Allowing an aspect after the Moon changes sign might seem like 'overstretching'? Or maybe I am wrong?

This is a subject that pops up often. Did you try searching the archives? I'm in a hurry (sorry) but whether views there may be on VOC it can always be overruled by other testimonies; keep that in mind too.

In the end it always seems to be whether our experiences confirm or deny something. Welcome aboard Erm, make sure you have a happy place firmly established Put together a group of astrologers and students and...its a party.

IMO If the moon is within a few degrees within the planet in the next sign then this next aspect can show an event, but it will portend a change of circumstance and this change of circumstance would be the factor of whether or not the change would show things continuing.

It shows difficulty for the current conditions it indicates in the present sign and can indicate slowness and back stepping in accomplishing the matter. You could consider it an extension of separation. So as far as the current circumstances are concerned they are over and done with; it is in the past and will not continue as things currently stand.

However, after the change of sign the moon will be able to make another connection and this new sign will indicate different circumstances that may or may not support the continuation of the query. I think in many instances it depends on the question and its scope, the main significators and their power and on the volition of the people involved and how much power they have to actually make a change.

Well it might seem like a stretch but it's the way I understand void of course at present. The important thing, in my view, is whether or not the moon enters into application with another planet. I think the sign boundary is important because crossing in order to perfect does suggest some different timbre than doing so within the same sign - circumstances need to change, or perhaps some long delay.

Also the idea that nothing will come to pass seems a bit extreme or black and white. Lilly and others maintain that provided the significators are strong etc. that matters can still perfect. It's more like it is difficult for the Moon to make an impact on the matter and generally shows that there's difficulty in bringing the matter about.

But, like with everything, the entire chart needs to be understood. Main significators very strong in application by reception, maybe involving a benefic somehow, maybe angular etc. could all point to an overall testimony that the matter will be effected, rather than that "nothing happens".

Now my personal view is that the void moon often shows up when actually the querent has little or no power over the matter anyway, or in situations where the querent must therefore just sort of wait and see. I actually prefer to interpret the "nothing comes of the matter" idea to really be "it's difficult to effect any real change on this matter now, unless other things mitigate this". Really the Moon is reflective of the horary as a whole and a 'busy' moon which makes aspects in the chart is reflective of a situation which is growing and can change (which is often good as the querent may often be looking for practical advice and we can help guide them in that decision making process). If we see the Moon not clearly "bestowing her effluence" to the earth then we might well wonder about a Moon which not effectively be seen to be doing this (void in its course).

They relate to either a recent or upcoming period of inactivity/communication breakdown, and describe periods were there is a potential interruption in the development of the situation.
